My daughter was having an anxiety attack in her bedroom. Her cat jumped on the bed and stared at her pillow until my daughter lay down. Then the cat lay down on my daughter's chest staring at her. My daughter stroked her fur until she felt better. She has done this three times now. This cat was a rescued stray. I love this cat so much more now for how she supports my daughter.

My cat has trained himself to recognise when I'm going to have a panic attack or if I'm having a sad and will come and sit on my chest really heavy, purr, and press his head really hard into my chin so I can't dissociate and stays there until I feel better. He even recognises when I'm having nightmares and wakes me up.

My mom took her dog to a public dog park. A guy was there trying to teach his dog some basic commands (Sit, stay, and lay down) . Her dog went behind the guy and every time he would give a command, my mom's dog would do the said command behind the guy. His dog would watch her dog, my mom would laugh at her dog, and the guy was clueless as what was going on behind him. Instead he would tell his dog "You're being laughed at for not knowing how to sit". My mom gave him a hamburger after that trip to the park since he was a good boy.
My own dog has an issue of choosing memory loss when it comes to his commands. For the fact that I know way more languages than my mom, and that I don't want anyone to be able to just tell my dog to do something, I taught his commands in Norwegian (We are an English speaking household in America btw). My mom's dog had learned all of my own dogs commands as well when I would teach my dog his commands. I would give the command to sit now and both will sit. I tell my dog to lay down, and both would do this.
I had a dog when I was a teenager who was just a sponge at learning new things. When I would run out of things to teach her, I would teach her the same stuff in different languages (at the time it was 4 languages, today that's up to 7). Same direction, different command. Same direction, hand signing. I would even test her on occasion if she knew what I was saying or just judging my voice tone. She knew EXACTLY what I would be saying. I would praise her in the tone I would use to scold her, she would wag her tail. I'd punish her in the praising tone, she would stop with the tail wagging, tail droop, and lay down because she knew she was in trouble. I miss this dog so much.

Smartest thing I've ever seen any animal do: when I was younger, we had a toy poodle named Chloe. Later in her life before she passed, the last Christmas we had her with us she was blind and deaf. (Hence why we finally had to put her down, still tears me up) but anyways this little blind and deaf 19 year old doggo decides she's having all of the food she can. We finished eating and had fed her plenty of turkey, potatoes, and anything else of her favorite items before going to open presents in the next room over. She decided that wasn't enough, pushed the chairs out far enough to hop onto them (blind) and then onto the table, to have more food. She ate a good 2 times her body weight that day.. crazy animal. One of her greatest hits. Oh, and she consistently found ways to break into the garbage can and even fridge occasionally to have her picking of things.

Back when Kmart were everywhere my mom and grandaddy would go in and buy something from scratch and dent like an electronic because it was sold at a reduced price. Then take it to another Kmart after peeling the scratch and dent sticker off the items and get a refund for it. This was in the early 90’s. We would hit up several kmarts and other stores a day. I was not raised in a normal family. Lol!

And people wonder why American citizens are so ignorant. We have too many people teaching who are dumb. It makes life so much harder for good teachers. I'm so glad that my granddaughters both have good teachers. I took them out of preschool because they weren't being taught anything. I mean nothing. I didn't have time in the evening and they had been in school all day so I took them out and taught them myself. Yes they're both very bright and great students. I love parent teacher conferences.

I can support the theory that crapping yourself in front of a potential mate makes things work out: I got food poisoning at a local fair during our early years and ended up emptying my guts into his porcelain bowl while he tried to make the best of it by bringing me water and rubbing my back. The next thing we know, I've crapped myself and the floor from the pressure of vomiting... He just started laughing at the situation and I couldn't help but join in with a weak laugh-sob, which of course made things worse.
We've been together for 8 years now and it's hilarious to look back on.

That cat hamster story reminds me of my sisters houdini hamsters when Iwas 16 and my sister was 11, we even safetypinned the opening shut, but the hamsters still managed to get free. One time we noticed that the hamsters had escaped yet again and were looking for them in our very large house. My pomeranian suddenly started barking at the floor length curtains in the hallway and when we checked out what he was barking at we found the hamsters hiding behind the curtains.

I had two German Shepard part wolf dogs. I had a male from the first litter and a female from the second or third litter. Same mom. The male wasn’t allowed in the den because we just got new carpet. Whenever my mom wasn’t home I would let him come down and chill with me. When he heard my mom come home he run up the stairs and lay down like he had been there the whole time. The female dog used to jump out the second story window with us onto the trampoline down below. She once “cornered” a guy in the middle of the street that was running from the cops. When she was pregnant she dug a hole under a big tree like a den. Not the best examples but it’s been almost 30 years since I’ve had these dogs.

