My father signed me out of high school when I turned 16, He was a farm hand with 5 kids, I was the oldest. I came back home when I turned 17 so he could sign me into the Marine's. I took the test to get into the Marine's, it had 50 questions on it. I could only answer the first 5 because I hadn't gone to High School. The sergeant gave me a 5 minute warning. So I just started checking a answer on each question. I scored 96 on the test. I got to choose if I wanted to go in for 3 or 4 years. I choose 3 years. They sent me to Electronics School after boot camp. I got out of the Marine's April 22, 1965 . Just before Viet Nam. I went to college on the G.I. bill. I retired from Bell Labs as a Engineer. There was a angel over my shoulder.

I worked with a guy a year older than me who was called to join the army during Vietnam. He was in a large room and they were assigning everyone their orders. People kept being called to go to Vietnam and people were crying. His name gets called to report to Florida.
If we assume each answer of the 50 had a mark of 2 and you were able to guess 48 right with 5 being known and the other 43 not, this would put your current situation at about 0.0001% though this is far from the actual number as we cant really estimate the amount per question and how you didnt know the answers, so i'd estimate you had like 1/100000000000 chance idrk tho
I was at a high school reunion talking with one of my classmates. We had gone to school together since third grade, but had never been more than casual acquaintances. She told me that she was a social worker. It turns out that we worked in the same hospital and with the same patients on the same ward. We worked different shifts. I would leave an hour before she came in. She was using her married name and I signed as R. Cote, RN. She had seen my name, but did not really think about it because she assumed I was female. We had worked together for 3 or 4 years.
1 in a Million: got drunk in the Denver airport, with a guy wearing a youth softball league t-shirt, i'm on the way home from Nam. friendliest and funniest guy to drink Scots whiskey with. years later, watched Mork. stunned, that's who it was. what a wonderful human being. god bless you Robin.

When I was 9 my family went to a little town in Colorado. We went to this diner style place for breakfast and I ordered a stack of pancakes. The place catered to farmers who apparently like to have a big breakfast, so the portion was huge, even for an adult. But I was really hungry, and the pancakes were so good I ate everything.
The waitress came by and was surprised I'd eaten everything. She asked, "Did you put it in your wooden leg?"
So I took it off, looked inside and said "nope"
The waitress had no idea I was actually an amputee. I guess I gave her one hell of a story.
Was in a snowball war when I was a kid in my neighborhood. About 8 people on each team. The rules were you get tagged you’re out for that round. I was last left on my team against 4 left on the others. Holed up in our snow fort at the end of the street. The other 4 decided to just rush me, after all “he can’t get all of us before we get him”
I thought essentially “screw it” and lobbed 4 snowballs high up in a huge arc in rapid succession. Each one found its mark right on top of their heads. I was barely aiming, was never that good when I actually tried.
I rode that high the rest of the day. First time everyone wanted me on their team in my life.
I know of a guy that was sailing around the world. One day they saw something in the water that looked like a body so they slowed down. Sure enough, it was a person in the water. The really amazing thing was, the person was alive, just treading water in the middle of the ocean.
He turned out to be a merchant marine who had fallen off his ship. He was sure he was going to die as he watch the ship sail away, then about 15 minutes later a sail boat came along and rescued him.
They were even able to call his ship on the radio and got them to stop so they could return the lost crew member.

My parents grew up just a short distance from each other, in tiny towns in the panhandle of Nebraska. My dad competed with some of my Mom's classmates in wrestling when they were in high school. They competed in the same 4H competitions.
They actually met in Tennessee. See, my dad and his twin brother had gone to work in Washington D.C., and my uncle was dating a girl who he had met back in Nebraska.
That girl happened to be my mom's best friend, and they travelled together to Tennessee for a 4H trip, and my dad and uncle drove down so my uncle could see his girlfriend. My dad ended up talking with my mom and thus began a relationship that was long-distance for basically the entire year before they got married.
And they've been happily married for over 25 years, now, so somehow it worked out.

