    The beheaded guy was just someone who was listening to music, sleeping. And the murderer was allegedly just insane. Fuck this, im not sleeping at busses anymore.

      @@unhandydaddy5117 What's your source for that information? Because people found innocent by insanity plea actually go to an insane asylum for the rest of their life which is infinitely worse than prison because they don't even treat the inmates like they're human, because let's be honest the patients aren't anymore
      Edit: Didn't realize this was in Canada, things might be different there. That's fucked up if this is true though, no man who possesses no emotion whatsoever while literally stabbing a random innocent man repeatedly and cutting his head off should be able to roam freely.

    Wall Of Text WARNING:
    In case anyone is wondering what this case is, this is the 2008 Greyhound Bus Attack. Tim McLean was a carnival worker who was heading home from work on a Greyhound bus on the Trans-Canada highway. McLean fell asleep sometime around the ride while listening to music on his headphones. As he was passing Manitoba, the passenger sitting next to McLean, Vincent Li brandished a knife and started stabbing the sleeping McLean. A few passengers attempted to save McLean but were injured by Li. He then went back to McLean's body and decapitated him. Li started eating his body and showing the body parts to scared passengers outside. The police were called and a 6 hour stand-off in the bus happened, until Li attempted to escape and was arrested.
    Sadly, McLean was killed and Li was never given any court cases or charges and was instead sent to a mental asylum, where he would be released a few years later. Li is currently living life free.
    Meanwhile McLean's family has filed a lawsuit against Greyhound and Vince Li asking for a compensation of $150,000. Despite this, as of 2018 they have not received their compensation according to McLean's father.
    Otherwise, very sad and brutal story with no happy endings. R.I.P. Tim McLean and fuck Vince Li plus the Canadian Justice System.

      Not really. These questions get sound bites that can then be used to add colour to a written article/write-up. "There was blood everywhere, blood squirting - the floor of the bus is covered in blood".
      As a journalist, you can't describe the scene this way without someone/something corroborating it - you'd just be guessing otherwise. The interview just happened to make it unedited on TH-cam because it's horrific - lots of the time these questions don't get video coverage but potentially are later used in written coverage/for use in an anchor's teleprompter.

    • @ds90seph

      @The Venomous
      Worse (adjective) -
      1. of poorer quality or lower standard; less good or desirable.
      2. more ill or unhappy.
      (Adverb)
      - less well or skillfully
      (Noun)
      - a more serious or unpleasant event or situation.
      Yes, someone was decapitated. If not for the actions of a few of the men involved, multiple people could have lost their lives, or at the very least have been injured. That would have been "a more serious or unpleasant event or situation". It's a miracle more people didn't get hurt, so yes it easily could have been far worse. You can't compare something to itself genius, that's redundant. It's like saying "chocolate tastes worse than chocolate" which is nonsense.

    • @ds90seph
      @ds90seph 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @The Venomous Look I know what you're trying to say, but saying "if 2 or more people had gotten killed it would have been the same result" makes no sense. 2 deaths are inherently worse than 1 death no matter what, and the result is measurably worse by exactly that - a life. If it was someone in your family it would make a huge difference to you, so please don't equate a single murder to multiple murders. If everyone on the bus had been killed, for example, then it couldn't have been much worse than that could it? 1/37 vs 2/37 or 37/37.

    A lot of people don’t know one of the worst details: the man responsible is named Vince Lee, and he changed his name to Will Lee Baker in 2015 after he was released after spending just seven years in a psychiatric ward for the crime. As of 2017 he was granted independent living rights. This man is walking around free without any restrictions whatsoever having served zero prison time. No, this isn’t a rumor.

He was on his way to community college on the public bus here in LA and a man next to him out of nowhere pulled out a knife and started stabbing him in the face and chest, people just watched in fear and the man escaped and ran out. My friend was in the hospital for about a week before passing from his injuries. They caught the guy after they posted the video surveillance three days later, the attack was totally unprovoked and random. You never know what can happen, he was only 22 years old. RIP ❤️

One of them was a massive veteran who'd fought in Afghanistan on multiple deployments. He was far larger than Sovereign, and he flat out admitted that the moment Sovereign pulled his machete on him, he fled. The most terrifying part is that this guy, the victim, lost his life in broad daylight on a bus full of people. You may think that you are safe, surrounded by people in a public space, but no. All it took was one guy with a knife and no one did anything at all to help.
    I'm not blaming anyone for not helping, I understand that most people react to shocking events by running and saving themselves, it is human nature. I am simply pointing out just how horrific it is that no matter where you are, no matter who you're with, you are never truly safe.
