I have always used a paper clip and it works really well. Just straighten out a a bit of the paper clip then use some pliers to bend the last few millimetres at a right angle. Gets those red bits off the lock button without any dramas and doesn't mark or deform the plastic at all.
thanks, i stuck on the door look yesterday to replace speakers, thanks god i didnt break it , but im not comfortable with space to replace the speakers, so i cancel the work till find good solution, thanks for sharing
I'm glad you're here to help me through my painful task of replacing my window actuator/regulator... the bitch of a thing won't go anywhere without ore than 120nm torque... even then I struggle... That's one tough window handle there...
The bit at the top the air cent square doesn't come pff like that .. remove the door and push it down or you will snap the clip like i just did following this guys instructions
how do i get the door lock thing back on? just opposite to how we got it off? put the black part on and then pop the red clip in and its good to go or?
@@DIYChannelSteve will the door panel have to full come off for the rod to fully come up? i tried to put it on but don’t think the rod is coming all the way up
Hey mate thanks. For the video I successfully removed door trim and installed some new speakers. I put everything back together fine except now the two front locks don't work. Did u have any trouble with this? Everything's in place but when I push the lock down, the lock itself stays down and the button comes up. So in other words it locks but won't unlock. I'm starting to think I must have damaged the door lock pin and need to buy new ones. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hey hopefully you see this.... The 1st thing you removed the button for the lock on the door. That has come off in my driver door. So it's just the pin there. I'm just wondering what would be the best way to put the black button cover 5hing back onto the pin. I've tried doing it myself but it's like theres like a runner thing that the button has to go on ..
Hey, I dont have a car to show you sorry. If you can pop on to a car stereo shop, they might have somone that can show you what to do. Or if you live in Geelong I could show you.
+DIY Channel got it done, what a prick of a job the lock wouldn't engage on the striker, did my head in but turns out the screws were over tightened and put it out of alignment. thanks again mate.
Putting the door handles back on are a bit of a pain in the ass, just painted all mine silver. Can you take of the little stash compartment where you can put like a book or something in? On its own? I want to paint just that part too
I have not had to take that part out, but I would think that you still need to remove the door trim first and then use a flat blade screwdriver from the rear to push the tabs in. If you try to pull it straight out from the front you will damage the trim and the vent.
Was just wondering if could get any hits, once I've got the door trim off , want to install a speaker, can't find any great videos on how to, and prob haven't look enough and probably would be pretty straight forward but if anyone has any tips or hints please comment
When I took my door panel off, the door trim retainer fell out. Anyone knows where this goes in the assembly? It’s a small rectangular shape (like a frame), gears on one side on the inside, and opposite the gears on the other long side is wedge shaped.

yes, thats it
just make sure the rod is all the way up fully un-locked
@@DIYChannelSteve will the door panel have to full come off for the rod to fully come up? i tried to put it on but don’t think the rod is coming all the way up
No, door trim should be full on the door. Try latching the door just with a screwdriver and/or un-latching it. that might do it.
@@DIYChannelSteve for some reason its not work. i clip it on and the black thing slides right off again
may need to be replace. I did have some like that but if you dont touch it, it may still work as normal.

Not sure. I think it will be plastic welded in. If you break it out you will be gluing it back.
@@DIYChannelSteve best way to go is take it all off and tape around it then, thanks again mate
How do you take the air vent out on its own?? The front door air vents? Can you show me also