a couple years ago i was sent to a psych ward and within 2 days of me being there 5 more girls with the same first name as me were admitted and 3 of us had the same last initial
1 in a million story: my family owns a vacation house in Maine and there’s a basketball hoop there. My brother and I got some toy ball stuck in a tree that was by the road and about 30ish feet up. I decide to get the basketball and punt it up to try and knock the ball down. I’m by the street when I punt the basketball which is roughly 60 or maybe 70 feet away from the hoop. I punt the basketball looking for it to hit the ball, I missed horribly and was disappointed until I saw the basketball swish only net on the hoop and I began screaming cause not only did I see it but my brother also witnessed it haha great times
I had a rare disorder as a child that leaves most people developmentally disabled, but I made a near-perfect recovery. I have some motor issues, but while I'll never be able to do sports, I can otherwise live a regular life. I've met another person who had the same disorder. She was in a wheelchair, couldn't speak and had a feeding tube. It definitely put things into perspective for me.

Bro I got y’all beat. Today I was playing Minecraft with my friend and found a skeleton trap. For those who don’t know a skeleton trap is the only way to get skeleton horses in survival. You find a skeleton horse out in the wild and lightning strikes it and now you have four skeleton horses with skeletons riding them. A skeleton trap happens on one and every 13000000 chunks or something like that. Then a couple hours later I’m playing with a different friend and he finds a skeleton trap near spawn. Oh boy I wish I was old enough to win the lotto

friend of mine threw a pencil at my left hand (my hand was in a “J” shape) and it must’ve hit the perfect degree angle or something because it flew straight into my right hand. we were both dumbfounded and so was 3-4 other classmates.

So many 1 in a 1,000,000 stories. Here’s a few:
1. My dad, my brother, and I were driving to a restaurant and we usually have the radio before we start driving but we forgot to turn it on. I, for no apparent reason started singing, “Ooh, baby, do you know what that’s worth?”
As I’m singing this my dad goes to turn on the radio and Belinda Carlisle finishes the verse I was singing perfectly, “Ooh, heaven is a place on Earth...”
I basically sang a song that happened to be on the radio exactly when I was signing it. Also, the radio station that was on rarely plays anything from the 80’s so it made it all the more shocking.
For anyone who doesn’t know “Heaven Is A Place on Earth” is a song by Belinda Carlisle that came out in 1987.
2. My brother and I were playing with dice and just rolling them for fun. We both see how many double numbers we can roll. My brother rolls two 1’s and tries again and nothing. I try just for fun, not expecting to get one. BAM! Two 1’s. I roll again. Two 1’s. I roll 5 more times and it’s all double numbers (although it wasn’t all 1’s) I rolled 7 doubles in a row and each time I got a double my brother and I got more excited and scared at the exact same time lol.
3) There was a time where my dad, my grandma, and I had just finished playing Yahtzee( dice game) and it was very late, like 2 am. My dad needs to go to work early so he’s getting ready to leave home as he lives 30 minutes away. I tell him jokingly, “If I get a Yahtzee you have to play one more game.” A Yahtzee is when you roll 5 dice and all of them are the same number. Usually you have three rolls to get all of the five dice to be the same number. So, my dad says, “Sure but you have to get it in one spin and with your 5’s. I roll and only get two 5’s and ask, “two spins?” He says, “Sure.” Fully not expecting me to rolls three 5’s in one more spin. I pick up the dice roll and lo and behold, on my table was sitting three 5’s. I look up in shock and my dads face is just sheer regret for betting me anything. Yahtzee’s are somewhat rare though especially only given two spins and he gave me the number I had to roll. He ended up getting home around 5am and had to go to work at 8am. Felt bad but good at the same time lol.
4. The last one I’m going to share and most weird one in my opinion. My dad, brother, and I were playing cards at my dads house. We played on the floor and used couch pillows to sit on. My dad used 2 couch pillows and we finished playing so he got up and the two pillows were stacked in a way that made the top pillow a weird angle and very unlikely for something to stand upright on. My dad asked for the card box because he was going to put them away and I was in the kitchen, which was where the box was. I decided to throw it to him. It stayed up for a while and then landed on the pillows that my dad was using to sit, a d it was upright. It looked like someone grabbed it midair and landed it on the pillow. Mind you the pillow was at like a 40 degree angle so it looked impossible for it to land on the pillow and the card box was empty. It just stayed like that for about a minute and then we finally grab it. We’re so shocked and we don’t believe what we had just seen. We even tried to stand the card box on the pillow again and we couldn’t do it. I don’t know how it happened and always think about how to this day.

