Thanks so much! I just got a Eastern Painted Turtle from a relative and I had no clue how to take care of him, it was kinda scaring me too but now I see what supplies I should get.

Great video. I really appreciate your care for the turtles. I am just finishing setting up my aquarium and doing my research as well. Let me ask you.... bottom line, where would you recommend me buying my first turtles. I want to buy from someone reputable and trustworthy. Thanks so much for your time!
How strong does the UVB/UVA light have to be? I have two baby res. Right now I have a 13 watt UVB and a 75 watt UVA bulb for basking. I also have the tank by my window and leave it open since I get direct sunlight. It's perfect right now for the summer but when winter comes around, I want to make sure I have the best lighting possible for them. And may I also add that baby turtles need a high protein diet to help them grow. Your turtles are beautiful by the way :)
How old does your turtle need to be before weaning it off the bottle. Right now it's a one finger turtle. Maybe one and a half. Haven't measured it lately.
i was wondering where you could order all your supplies for a turtle? i haven't seen anything anywhere. :o like the lamps, and docks, and food, and all that jaz
naomi watchmedance There are many places you can get your turtle supplies from. I personally get mine from Petco, Petsmart, All Pets Club, Fosterandsmith.com

So now I'm really attached to it and want to make it as comfortable as possible, but can't afford another fish-tank. Do you have other alternatives for where I can keep it? Like I said I wanted to keep it in my fish-tank, but I think it will try to eat my neon tetras even if it is a baby.
@Jessie51523 does the conditioner git rid of all the bad stuff, or do you have to use some kind of special water or do something to your water besides adding conditioner? Thx
Why do many people not put gravle/small stones or anything on the bottom of the tank? This girl mentioned "making them feel at home"; what do you think is on the bottom of the water areas in their natural habitat, glass???
Can you put fish in the same tank as a turtle? I have a one month old yellow bellied cooter, and I really want to put fish in the tank as well. I'm not sure how many gallons my tank is though...

I use tetra turtle water conditioner as of now but it's obviously not doing the job... What do you recommend? I have a snapper as of now so she's a little messier than other turtles but I'm also getting 3 more turtles on Friday... I have everything I need just need a new water conditioner/pH balancer or something lol
Hello there! I have recently taken an interest in turtles and turtle care, and I have a few questions. First of all, I would like to know what species of turtle is best for beginners. I am looking for a turtle that is on the smaller end of the size scale, and preferably a land turtle. Also, what types of supplies do you recommend? (filters, food, tanks, basking docks, etc...). I am also wondering what types of plants that turtles can eat. I hope someone gets back to me! Have a wonderful day!
I was wold that you should have a tank that holds 10 gallons per inch of turtle (ex. if your turtle is 2 inches, you need a 20 gallon tank). Well i'm getting 3 red ear sliders and my tank is only 75 gallons I plan on getting a bigger one within a year but I was wondering how big your tank was cause you have a big turtle and little turtles?
