Hey, I've got a 2 sets of keys with the fobs but only one works properly. Would I be able to use this method to replace my working key AND get a secondary key and fob to use as a spare for my 06 vz? That way I can throw out my older two sets
Off to Mister Minit for a new key and remote, ours cost $132.00 and only took 20 minutes to complete. The programing of our new VX remote was nothing like yours. Our new key and remote came with instructions to manually unlock the door, insert the key into the ignition, turn it on and wait 20 seconds, start the car and let it idle for 20 second and that's all there was to it.
I think that box only works so many keys though then you have to chuck it and buy another. Perhaps you should edit your description to include that info.
The programmer does 3 keys but I have successfully programmed 12 keys with the programmer I have .. after the 3rd key you might get a failed key every now and then but if you keep trying it works ...

Ok got programmer at Auto one $78.00, blank key head $43.00 Ebay, cut new blank $34.00. Some aftermarket key blanks with new key are shit and you'll need a brass one when it is cut. Cost $155.00. New key cut and programmed at locksmith $140.0. Just saying. Haven't used my programmer yet so it looks like a resell on Ebay - they only work 3 times so don't stuff up! They have unlocked programmers on AliExpress for $25.00 but I don't know if they work.
Watched the vid about programming a new vt commodore key. If the key cutter locksmith wants $40 to cooy the old blade pattern to the new blade (seems excessive) how much did he charge for the ODB1 diag plug and the new shell with electronics. I know an empty shell with new buttons and uncut blade is $10, but how much did it cost to buy and program a new blank key?

@spinnanz Well, I am guessing that they do have those ic chips on board which dies after few uses. You may get it working a few times afterwards. But surely they have done this on purpose to encourage sales

Hi Mate, Yes one of two things Was the car starting before you changed the keys ? If no its your starter motor. If yes then its the key not programmed properly.
All I do is turn the ignition on, run it for a short time and press the boot release button to check to see it it's programmed. I've used this method twice with no probs
That bit you lost completes the circuit from key to car just stick anything metal in there long enough to touch metal ring around ignition. Spend the $40 on gas for river hacking

No, It will not work via transferring signals as receiver computer in car does not recognise the signals any more but it will unlock the car manually and may come with an alarm.
With Map KF200 (plug n play programmer) which I have bought we tried do exactly what you did in Video Rambo, but the tool flash orange then went to red means it failed, what would the issue be?
Hi Karen, it is likely that the module KF200 is faulty or used before (Only Programmes 3 times). You should take the module back to shop get another one. hope it goes well

Ok my big Issue is, My car's ignition barrel seized. The person borrowing the car did not let me know, they just ripped out the ignition barrel and the immobilizer on the other end. and used a screw driver to turn over the immobilizer while the key was "against the circle". 3 months later. I have had 2 new keys programmed, 2 new ignition barrels installed. The keys turn the cars dash ON, there is no immobilizer error, only seatbelt, park break and SRS red lights coming on. I have spent almost 700$AUD and the auto elec wants 200 dollars to "bypass" the security of my VZ commodore so I can 'drive' it. EVERYTHING from the checks come out fine, but there is an issue with the BCM unit getting the message from the key to the starter relay. This car worked prior to me getting it back from my 'friend' who gutted the ignition lock etc. All I did was remove the blade part of the key to the new 'ignition barrel' key. And since then it would bring up dash lights, every car function except 'crank' it over. Someone please explain wtf and if i was wrong to change the key blade that suited the new ignition lock, and if some how that has stopped the bcm unit from sending the "this new recoded 350$ key is good. start the car'...
Sorry bro can't remember. May be you should go back to the shop and ask for a different programmer. Tell him its not working and they should swap it for ya. By they way whats the end result did the light on the programmer blinked as it blinked in the video ?
This is the same as using a scan tool, someones just written a code on an obd that follows the same steps as you would with the scanner.. id be suprised if this worked on a vz that required manual entering of a security code
you are not having issues starting the car-you simply cant start it. i had the exact same problem so i used a concrete bail in a drill and a needle file-8 mins ,problem solved

Chances are your programmer did not work as expected. Did you get all the lights come up same as video ?
They should tell you need a KF204 key with the KF200 plug n play together for it to work. Saves the hassle.

Jord Paul the computer which you plug in serves the purpose of wiping the old key details out and store the new one in.

Original Holden keys have a 57 or something written on the key. That's an original steel key. Aftermarket is only brass which will wear alot quicker

Yes, Its more like when you press key button device yells out and no one is listening. You need to program car computer so it will listen to it.

goint to take my car into EFI Evolutions the guy there can work with my commodore figured out what reall issue is for BCm to die on the car.

Looks like it was programmed partially with the error.
Disconnect batteries and do the process again.
Also computer only works 3 times
allgood got it sorted.still reads red.but everything works.its bcm relay jammed gave it a tap and away she goes

I think its welded in with silver. you will have to change the whole set or if you got iron and solder you can change the battery easily.

No it will not program existing key. Apparently there is no way to reset those key memory. Its once use only.
The map key programmer can programm up to three keys but my map programmers has done 6 keys and it was only suppose to only do 3 unprogrammed keys

No It will change the subnet mask of the key stored in the memory. More like renew the lease on that for a new tenant lol

Seems all good. But he didn't show if it starts the car. You can still get into the car with a bad key. But starting it is a different story.

VP don't have Chip keys . The immobilizer can be turned off by key or Hotwire in glovebox area or A piller depending on luxury level.

Go to their site and put your vehicle details in drop box
it should give you a model no.

you are not having issues starting the car-you simply cant start it.
i had the exact same problem so i used a concrete bail in a drill and a needle file-8 mins ,problem solved