When I was around 6-8 years old me and my family went on a boat ride. Everyone was getting in the water except me and my grandpa. I couldn't swim at the time and was kinda scared of the ocean. Well, I was helping him fish and I caught something. He grabbed the rod and reeled it in. When he got it out of the water, it was a big, stingray looking fish. The thing landed right in front of me and i freaked out. I ran to the seat next to me, jumped off of it and landed on the side of the boat. I played there until it was safe to come down and my mom thought I was a ninja.

My 1 in a million story. I was at Circus Circus and I was playing this game where you would drop a ball and it would bounce around and land in a hole with a set amount of tickets so I ended up playing so much I realised the ball dropped consistently so i would drop it at the right time to get the jackpot and I ended up getting over 10,000 tickets and my streak ended when I ran out of tokens.

I was at a small party at a friend's house when I was 20 or so and we all convinced one of the guys to teach us how to play poker. None of us had played before, so it wasn't a real game that involved money or anything. He shows us all the various combinations we could get 2 of a kind, 3 of a kind, straight, flush, etc. Then he put everything back, shuffles the deck a few times, and deals to about 4 of us.
I looked at my cards and blinked, I had an idea of what I was looking at, but I couldn't believe it. I just flip them around and say, "This is good, right?"
I had a Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of Clubs (maybe one was a heart.) The guy lost his shit, threw his cards down, and refused to play with us for the rest of the night. He didn't believe that the very first poker hand I had ever been dealt was almost a Straight Royal Flush.
Also, not "one in a million", but I was at a company event where they were having a raffle. The MC was going around having various people draw tickets out of the basket. She comes up to me, holds the bowl over my head, and (out of 200+ tickets) I pull out my own. XD
I lived in Vicenza, Italy back in 2014-2015 for 10 months. Travelled a lot around the country, and I was still in high school (16/17 year old). I’m living in the states again, but one time I ran into one of my old acquaintances from italy, a girl who was a year ahead of me in the scientific program of highschool in Italy. She was studying in Atlanta and I about shit myself when I saw her.
Once while on a trip with some friends in Scotland, I was about to go back into the hotel with my friend late at night and saw a man struggling to get the door open because of his suitcase. We helped him and he said “Cheers” in what I noticed to be a Northern English accent like mine. While we waited for the lift I pointed this out, and it turned out he was from the same area my mum was from. He asked who my mum was and I told him her old maiden name. I shit you not, this guy went to school with my mum. It was so weird, and I wouldn’t have found out had I not recognised the very accent that I half the time don’t seem to have.
i was at a middle school dance for every school in the county (about 500 kids) they give you a raffle ticket when you enter. my friend was explaining that it was for a raffle. when everyone was sat down for the raffle my friend said “trust me non of us will win.” and then my friend won the raffle
It's easy to make a 1 in a million thing happen to you. Just get a 10-sided dice (available from any larger toy store which caters to role playing games) and roll it 6 times. The particular sequence of numbers which you come up with had a 1 in a million chance of happening, no matter what the sequence is.
People don't seem to realise that "one in a million" chances don't have to be rare. They can be quite common. :)
I live on the Isle of Wight and I've been on fossil hunting tour. I found the tip of a rib bone of an iguanodon, I still have it on my bookcase of oddities.
I grew up in a small town in KY. Lived in WA and OH and CA. Living in SoCal I started doing photoshoots with models. One asked me where I was from. I tell her where I grew up. She tells me she met a guy and he and she moved to his hometown, to my same home town, where she lived a few years then returned back to CA. I was in shock. No one had ever even heard of Owensboro, KY that I’d ever met before.
One time a wasp flew into my room and I tried to respectfully remove it from my room in a cup with paper over the lid, but i accidentally chopped its head off and it stayed twitching there for three days
About 4 years after high school, I was on vacation in Oregon in a bowling alley in a really small town and through a series of random clues, I realized the person in the bowling lane next to me was a person who I ate lunch with every day in high school in my hometown of Palmer, Alaska. The only reason I even put 2 and 2 together was because they had an Alaska shirt on which of course us Alaskans always love to recognize each other when we travel, so that made me look at the name on the screen and it was a very unique name that I've only known one person in my entire life to have and ended up being that guy!
We live in Utah and went to visit my dad’s cousins that live in Nebraska. Middle of nowhere, right? There was this girl at church that I kinda hit it off with, there always seems to be that one person. But it turns out my parents knew her parents and had been in the same church congregation several hundred miles away and fourteen years earlier, when she and I had both been babies
I’m better than average at soccer but by no means that great. One day on the high school team I came on as a substitute and proceeded to run from my box to their box, dribbling past everyone and chipping it into the bottom left corner with my weak foot. I don’t know what got into me. I have never been capable of anything like that before or since. I felt like Messi in that moment. I’ve never dribbled so expertly in my life since.