I had to save two RES turtles (terrapins) they were in unfiltered, unheated, water as well as maybe a 6 gal tank? anyway.. I picked them up yesterday, there in a half full 3ft X 2ft, Ive drilled a hole in the top so they now have a basking lamp ( reptile basking bulb 60W pets at home) Im going to buy a UV-B exo-glow flurrocent tube on they 15th ( soonest i can do it) ive got them eating terrapin food from pets at home and someblood worm I use for my crayfish, other than that what more do i need? ( my water is at a constant 72F) and I can buy a cheap heater no issues, Ive a broken terracotta pot for them to bask on, one is maybe 5inches the other I think is stunted!! Now... that smaller one was unable to open its eyes untill this morning i noticed it could open them slightly, I dont know if this is just because of the water in the tank they were in before or if he has an illness, Ive decided to buy some fish oil and will apply some to his eyes with a Q-tip tonight! please reply asap. Ive also brought some cuttlefish bone stuff for birds, Ive read its great for calcium. Other than that I'm worried for my little stunted guy, Untill i put the basking lamp in he just layed motionless at the bottom of the tank with his eyes sealed closed, atleast now he has some life in him, even climbing on his friends back hahaha, but he has a poor shell, ive even noticed a small hole asif a bird has pekced at him, im hoping the UV-B and cuttlefish bone will help? :/ Poorly written i know but im rushing around websites trying to just have a 1 on 1 convo with someone about this Thanks lewis
Sorry for a late reply, How's your little one doing? Since the problem seems to emerge from his eyes, he may be vitamin A deficient, If he's willing to eat carrots then be sure to give him some. If he's not then try to find it as a supplement, be sure not to over supplement. I'd suggest you place him under the sun for 10-30 min daily if it doesn't stress him out, the sun is a far superior source of uvb. The cuttlebone is great but some turtles don't touch it, if he's not into it try to get a calcium supplement. I'd suggest you raise the water temp to 78F, and if the little one is still sick then place him alone and raise the water temp to 82F. If you're on a low budget just buying them a pool(like in my video), should serve them the same and be affordable. If you have any further questions I'd be pleased to help.
Thanks mate!! Right, Here we go, I now have a 60 watt basking bulb and i built a 1.5 ft long basking platform, Ive acquired an external filter capable of 650Ltr and a small internal filter for extra filtration and current , ive acquired a 10% UVB florescent tube (18W) with a reflector, im feeding them terrapin feed from pets at home and crickets, Ive began hand feeding them carrot in small bite size pieces once a day and they have no issues feeding like so, Im considering buying A mecury bulb for extra uv as the platform cover a fair chunk of surface area.. After all this I ran out of money and didnt buy a tank heater, the tank water is at 79F once the bulb has been on a while, but the water temp must drop to atleast 24F at night, which isnt helpful i know, ALSO in the UK this time of year sunlight is superscarces, and when some sunshine comes out its like 4-5 0c out, will they be okay in sunlight but exsposed to that temp?
ALSO! he can see fine now :) no eye swelling as far as i can see! (no vet) Very lively and friendly, the shell holes still worry me greatly, he has began "cherping", some say he has respatory infection, but it seems to be communication with me.. like when I go near his tank where his food is he cherps! but I have noticed cherps at night when I'm in bed (I share a room with 4 tanks..) is it worth me spending £40 taking him to the vet? plus £70+for whaterver medical treatment required?
Lewis Coveney for the shell problems this link should help: www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/medshell.htm . As for a vet treatment, I would always think it's better to take him to a vet, just make sure it's a reptile or exotic pet vet and don't be afraid to scrutinize to make sure. Over here we have zero vets who are specialized in reptiles but given the opportunity they wouldn't leave out an appointment fee. Since you're low on money, I would take measures to help the turtle first then if in time their is no improvement or it got worse then I'd take it to a vet. As for the sun, it's too cold for them so forget it for now. The best basking bulb I could recommend would be the mega ray, second being the zoomed powersun. The one you have should do for thermo regulation but some extra vitamin d3 supplementation is preferable. Be absolutely sure not to supplement, keep in mind your pellets or veggies may have some vitamin in them too. Id suggest you try some dandelion greens with them, they're one of the best vegetable food to give, though young turtles are more carnivorous. If I've missed in anything or if you have more detailed question please contact me at Mozein15@gmail.com , I'd be glad to help.
I have a pet turtle name Jacob I'm just wondering if I should keep him on the blood worms in the pallets can you please give me a bit more advice on what to feed him
I have two baby RES. I bought an undergravel filter for my 10 gallon tank which has two tubes (with spouts/cartridges). I then bought separately one air pump. Can you tell me if each airline tubing needs to be connected to an air pump or if I can just use one of the tubes (with spout/cartridge). Also, can you tell me if a submersible filter can be placed horizontally rather than vertically (is that safe)?