I came out of a Walmart one time to discover my ride had locked his car doors, so I had to go back in and have him paged to let him know I was ready to leave when he was, but I had a gallon of burgundy and a Walkman in my bags. h to hide it? Under the car? Good, not good enough. Might be seen. In the bushes? Might tear the bags. Where to hide it? Looked around and saw a trash can. Took me one second to think it through. Dumped it in the can, paged my buddy, he came out, got my stuff and rolled out.

I had like ten+ freaking paragraphs of stuff but it got deleted so I'll just make it a little shorter (although it's still really long because I'm incapable of keeping things short).
So my dog Sophie (a Yorkshire terrier) has always been really smart (I sometimes call her Albert Einstein because she's mostly silver in color with some tan and whenever she gets bedhead she looks exactly like that oh so famous picture...although her other nickname is Houdini because she's managed to figure out how to escape from our backyard more times than I can count over the past four or five years (thankfully she's smart/cautious enough not to go any further than our neighbors yard(s) and she always waits for us to let her back in by the front or if we're not home she'll wait for us to come home so she never actually gets lost unlike her brother who ran away once and we only got him back because a police officer noticed him while on patrol and was going to take him to a shelter to try and find his owners (there aren't really any yorkies that live around here that don't have owners and even then I've only ever seen one other person who actually owned one so he figured that he (the dog) had probably gotten loose) until he came to our house and noticed that our front gate was open and there was another dog (Sophie) sitting in front of it so he figured we were probably the owners so he knocked on the door and asked my mom if we were missing a dog) to the point that she figured out how to escape from the back yard by jumping onto a brick ledge/foundation (which was several feet higher than she is) and we had to block off the gap between it and the fence *_THREE TIMES_* because she figured out how to climb up the bricks we used until she could jump over it two times) the first time I really noticed how smart she is was actually pretty minor but it kind of entertained me. So we used to use these small boards to block off the path between the dining room and the computer room as well as from the kitchen and the laundry room. So I was home alone because I had just gotten back from school and this was back when my mom and grandmother both had jobs and my little brother had to stay in an afterschool daycare the middle school had for kids who didn't ride the bus and whose parents had work. Anyway, I let the dogs out and put up the boards and I went off into the computer room or wherever to do...something...and I was only gone for maybe ten minutes or so when I look down and see Sophie standing a few feet away from me--keep in mind that I was on the opposite side of the board and she wasn't supposed to be able to get over it (they were too small and couldn't jump high enough) so I was really confused and went to make sure I had actually put up the board (which I did) I just kind of shook it off since the boards were there more for Yuri (her brother) than her since he was always getting into things while she was more cautious so we weren't really too worried about her anyway. Well I started noticing that this was happening more and more recently so eventually I got curious and decided to see how she was doing it. So I hid near where we put the board and I waited until I saw Sophie walk over to my old backpack (which was near the board), jump onto it, and then jump over the board. I was actually really impressed that she was able to figure this out so easily considering she was only a few months old...but the best part is that the entire time her brother was watching her (she almost always did it in front of him) and he just walked over to the board, stared at it, looked up at his sister, back to the board, back to his sister and so forth and so on for like a minute as if she held all of the answers to every secret in the universe (he's...a bit slow...I think he has some form of mental disorder because he's just the sweetest thing but he's about as bright as a lightbulb that only has a few minutes left...). It actually took Sophie at least a *_MONTH_* (after I figured out what she was doing) to teach jump over the boards which I found out when I was going to the laundry room to do something (I don't remember what exactly but I might have been going to let them out since that's where the back door is) and I witnessed Sophie having Yuri watch her jump over the board (at this point they could *_ALREADY_* jump over the boards without needing something else to reach which makes it even funnier that Yuri couldn't figure it out) and then turning back to look at him as if to say "Now just do exactly what I just did" and then Yuri trying to jump over the board...and I'm pretty sure he tripped over it a bit as well...then there's also all the times she hid her dog bones...like she would hide them in her bed, her *_BROTHER'S BED_* (which is actually pretty smart since nowadays he's almost never in it), under the ruffles of one of my skirt (I heard rustling so I looked down to see her digging around at my skirt and when I went to get a closer look she dropped the bone so I decided to help her out by hiding it inside the creases), AND SHE'S EVEN TRIED HIDING IT UNDER BOTH MY BROTHER AND MY FATHER MORE THAN ONCE! Like they were just lying down and feel something pushing/digging at their arm/side and when they look over they see her trying to push a bone under them.
Also my grandmother got a new dog (a yorkie named Simba who we got from the same breeder...he's actually a purebred (the breeder got a DNA test just to make sure) but his genes went a little crazy and he ended up having really curly hair so he looks more like a yorkiepoo than a purebred yorkie but we did some research and it's not impossible for that to happen just really rare...and funnily enough he also has partial heterochromia where one of his eyes is mostly brown but has a sliver of blue while the other is mostly blue with some brown) and so whenever she comes over to stay at our house for a few days (she moved to the lake house her parents built a while ago) she'll bring him and so we take turns walking him around. Well my grandmother asked me to get the leash and walk him so I went to get it and I tried to put it on him but, of course him being the little ball of energy he is (I kid you not this dog is like a freaking bullet...he's so hyper that nine times out of ten whenever I have to grab him he'll just dart off faster than anything I've ever seen in my life and I've literally had to chase him in circles around a small table for like ten minutes once before I was able to grab him while my grandmother was laughing at me from the hallway) he darted back and got ready to run away as soon as I made my move since he thought I was playing...so I tried shaking the leash to get him to come over to me and what does he do? He runs over to my grandmother because since she usually lives by herself she's the one who usually walks him and whenever she goes to walk him she'll shake the leash so when I shook the leash he ran over to *_HER_* thinking she was going to take him out.
I also taught/am teaching him how to give high fives and he actually started figuring it out almost immediately and the only difficult part is actually being able to get him to pay attention since he has no attention span so he doesn't always do it right away, twirl around on his hind legs, and whenever you play with him using a laser pointer (he *_LOVES_* playing with laser pointers like...he loves it more than most cats) you have to make sure to keep the pointer out of his line of sight or else he'll start batting at it because he's already figured out where the laser comes from and just likes chasing it so long as he can't see the pointer itself.
So TLDR: My girl dog is an escape artist, taught her far less intelligent brother the secrets of the universe, and tried to hide bones in her brother's cage as well as under living people...also my grandmother's dog gives high fives.