I played AYSO for only two years (had never played before I was 16) before I aged out at 18 yo. One time I am running full speed down the sidelines, dribbling, trying to get it to the forwards, when I was tripped. I rolled over at full speed, did not miss a step, just kept running and dribbling. I have never done that before or since.

I was 5 and learned about the spitting cobra so i tried and it came natural to me, it made long car trips more fun until my family one day realised that it was me at around the age of 9, these days I take this superpower and punish rude people on cloudy days hahaha (joking of course)

I went to shake the pouch before opening it and it tore mid swing.
It flew across my kitchen and landed on the kitchen table, about 8 feet away, upright, in the napkin holder, leaving a comet trail of cheese power behind it.
Junior year of college, I'm studying abroad in London. A friend from high school is studying in Brighton and comes up to hang out and do some touristy crap. One evening, on the Tube back towards my dorm, we have to switch lines (I want to say at Charing Cross station? not sure though). The doors open and we are about to get off, but are temporarily taken aback because waiting to enter the car at the same set of doors is our high school French teacher. In the about 5 seconds we have to get on and off the Tube, we say "Monsieur!!", he introduces us to his new wife (who is a beautiful woman for probably being in her sixties and I hope I look as good as her when I'm that age), there's some hugs and we wave goodbye. (We later felt a little stupid because we had nowhere to be and could have stayed on that train and caught up for real.)
We were so happy about his new wife because he'd been widowed once and then had his next fiancée die before they married, and he was such an awesome classy old guy type who drove a Jaguar and was rumored to have once worked for the CIA, so we always thought it was a damn shame that he was alone while we were in high school. A few years later, I was skimming the alumni magazine (which I almost never look at) and find out that his beautiful new wife had died in a car accident 😢
Well, I didn't spin out but despite me having rarely played Mario Cart, the vehicle I was driving started to loose traction and drift, I literally just moved the wheel calmly to get us thro the snowed over round about. Dad and me talked about it for a bit after. Still makes me smile
About three years after getting out of high school I was dating a guy and we flew from Alaska where we lived to Oregon to go visit his mother. She lived in a really small town in the middle of nowhere and we decided to go bowling at the town bowling alley. Soin the lane right next to us is two guys, one of them who has on an Alaska t-shirt. I happened to look up at the screen where you put your names on the score sheets and one of the guys was named Boddy. Now I've only ever met one person in my entire life with that nameso I walked over to them and asked if he went to Palmer High School which is the name of my high school. he did. It turns out it was a guy that I ate lunch with every single day in high school LMAO so crazy
I was at a high school band rehearsal one day and we were doing a show based on Greece. There was a storm predicted to come through that day, and we were in a rush to get everything rehearsed that we needed to do so that we could either go into the band room and finish rehearsal there, or just leave entirely. We got around to a point where we were playing summer nights, and our arrangement had this really cool long note that came up right at the end of the song. Well we do a complete run of the song, including all of our marching sets and whatnot, and the last set of the arrangement is where we stop and give it our all for that long note. The very moment that we stop walking in the long note hits, a bolt of lightning comes down from the sky and strikes right in front of us. It was simultaneously the most epic and terrifying moment. The only thing that could have made it any better is if it had struck while we were playing greased lightning, but I feel like the odds were probably too slim for that to happen.
I foster kittens- one kitten came to me because a hawk had caught it was flying over a busy road. The hawk dropped it on the busy road but right in front of a woman who rescues kittens. She jumped out, stopped traffic, scared the hawk away and brought him to me. I named him Rakkì (lucky in Japanese). I raised him until he was adopted by a wonderful family ❤️🐈⬛❤️. Glad he wasn’t hawk food ❤️
I was playing cornhole with my friends and as I threw the bean bag, some guy hit it midair with an empty beer can and I made it because of him
Oh man! I have the exact same rehab story! 😱 I was in a treatment center with this girl named Hannah on the east coast. I left and relapsed pretty much immediately and it took me about a year to get sober again. When I did, it was an absolute miracle I got the opportunity to go to rehab in the west coast. So I’m sitting on the other side of the country in this large women’s AA meeting, and I look across the room and I’m like man that girl looks familiar...So after the meeting I walk up to her and am like “Hey you know you look exactly like a girl I know back home” She looks dead at me, stone faced and says “ Hapi it’s me. Hannah”. I absolutely lost my mind. I still can’t believe to this day that we would end up in the same place, so far away from home, for the same shit all over again. It says a lot about recovery success rates too though- But happy note, I’ve been clean and sober for over three years now completing that program, and she also finally pulled her stuff together and has about two years I believe! So it is possible if you do the work people suggest you do!