Hi, I have a few questions, if you have the time to answer them. Firstly, I have just got a turtle from a friend whose had to move country, therefore, I am looking am taking over! I am struggling to get him to eat, I am struggling to determine which turtle it is so that I can determine the water level and the temperature the tank needs to be set at. Also I think the light should be on for 12 hours per day? and the filter does this need to be on 24/7 or just for a set amount of time during the day? I know its just to clean the water but does it have to be constant? Any help would be immensely appreciated. Cheers
+Martin Petrov's Left Boot If you watch the rest of my videos it will give you a better idea on water level, temp, filtation and lighting but you answer your questions quickly... you want the turtle to have plenty of water to swim (water level should be lower with hatchlings). On average the water temp should be in the 70's at all times unless you are hibernating your turtles or breeding. Lighting does not need to be on all day, just like the sun. Running the filter all day and night is recommended because turtles are very messy, you don't want stagnant water (increase change of disease, parasites). I hope this helps
i have an alligator snapping turtle but you said you should have 3x the amount a filtration as the filter does and i have a 40 gallon tank and a 65 gallon filter is that ok i coulnt afford anything bigger it was 100$ for the filter and it does work great
How do I recognize a red eared slider besides the red markings? I have 2 turtles, one is a Mississippi map turtle. The other one I do not know the exact species, but I think it is either a red eared slider or a yellow bellied slider. How do I tell?
Hi! I just had a couple of questions. I'm considering getting turtles and I was wondering if you could suggest what kind of turtle to get since this is my first one. Also, how long did it take you to set up your tank? And where did you buy your tank from?
+Attallah Phillips Before getting a turtle I would recommend doing your research on the different types. Some turtles are smaller than others full grown. Red eared sliders are great turtles to start with but they do get big, males tend to be smaller than females. My tank was given to me by a family member. I takes some money to starts thing off. You want to make sure you have everything the turtle needs, which is a easy trip to the pet stop. It doesn't take long at all to set up. About 24 to 48 hours, I say that so you have enough time to get your water up to the correct temp before you put your turtle in the tank.
thanks so much for your help! I've done some research, and I've decided to get an Eastern Musk Turtle because they're a lot smaller and require a smaller tank.
+yogosans14 Aquatic turtles spend time in the water as well as outside of the water in order to live. Turtles poop and pee more than fish do, which makes that water dirtier and can lead to lots of bad bacteria that can make your turtles tank smelly and can cause your turtle to get sick. There are "turtle filters" but more people use fish tank filters, which is okay to do but... You would need to buy a filter that can filter 3 times the amount of water your tank can hold. If you don't do this, you would need to do more frequent water changes thus stressing the turtles out (you don't want to do that). I hope this answers your question.
+LaDonna Diaz Caramel pink albino RES vary in price. Females are more expensive. They range from $300-$1000. It depends where are buy from. It also depends on how "perfect" the turtle is, meaning if the turtle is missing a turtle or has extra scutes, etc.
Great video :), I just got a baby turtle and I got everything you said but the heater. Just have to wait till my next pay check lol. I got a live plant for it to eat too, hopefully it wont overeat because of it. Got a 20 gallon too, wanted a bigger one but I guess Ill have to upgrade later. Thanks for all the info!
I recommend you getting the biggest tank you can because they grow fast and get big. The rule is for every inch of shell you'll need ten gallons of water.
