Thanks! A Rybakov is a great antenna. There is another Rybakov video coming on Sunday, where I take a look at a way more compact Rybakov design, so you can look forward to that.
I’ve shown a couple of those QRMers in my latest videos, and there are more coming. If you intentionally make QRM or don’t listen before you key up you deserve to get shown.
When I activated HA-0006 last week somebody set a carrier on my frequenzy. What he didn't realize: I kicked the automatic notch filter in which of course canceled out the carrier as well as 90% of the band noise :-) So I was able to copy all the week signals from the US which I probably wouldn't have heard otherwise ✌ A good example of turning something bad into something good 🙂 73 de Juergen OE4JHW / AH6UN
Oh absolutely. I should really work on learning how to use filters properly. And it's not that the concept is foreign to me either, I use the same principles on the audio console at work, just AF instead of RF.
Good stuff, Morten. I've used the Rybakov a few times after learning about it from Walt & Tim. While it worked out well for me (QRP and QRO), what surprised me is that it really seemed to do exceptionally well on 15m and 17m. I've been able to make contacts on 10-12m, but not as easily--that could also be band conditions and timing though. Anyway, I'm glad to see it worked out well for you. It's a nice multi-band antenna option for portable ops. 73
A great vid Morten. I have used the same unun and found it really good. I have used a good amount of radials though. Keep on the good work, stuff the QRM...
Thanks! The unun is actually really good, except for it not being weather sealed. I have some plans on testing it out for a loop antenna, so make sure you keep watching!
Can you try a Rybakov using an aluminum window screen ground-plane to see if it works better?? 3 foot x 4 foot flat on the ground connected with one alligator clip.
Window screens are not common here, and if I could fine some it would be too expensive for an experiment. I have no doubt that it would work though, but I can’t see how this would be easier than the radial net I use in this video.
Two thumbs up for the "future you" clip. Dang QRMers! ARGH! 73!
I’ve been dealing with a lot of QRM at my POTA activations. It’s quite disappointing.
It won’t go away though, so I guess we have to live with it.
Thanks for Rybakov review. Glad to hear it works well.

Great effort Morten and well done for persevering through the the idiots .
Thanks Colin. There seems to be an inflation in lids unfortunately.
Love this video .. great shoutout to the A**Hole QRMers at 11:02 - 11:41 Had me laughing .. NAILED IT :D -Steven K6WRF 73

Absolutely a descent antenna. It might not replace my EFHW, but it’s a great supplement.
Assholes never die, Morten. That's unfortunately the Way it is. You did a great Job no matter what. Happy Tuesday Evening & 73 de Uncle Guenter 💯👍🙋♂
They might not die, but at least I can put a little bit of shame on the people who disturb QSOs. There's more to come in my next POTA video 😂
2:20 "Someone" offered me an apprenticeship once at his job so I could learn how to wind cables 🤣
There is a big difference between XLR cables and coiling eight Sotabeams wires at once.

@@LB0FI Yes, I have used quite a bit of insulating tape to assist with weather proofing. I have subscribed and will go through the library. 73
Well done Morten!!
Thanks Tim!
Morten, best think is to ignore the qrm!
It probably is, but I am not that kind of person 😂
Great POTA Fun......😀😀😀😀
POTA is almost always fun!
Very good video. Rybakov antenna Is my First antenna due to lack of space on my roof and It got me lot of contacts around the world. 73 de IU0EUI.
Good video Morten and another interesting location. Ignore the idiots and keep doing what your doing. 73 Chris M0RSF
I mostly ignore them, but patience is not one of my best abilities.
Great video my friend!!!
Thanks Walt! And thanks for inspiring me to give the Rybakov another shot.
It's really time I build and test a Rybakov myself. Seems to work pretty ok on the higher HF bands. 73 de ON4MGY Nic
I was really a bit of a sceptic, but the antenna actually works pretty well.
Morten did you check the swr? Thanks for showing us the antenna
I probably did, but it's been a while since I used the Rybakov now so I don't remember. I should probably revisit it during the summer.

What bags you are using? This bags in the background.
The green pouches? Cheap MOLLE-pouches from Ebay. There will be a video on those and the contents coming next week.
@@LB0FI Thanks. I like this bags, but i didn't find the right size for my gear. Too small, othher too big, the next too expensive.
I though the Rybakov was a 9 to 1 unun with a 1 to 1 choke ?
Nope, 4:1 for the Rybakov.

Nice video as always, from a great location 😉
Sadly they don't really care
I know that they don’t care, but it’s worth saying anyway.