Shits a beast to beat, I’ve seen so many more people fall than stay standing and I’m grateful for anyone who finds a way up and out. I’ll be coming up on 6 years myself. Still with my program, and definitely grateful to have found it, it seems to be the only way that’s worked for me- and I’ve tried every other way before that. It was Last house on the block for me. I’m glad the door stayed open.
When i was hearing my parents talking about a robbery while i bottle flip subcounsiosly and i realised the bottle is not landing and i fucking threw it to the ceiling and hit me on my head and land on the bottlecap while im cursing the bottle and when i see my achivments i fucking kick it coz i dont like it

I had a graduate Econometrics professor who was additionally my academic advisor (a university in New England). For spring break, I went to Puerto Rico, and stayed the first night in Ponce, at a place called the Hotel Melia. I was talking to a local at around 2am, in a mini-lobby on the 3rd floor, and an old guy comes out of his room to ask us to quiet down. It was my Econometrics professor 🤣
In 1965 or 1966 my mother was on a road trip with a friend in South Carolina when they saw a couple of guys surfing. They had never seen anyone doing this before though they had heard of it. They stopped when one of the surfers came up to the beach so my mother and friend talked to the guy for a while, but it turned out he was married so they left before the other surfer came in.
in 1967 my mother's room mate in collage had been writing to her brother's room mate in the Air Force, stationed in the Azores.
My mother's room mate was getting married so asked my mother if she wanted to write to him.
She didn't, really, but she put the guy's address away and forgot about it until she got pneumonia. She was board so she ended up writing this crazy letter to him.
When his assignment in the Azores ended he was sent to Travis Air Force Base in California but had some leave to visit his parents in Oregon. He stopped off in Michigan to meet this crazy girl he'd been writing to. They fell in love at once and my mom quit her job and moved to California.
They dated until his enlistment ended in 1968 and married.
In case you haven't figured it out already, the other surfer in South Carolina was my dad. My parents were married until mom passed in 2016.

My father's aunt and my mother's aunt both worked as nurses on the same hospital ship in WWII. We don't know if they were friends or they hated each other, but the certainly knew each other.
It would be impossible to know if we encountered (or nearly encountered, passing withing a few feet) the people we would later meet and marry.