So I have been helping my friend who was given 3 painters her shtty neighbors said take them or we are throwing them in the trash.. yes you read that right. so naturally she took them in and her and her boyfriend needed help so i bought them a 30 gal tank we put almost 30 gal in it prob 28 the tank might be a lil bigger either way I bought them a uvb or a lamp and a separate basking lamp as well as a water heater, temp gauge and a Fluval C4 40-70gal hang on side filter and the tank wont stay clean for more then 2 days and we are all going crazy we put a second Aqua-tech 20-40gal hang on side filter as well and that gave us about 4-5 days between water changes.... until the Aqua tech broke and we are back to 2 day water changes and filter media changing / cleaning we are desperate to find a good filter I have looked at canister filters and i have looked at internal filters and hanging filters and i dont know what to do we are all just really stressed out and would love to have a tank that doesnt need almost daily changes the tank is basically full and it is a good long size tank and they love to swim and seem to have enough room im sure they will have to upgrade to a 75 or 100 sometime in the future but for now this is it so with keeping a possible tank upgrade in mind what do you suggest we get for aa filter and tips would be greatly appreciated for someone who is new to all this and would like to help their friends out thanks for your time! -Jim
That struggle you re telling about with filters , i experienced that too. It took a while before i new what to use, but anyway, the best filters are those huge things you put outside the tank, you called them cannister filter( sorry english isn t my native language ) i believe. the one i have, is about 15 inch big and 7 inch wide, and cleans 2000 ltr water every hour. the water always looks clean, but i ll change it once a week. But i hope you have something from this information, good luck with them !
try making your own a lot cheaper and can be easier to maintain i forget his channel name but theres a guy on here who has great videos showing his diy aquarium filter, just size it up for your turtle thats what I'm doing works great have a big place 6 inch red belly cooter and a 4 inch gourami
I just got a red eared slider and I was wondering if I should have both the uav and the florescent light on at the same times. Or one at night and one during the day. Help please
Asapa Skitrev You can use water from your kitchen sick but you should treat it with a dechlorinater. I would let the temp of the water come up before putting the turtles in the tank. But if you are going a small water change, the water temp should matter that much because it wouldn't drop that much.
@tigers3010 I'd go with a 30 or 40 gallon (if i had the money) and for a 30 or 40 i would go with a 90 to a 120 gallon filter. I have heard many people say that you need to triple your tank size and that will be what size filter you should get.
I have two baby yellow bellied sliders and don't know if their male or female so what size of tank will they need when full grown. Plus they won't eat their food and I am kind of worried so what do I do?
***** It is hard to tell the sex of a baby turtle. Full grown females average 6 inch-12 inch. The rule of thumb with tank size is, you want 10 gals per 1 inch of the turtles shell. I would suggest as adults they live in a 60gal- 120gal tank. Also try offering your turtles all different types of food, for example pellets of all sizes, krill, shrimp, lettuce, turkey, ham. Try feeding them in a separate (small) container, they may have trouble finding their food. If none of that works, check out my appetite stimulant video.
+Jessie Erskine (Jessie51523 Does your local petsmart have nutrafin? My local petsmart and petco does not have them anymore, neither does Amazon, and any online retailer is selling them for a crazy expensive price like 30 dollars. Did they discontinue them? Thanks
You can order it from petsmart.com. Here is a link www.petsmart.ca/reptile/food/nutrafin-max-turtle-pellets-zid36-4089/cat-36-catid-500004. You can also ask the store to order it for you. It should not be $30, Are you sure you are looking up the correct product?
Do you live in Canada? I think it's available outside of the U.S. only. I found a link online where it's almost 30 dollars for only 12 oz. But I'm going to stop by my local petsmart and see if they can order it for me . shop.stefmar.com.au/nutrafin/nutrafin-max-turtle-pellets-with-gammarus-shrimp-340gm
PLEASE REPLY!!! My course recently found a baby turtle. I think it's a ditch turtle. I have a 10 gallon tank and I want to condition it for the turtle, but I have some fish at the moment in it. Do you think it will it them? I have 4 neon tetras, a big angelfish, two catfish, and a mollie. Thanks
I'm looking to get 2 maybe 3 turtles for a 55 gallon, I'd rather have turtles that stay smallest possible so they can enjoy the tank and not out grow it. Is there anything you would recommend? breeds? combos.. all male? I'd like to have different breeds, but what ever most suits a community tank works for me I just want happy turtles that get along ultimately lol Thanks, p.s. Awesome turtles they look well taken care of! :)
The general rule is 10 gallons for each inch the turtle is. I would recommend getting a minimum of 60 gallon aquarium so it could be enough when they grow.
