    I have really enjoyed your videos Hannah. They are always jam packed with really useful tips and ideas for the garden. I particularly loved your “future Covid” garden, such a clever way to highlight and discuss what we should be focusing on post Covid. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and beautiful garden with your community. I always feel so uplifted after watching you. It’s great to know there is a ever growing bunch of people out there very unhappy where our government is taking us. It enrages me how connected they are to the fossil fuel industry and how they are constantly lying to us to service the needs (and profits) of coal and gas. Thanks to you and your team and I look forward to future videos down the track. Bridget 👊

    Yours is, without a doubt, my favorite TH-cam channel. Not only (only?) gardening tips, but how to make the world a better, more just and happy place! Thank you! And whatever that amazing purple-flowering mass of plants are behind your cold frame with the mustard - they are gorgeous.

    Im watching from Ireland, so these videos dont really apply to the climate and soils I'm gardening in, but Hannah is a joy to watch... Probably have a few Irish roots as well young Maloney!

    I keep wishing and hoping you’ll upload some more amazing videos! Your Crisis Gardening series was incredibly inspiring and very informative. You undoubtedly inspired lots of people to have much more confidence in their approach to gardening. No namby-pamby faffing about, stick it in the soil and let nature take its course! Thank you for encouraging me to enjoy gardening with such joyous freedom, without worrying about the regimentally of the dos and don’ts!

      @@GoodLifePermaculture I bet there’s lots of people like myself who keep checking their notifications, to see whether you’ve managed to find the time to create some more amazing videos! I see Australia is currently experiencing a mouse plague, let’s hope climate change isn’t making species metamorphize for survival. The last thing you’d need is mice learning how to make little boats! Your last series of videos were very educational and proved to be a really good antidote for the Covid - You have exceptional teaching skills, as you impart knowledge on the macro and micro level both at the same time!

    Just found your channel and subscribed immediately. Just getting into Permaculture and looking to get my first allotment. My plan is to have a community bed where I can grow extra food which can be given to either a homeless shelter or food bank as part of my contribution to my community. My daughter is also going to have a bed where she can learn to grow not only food but her creativity, compassion and understanding of the Earth. Be safe. X

    Hanna thanks for your lovely energy and for sharing all your wisdom... Do you chop and drop when you cut the growths? And could I just but a thick layer of mulch on top to "kill" the manure at the end ? I'm also curious about that beautiful purple flowering plant behind you, thanks ✌️

    • @GoodLifePermaculture
      @GoodLifePermaculture  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can chop and drop the green manure growth over the season, however in winter I only do this *if there isn't heaps and heaps* (as this encourages slugs and snails). In summer I def do this to cover the soil/prevent evaporation. In tropical climates you could chop and drop all year round. But it will never kill the manure crop - most of it will just grow back through. That gorgeous purple flower is a Mexican sage bush (Salvia Leucantha) :-).

    love your videos - glad you are not doing anymore 'crisis' series (even though I loved the content!) I do not think that 'crisis' is a good word to be using - it implies that this is a time that is something to just get through and come out the other side to continue we ewe were at. I am pretty sure you think as I do that this time is a pivot point around which we can make the changes required to make our world a better place and to make sure our planet thrives. Look forward to the next 'series'.
    Great info about green manure - had one in but was not sure about when to end it and how - this answered that perfectly, even though they had flowered, I went straight out there and cut, watered and covered - DONE! I did love seeing the diversity of flowers come out (I had a 29 seed type mix from Eden Seeds!) and the insects it brought... but my objective is to improve our very poor soil... Also loved the tip about mustard greens as a soil cleansing crop - that is cool!