My dad and I were watching the news. There was this segment talking about some rogue POS who was caught on surveillance vandalizing a bunch of cars and random buildings. I immediately recognized one of the buildings as an after school program I attended as a kid. Just a coincidence. Next, they're doing that thing where they interview civilians on the street, and wtf.. there's my 5th grade social studies teacher! (totally unrelated to the aforementioned building). My dad and I are getting a kick out of this, so we rewind and call my mother and sister to watch. So we continue to watch the rest of the story. They interview a few more people and my dad starts to lose it. "That's Dave! I know him!" Apparently he's the guy who fixed my car 6 years ago. Seriously fk weird... for context, we live in one of the most populated cities in America, so this these things just don't really happen.
Also, mine and my dad's license plates were almost the same... off by only two characters (they were bought used, years apart, & different manufacturers). My plate was XXXXXAA, and my dad's was XXXXXBB. Literally, if you calculate the chances of finding our license plates in the wild, it would be something like 1 out of 2.2 BILLION. Please correct my math if I'm wrong, but honestly... mind bending.
Assuming every position could be either a number or a letter, that would be 1 in 78,364,164,096. But if the first 5 places could only be digits and the last two could only be letters, it becomes only 1 in 67,600,000. I'd need more information to do a proper calculation.
My daughter was at an arcade playing this game where you won tickets and turned them in for prizes...she was playing this game intently winning a few tickets here and there...finally she was down to one token. I jokingly said, watch, you'll hit the jackpot with your last token...and that's exactally what happened...she literally emptied out the machine, happiest day of her young life! ❤️
I had an uncle who had been struck by lightning...twice. He died when his insulin went bad when his power unknowingly cut out over ten years later. He also used to win those giant prizes at amusement parks for that game with throwing a ring at a bunch of bottles...

So For my story I was on a Emirates flight from Dubai back to New York. I was in Economy for the class selection because I don’t make enough money to upgrade😅 The plane was a A380 and from what I known, the Plane looked Beautiful! As I sat down to get comfy/Wait for takeoff. I saw a Steward Coming down the Aisle and stopped where I was and said “Excuse me, are you Mr. Dmk?” I replied “yeah, that’s me” he then asked to see my Pass. I gave it to him, and after a examination of it, he handed it back to me, smiled, and said “You have been upgraded to business class, follow me.” At that Point I was stunned. I didn’t even pay extra for an upgrade. The next few hours I got a Good meal in and Watched some movies as well! Idk why they chose me as an upgrade but from what I saw online they probably had some reasons:
Frequent flyer program: I had been a Member of the program so from what I known, your chances increase if you are a member in it so I thought that could’ve been it or their way of saying thanks for being Loyal.
Look the part: I know that If someone wants to be in buisness Class, they gotta look buisness with a nice suit. I was wearing one when that happened so maybe they thought I deserved it because of that.

bought our house from one family in oregon. met their daughter at school in my class. constantly saw her around town. then i bumped into her in an airport in MAUI HAWAII.
I remember once I was in a summer camp and we were playing dodgeball. This was back in like 1st grade, and the oldest kids were about highschool age. The oldest kids were the most athletic and always won. They were standing in a group and talking while little old me on the other side of the gym thought “why not throw the ball at them?” I picked one up and threw it across the gym. The ball hit one of them in the shoulder, then bounced to the next shoulder then to the next, knocking all three of them out of the game. They were furious, but that is how I became popular for a day.
At an arcade in Wisconsin I went there when I was 8 or so and theres a hammer game that you have to hit it at a certain strength to get a jackpot and the Jackpot is 500 points. Got it 3 or 4 times in a row. My brother and father gave me all their points to get a lava lamp. They didnt have any in stock but at least I got a 30 foot giant slinky.
About a year ago, I had just left the 4th grade. My 4th grade teacher was down the hall and at the end of the day we could just sort of roam freely until our bus was called. My 4th grade teacher tells me that she saw my best friend from another school I went to (in a completely different area)
from 2nd grade. The friend was having a small talk conversation and apparently he was talking about his friends. He said “I had a friend named (my first name), he is my best friend but he moved to (town) in third grade.
And then my teacher said “Wait, I had a student named (first name)! You aren’t talking about (first name, last name) are you? And he said yes. It really is a small world.
i got kinda one, this will probably never happen again, but when i was younger my grandmother was getting me a brand new game from gamestop that was 60$, we weren't broke or anything, but beneath my foot was a 50$ bill, so basically that day i got a brand new game for only 10$
To make this not very long, was driving on back road, secondary highway, like 3am, deer appears out of no where, hit it dead on, messes up the car really good, mostly cosmetic, but it still ran, no overheating, etc. So I continue driving it to get back to civilization. Pull up my Ins. stuff to find out my Ins. had been cancelled. Driving home trying to figure out how I'm going to pay for the dang car. About an hour and a half later, about an hour away from home, a guy drunk passes out behind the wheel, crosses the highway and smashes into me head on. Car a total loss, his Ins. covered it 100% because he was arrested on site, after they woke him up...