How big is it now? Red eared sliders get pretty big. If it's a female it will most likely get to be around 10 or 12 inches but males only get around 7 or 8 inches. You'll need a lot of room for it, around 70 gallons or more and the tank has to be filled almost all of the way up so they have the most water possible. I keep mine in a kiddie pool that I turned into a turtle pond. :)
Depends on the surface area really, some tanks have more volume only because they're deeper. Generally you do not want a deeper aquarium for turtles since they prefer shallower water. As long as there's enough room to bask and get some swimming activity for all turtles then it's enough.
I know this is 3 years ago, but imma answer anyway. Turtles do carry salmonella, but you'll only get it if you lick your fingers after touching their shells or defecation. They are generally safe though.
i live in Kansas and i really want a turtle, but i don't know if the web sites you recommended ship here, i have a local pet co and i was wondering if i could get one there?
Help some of my moms friends have 2male and 1 female red ears sliders and a yellow bellied slider in a 20 gallon tank with no heat lamp no filter no heater and they have a small basking dock what should I do.
hay PLEASE HELP ME!! i have one black spotted turtle. .....he basks, eats really good, and looks normal. BUT he can't swim deep, he only swims on the top of the waters, and won't go to the bottom of the tank.... i m really worried about him ..
I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing. I depends on whats going on. You may have too much water in your tank, your turtle may be young and is still new at swimming. Your turtle could also be staying to the top of the water due to temp reasons
None, baby turtles are illegal to sell unless they are for Educational, research, display, purposes. No problem buying them online though, just agree that they are for those reasons. Don't be worrying about the FBI knocking your door down :P
i love how the turtles follow you!

Im considering buying A mecury bulb for extra uv as the platform cover a fair chunk of surface area..
Lewis Coveney correction for most previous comment : be sure not to over supplement, not not to supplement
Is a 150 gallon tank with fish good for a taxes diamond back Terrapin?
I have a pet turtle name Jacob I'm just wondering if I should keep him on the blood worms in the pallets can you please give me a bit more advice on what to feed him
nice collection👍👌
thank you
I have two baby RES.
Cheers
The light doesn't have to be on all day. You can turn it off and nothing will happen. It's just like when it's nighttime in the wild.
I hope this helps
i have an alligator snapping turtle but you said you should have 3x the amount a filtration as the filter does and i have a 40 gallon tank and a 65 gallon filter is that ok i coulnt afford anything bigger it was 100$ for the filter and it does work great
what temp does the water need to be?
How do I recognize a red eared slider besides the red markings? I have 2 turtles, one is a Mississippi map turtle. The other one I do not know the exact species, but I think it is either a red eared slider or a yellow bellied slider. How do I tell?
How many gallons do you require for each 🐢? What is the recommended temperature set for the heater?
Rodrigo Choto what kind of turtles are you talking about?
Andrei Jebelean i am thinking on peacock slider and a peninsula cooter. I have a 55 gal tank
I wouldnt
U need 10 gals per inch of turtle shell
What size tank do you have? because, you have several turtles in there. I was just wondering.
One question, can you use fish that filters and bottomfeeds instead of a filter?
also wondering where you ordered your turtles from?
Heith Gagnon I got my turtles from turtlesource.com, macsmorphs.com, breedingcircle.com
Nice set up. How big is your tank?
I'm a fish keeper, but why do turtles need filters if they don't breathe through gills?do they need the filter to be cycled?
+yogosans14 They shit in their enclosure, nuff' said
Filters aren't only to put oxygen in the water it's to clean it to, and turtles are very dirty
I hope this answers your question.
how much did your caramel pink albino red ear slider cost? I would like to find one for my tank.