O was sitting with my current boyfriend while he was messing with the car system. Was watching his friend fool around with a kayak paddle, he tried to do a cool spin trick and ended up catching it right in the face.
We were dating less than 2 months after that (my ex didn't care. We were all comfortable with how everything ended/turned out)

I'm leaching Wi-Fi from a dunkin donuts behind a strip mall trying to remain unnoticed because watching stuff while I raid the dunkin dumpster for the old pastries they throw in it is thus far the only situation I have found that comfortable and just enough of a distraction to forget I'm in my second ever week of being homeless and feeling like death from hep c.... I havent figured out how to be homeless yet so these donuts are almost the only substantial food I get. I can't stay for hours because I'll get ran off if they notice and in my county the cops get involved with homeless folks and ticket/arrest and then you have a fine you cant afford etc so while I'm near Wi-Fi in gonna throw this out there... If anyone can afford to cashapp me like 3 or 4 dollars so I can go buy some McDonald's dollar menu, have some real food that isn't dumpster donuts and be a paying customer so they can't make me leave right away, I would literally cry... I'm not dumb I know its super unlikely anyone would send a stranger cash but you could literally make my WEEK with a couple dollars... I'm not trying to hustle a hotel or something I just want a decent meal.... $jwdoe

Grocery store. Increased shrinkage. Seems a check out clerk would have friends come thru. $$$ stuff, and cheap stuff. She grabs $$$$ item, covers barcode with candy bar barcode. So $12 item for $.25... took a while to catch her.
Now in self service the clerk sees every item scanned on every line.

The day after Halloween the costumes were $5 at a local discount store so we went crazy and got probably six costumes for my wife and one including this silver Spaceman costume that I was sure would be hilarious enough to be worth $5 and sure enough when she put it on I was laughing so hard I could barely breathe and to compound that she had this look on her face we had been married about 6 months and she was saying it's okay babe I'm your wife you can tell me if you like this which made me laugh even harder because I could tell from the look on her face IT WAS NOT OKAY - there would be a serious reevaluation of our marriage if I said yes I liked it oh God I laugh so hard I couldn't answer her for a disturbingly long time I finally made myself stop laughing because I could tell she was getting worried

Oh by, people are so clueless sometimes ... if you are a pet owner and it's not a chimpanse and you notice your pet spending time looking at reflecting surfaces, your pet is pretty much in agony because of lonelyness. Dogs/Cats/Fish/Birds (except of corvus) do not understand that a reflection is a reflection but indeed think it's another animal, that's why they seek out reflecting surfaces if they're lonely.

    • @scarlettg.5772

I don't know, my cat watches us in them. If she thought it was another cat in there she would be livid. She hates all other cats. She growls and hisses at any cat outside. She definitely knows that her reflection isn't a another cat.

    • @Oroberus
      @Oroberus 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@scarlettg.5772 Has been proven several times, that they do not recognize mirror images as themself.
You can even check for yorur self or bring counter evidence by performing the experiment below:
Mark her forehead with paint, preferably a color that she doesn't like and then check if she, after looking in a mirror, will try to paw her own forehead (then she recognizes herself) or paws the mirror (then she's curious what the other cat has on it's forehead), or just do nothing a like (then she doesn't care about 'the other cat').
The reason many animals won't react aggressively towards mirrors usually is connected to the agression not mostly being triggert by visuals but by smell.