My friends say that I am a reality warper. Too many to count.... 1)I was at a soccer game, and went down a few rows to talk to my friends, walking back, got hit square on the back of the head by a ball kicked out into the stands. 2) I was coming up on an intersection in the rain, driving too fast, hit the breaks, and the car started to spin out. When I was about 90 degrees off, I hit the gas, and managed to get a grip on the road, and right into a gas station lot. Did this right in front of a cop, who pulled in and asked me what the hell I was doing. I was in shock, and just said "I lost control". He called me an idiot, but let me go. No ticket. 3)my toddler was on a platform on a jungle gym. she fell off the side, and I caught her by the ankle as she was going down. ONE HANDED. No idea how I did that. Many many more like that.
When I was younger I was really good at crane machines. My mother was getting her Masters degree and would bring us to a Main Event type place that had a buffet for the customers every weekend while she studied. So I became pretty good. One day, there was this little girl who wanted one of those expensive glass eye teddy bears from a machine. I watched her play a few rounds before she turned to let me go. I won the bear, handed it to her, and then won a cat for myself. She sat there in awe. I felt like a superhero.

I was playing a softball game with friends, and perfectly hit the ball into another friends glove on the opposing team. The opposing player did not even have to flinch. He was not even paying attention. All he knew was that the ball had landed in his glove, with 0 effort on his part. My team lost the game due to this. For quite a while the catch was called the lazy catch of a lifetime. This was thirty years ago and I still wonder, what are the odds?
A friend and I cut a pencil in half with a piece of paper. We tried it again and again but we could never get it to work, as it required a perfect angle
I was working in a backroom warehouse, and I was asked to get several boxes of pillows down from the top racks. These racks are like 25 feet tall. The forklift had been broken for a few weeks so we would just spiderman up and toss down what we needed. While on top of the rack I reached high up to pull some boxes down when an old nasty cup of soda (which was left up there out of view) fell on me. This caused me to lose my balance and fall backwards off the top. Somehow, I had time to remember that there was a pallet jack and a "L cart" just below me. I spun around so I could see the obstacles an avoided both, while landing on my feet with no injuries. I seemed to happen in slow motion.
A kid in my math class decided to throw a pencil at another kid, the other kid didn’t react at all, didn’t get ready to catch it or anything, even though he knew it was coming, and it landed perfectly in his hand
Once while on a road trip with my family we were in the middle of the New Mexican desert. Hadn’t passed another car in hours when in the distance we spotted a dust cloud from a rig hauling junker cars. We laughed and said that it must be our uncle -- whose job was buying junker cars from around the country and reselling them. As we got closer to the truck we realized that it WAS our uncle! We stopped and chatted for a bit laughing about how small the country seemed to be getting.
I was placed in foster care in early 2000 and found myself being adopted in 2001. The day I was adopted I got a letter saying that my birth mother is dead. I then forgot about it until I moved into a group home in September of this year. I was watching one of my roommates and realized that the handwriting was almost identical to the writing on the letter. I later realized that one of my roommates looked strangely familiar. As it turns out she is the sister of my birth mother.
I heard a story
somebody was interviewed at a company and then went to another company to interview at a couple of days later and while he was there in the lobby waiting to be called in the room he got a phone call and heard a Voice on the other end as well as in the same room as him telling him that he hadn't gotten the job for the first interview and it turned out that the person who interviewed him was there for a meeting with one of the higher-ups there because companies work together and decided to call him while he was waiting.