+LaDonna Diaz Caramel pink albino RES vary in price. Females are more expensive. They range from $300-$1000. It depends where are buy from. It also depends on how "perfect" the turtle is, meaning if the turtle is missing a turtle or has extra scutes, etc.
the turtle is missing a turtle?
?
oh wow that really helped me for my turtle..... thx!
Do you put the food on the dock or in the water?
herbie747 In the water, turtles need the water to help them swallow. They can eat outside the water too but most of the time, in the water
Jessie Erskine thanks.
What du you put your turtle in when you first get it? Do you put in the tank right away or a pale or ??? What.
My question is if your tank is liters (gallons) because I want to buy a similar size :) ?
I recommend you getting the biggest tank you can because they grow fast and get big. The rule is for every inch of shell you'll need ten gallons of water.
@Headrush54 I didn't just throw them all in the tank together without slowly introducing them to each other. They live together just fine.
THIS TURTLE IS SOOOOO CUTE
Very helpful, thank you J.E.!!
your welcome
what do you think of the turtle topper
I bought a grass carpet for my turtle which I kept underwater. She keeps eating it, how do I prevent that?
-Jim
Nice
That struggle you re telling about with filters , i experienced that too.
It took a while before i new what to use, but anyway,
the best filters are those huge things you put outside the tank, you called them cannister filter( sorry english isn t my native language ) i believe.
the one i have, is about 15 inch big and 7 inch wide, and cleans 2000 ltr water every hour.
the water always looks clean, but i ll change it once a week.
It's the Nitrogen Cycle. Let it play out.
Which is more reliable? Petsmart or Petco?
How long can you keep a musk turtle out of water?
Love your Turtles
good video! almost identical to mine. what heater do you use? i keep having problems with my water heater. i love george. he looks so chill lol
wath kind of turtle is that hanging on the plants at minute 2:20 please answer
Hey,what turtle was there which was basking?
You do need a thermometer around making area so you can know what the temp is. Other wise you can have to little heat or to much and fry your turtle
+Theresa Leonard my basking area is well monitored
I have a UVA heat balb. do i also need a UVB balb too?
I just got a red eared slider and I was wondering if I should have both the uav and the florescent light on at the same times. Or one at night and one during the day. Help please
you need them both on, and then at night turn them both off.
UAV inbound, lol sorry I'll screw off now
jsias12 Your turtle needs both in the day and both can be turned off at night
Can i get new water from my crane in the kitchen and do i need to heat up the new water before letting my turtles get in the tank?
Asapa Skitrev You can use water from your kitchen sick but you should treat it with a dechlorinater. I would let the temp of the water come up before putting the turtles in the tank. But if you are going a small water change, the water temp should matter that much because it wouldn't drop that much.
Jessie Erskine thank you :)
@tigers3010 I'd go with a 30 or 40 gallon (if i had the money) and for a 30 or 40 i would go with a 90 to a 120 gallon filter. I have heard many people say that you need to triple your tank size and that will be what size filter you should get.
Which UVA/UVB light do you recommend?
do i keep the basking light on 24/7 ...or can i cut it off at night??? same for the filter???anyway, great tips!! Thank U
A DeMAMP they should have 12-14 hours of light on and 10-12 hours off and keep the filter on they are very messy creatures😄
Can tortise swim like turtles. Because people try returning tortoises in the water and they drown •_•
What type of turtles are those, I might wanna get one.
If I get a teaxis map how much water should I have for a baby in a 5' gallon tank :-)
Is that okay if i don't use the uva/uvb light ? Beside i can take out my turtles and put them in the outdoor cage for sunlight bath...
I can't find nutrafin Max anywhere! Do you still feed your turtles nutrafin Max? If so, where do you buy it? Thanks!
