Cant blame Cloud for being "dense". He still has the 16 year old maturity level after being locked away for 5 years. Aerith's way of expressing her little jealousy is really good here, she still keeps it respectful to Jessie and not being annoying about it at all (yes it's normal to show jealousy especially when the one you liked is involved)

They are trying soo hard to make Aerith such a lovely, innocent and kind woman that she becomes annoying a few times. To be honest I didn't mind when she died. Even Yuffie is a lot more loveable than her.

As much as I loved Jessie... Kinda with Cloud here... Being a couple requires both parties to agree on something... Plus Wedge especially warned Cloud everything was a game to Jessie. As much as she clearly liked Cloud, he never reciprocated. He only ever reciprocates with Tifa and Tifa alone. By Aerith's logic, Yuffie is his girlfriend too... which is an issue in the West as Yuffie is 16... though really... mentally.. Cloud is also 16...
No he doesnt only reciprocate with Tifa. Jessie made serious moves before she ultimately died
@@ErenDenizMert I don't think you understand what reciprocate means. It means to match or return said affection. Cloud pretty much never does this with Jessie, with him at BEST giving her a vague "we'll see." He's never as warm with her nor does he act with intent with her. Aerith comes closest but even then he's still distant in ways he is not with Tifa. He's never vulnerable with Jessie EVER.

I got tired of both Aerith and Tifa CONSTANTLY inquiring about Cloud's relationship to other women and acting insecure or doubtful after his answers.
After doing this repeatedly between Remake and Rebirth, it got annoying and completely devalued these characters' self-esteem. So irritated by how many times it was repeated!!!!

He still has the 16 year old maturity level after being locked away for 5 years. Of course he still has complexities with reading and understanding emotions like any teenager would added with the persona of Zack, Jenova/mako infusion, and his own original antisocial and awkwardness.