I was once at school during one of those days that basically nobody showed up because of some extreme snowfall. I had gym class, and that day they had decided to merge all the gym classes together. i was playing some pass volleyball in one corner, but one time the ball rolled away. i chased it, bent down to grab it, and a basketball I didn't see came straight at my head from the side. i lifted my hand, caught the ball mid-air and then realized what happened.
The story of the kid tripping down hill and doing a flip reminded me of something I saw during my first week of high school. Was in the cafeteria area looking out the window when I saw an older kid walking across a paved area towards the building. As he stepped off the pavement onto soil his feet went out from under him, did a complete flip forwards and landed back on his feet. To this day I don’t know whether he did it on purpose or not, he was only walking and didn’t seem to have any sort of run up.
Also a high school story, to pass time waiting for our teacher someone decided to start throwing an eraser around the room. It landed on my desk so I just threw it without thinking or looking where it was going. Across the room I heard a kid say ow, then tell everyone to be careful not to throw it back to me because I have “mega aim”, it had hit him on the nose. Still live on the high that fluke gave me
When I was around 10 years old I was just being an annoying kid and asking my dad what everything was called in the car. I point at the radio and say what’s that called, it’s called a radio I say well it’s doesn’t say radio, he says here I’ll turn it on, I shit you not the second he turns it on we hear the word “radio” in a cheerful tune. If that’s from a song can someone please send me a link cause I’ve been looking for it for years
I think there's probably a few songs with the word "radio" in them, but the one which springs to my mind is "Video killed the radio star."
My brother, who had just gotten back to town from Yellowstone, calling me: "Hey fucker where ya at rn?"

My dad was at a work raffle and everyone was talking about the prizes, the top one being expensive construction equipment. My dad looked at his colleagues and told them he was going to win it because the boss favored him. He ended up winning it, and all his colleagues were shocked. My dad was never the favorite, but his lie started talk within his colleagues 💀
This was around 6 years ago, but the moment was so short a few finer detail are a bit hazy. I once tried opening a slightly, larger than hand-sized, wooden box (rectangle, if you want specifics). It was actually quite simple looking and cute, from what I remember (I was 14). From what I recall, all of the sides were flat except for the little, wooden knob on one base side and was held there by a magnet. To open it, you had to move the knob across the surface from one end to the other. If you let go of it while in the middle of it, the knob will go right back to where you originally started. I opened it in 5 minutes on the first try. This was at a sort of shopping even at the school I used to go to and little stands were put up in the gym around midterms. The box was handcrafted by the people who ran that stand. I think they said that I was the second person that day to open the box (I'm pretty sure it was getting a little bit late, but I can't remember). I tried it again and gave up after ten minutes. I think I wanted to buy it, but I think they said that it was 60$. Shame, I only had 20$ on me. I never saw them again after that day.
Me and my parents went on a flight to Jacksonville Florida from Detroit. Pretty small flight. Kind of an obscure time. I sat next to my parents and directly behind me on the plane was my aunt, none of this was planned. It was odd enough that we were going to Jacksonville at the same time, even weirder we were on the same flight and right next to each other. Then on our way back, she was on our same flight also right next to us
Wasn't me, but my sister. She was heading to Kentucky to visit family with my mom. This was her first time ever flying on an airplane and mom didn't account for the fact that she inherited my dad's stomach. Halfway through the flight she just opens her mouth and projectile vomits all over herself and the seat in front of her, getting a little on the unfortunate woman who was in the seat. They clean up as much as they can at their connecting flight's airport and make it to Kentucky with no more problems. At the Kentucky airport, mom is speaking to her family that is there to pick them up and my sister walks off to the little arcade they have set up in a corner of the airport. She sees one of those key games where you have to perfectly line up the key to the keyhole to push the item off the hanger and into the prize basket below. She asks mom for a dollar, plays the game, and immediately wins an iPad. The universe had to re-balance her karma after the plane situation, or at least that's what we think.