Kevin Mei You can find it at any petsmart or amazon or an online site. I do use nutrafin max and it is a really good brand of turtle food
I am located in the U.S. If you can not get your hands on the product (you should be able to easily) there are many other products what work well
PLEASE REPLY!!! Thanks
As lighting would a solar glo light be okay as it gives out uvb and uva and heat
+Bobby buck Yes that should be ok
What if the turtle doesn't bask?
what kind of water conditioner do you recommend I'm very nervous about getting a turtle
I use API Stress Coat
I'm looking to get 2 maybe 3 turtles for a 55 gallon, I'd rather have turtles that stay smallest possible so they can enjoy the tank and not out grow it.
Is there anything you would recommend? breeds? combos.. all male?
I'd like to have different breeds, but what ever most suits a community tank works for me
I just want happy turtles that get along ultimately lol
Thanks,
p.s. Awesome turtles they look well taken care of! :)
I'm getting 1 baby red ear slider turtle soon. It is about the size of a quarter. Do you think a 5.5 gallon tank is okay?
The general rule is 10 gallons for each inch the turtle is. I would recommend getting a minimum of 60 gallon aquarium so it could be enough when they grow.
5 gallon would be ok
How big is it now? Red eared sliders get pretty big. If it's a female it will most likely get to be around 10 or 12 inches but males only get around 7 or 8 inches. You'll need a lot of room for it, around 70 gallons or more and the tank has to be filled almost all of the way up so they have the most water possible. I keep mine in a kiddie pool that I turned into a turtle pond. :)
Julia Barrales where I live it's illegal to have less the 4 inch turtles
I have 8 hatching red eared sliders and 1 hatching yellow belly slider (all about 3 inches) in a 45 gallon aquarium. Is this OK?
Depends on the surface area really, some tanks have more volume only because they're deeper. Generally you do not want a deeper aquarium for turtles since they prefer shallower water. As long as there's enough room to bask and get some swimming activity for all turtles then it's enough.
noelle jett That is a little tight, you will need a bigger tank
Mohammad El Zein Correct, turtles love to swim, and they will get big as adults. Females get larger than males
have any of you ever got sick from a turtle? i've read so much about turtles carrying salmonella that getting one worries me.
I know this is 3 years ago, but imma answer anyway. Turtles do carry salmonella, but you'll only get it if you lick your fingers after touching their shells or defecation. They are generally safe though.
@@terrapin4930 yeah. Just wash your hands after.
i live in Kansas and i really want a turtle, but i don't know if the web sites you recommended ship here, i have a local pet co and i was wondering if i could get one there?
how much did the caramel pink albino slider cost:]
Help some of my moms friends have 2male and 1 female red ears sliders and a yellow bellied slider in a 20 gallon tank with no heat lamp no filter no heater and they have a small basking dock what should I do.
Tell them to watch the video then realize how cruel it is to put 3 turtles in 20 gallon tank
hay PLEASE HELP ME!! i have one black spotted turtle. .....he basks, eats really good, and looks normal. BUT he can't swim deep, he only swims on the top of the waters, and won't go to the bottom of the tank.... i m really worried about him ..
How big of a tank is he in? Is he still only swimming at the top?
I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing. I depends on whats going on. You may have too much water in your tank, your turtle may be young and is still new at swimming. Your turtle could also be staying to the top of the water due to temp reasons
I've fed my turtle processed reptile food for a long time, how should I get it to eat berries?
What stores have baby turtles?. I cantfind any and what about a 15 gal tank?
None, baby turtles are illegal to sell unless they are for Educational, research, display, purposes. No problem buying them online though, just agree that they are for those reasons. Don't be worrying about the FBI knocking your door down :P
You can get baby turtles in china town and a flea market
I'm afraid to ask how much those albinos cost?
Jessie, is gravel bad for turtles?
Not bad, just not the best option because if the gravel is small enough, the turtle can swallow it and dead
Jessie Erskine thanks
