Man, just taking that puke green off everybody helps so much on its own... I love that you considered their gameplay kits for this! I saw several videos that ignored that in favor of a 'blank slate,' but _design isn't a blank slate._ It's about communicating what these characters can do and why! Speaking of, apparently Bazz is supposed to be able to see enemies through walls. Her weird triangle-glasses _stand out_ but they don't sell me on that power. Your redesign looks great, but I still wonder if it's possible to sell her vision gimmick without giving her a full Widowmaker/Soldier 76-style VR helmet.
My main gripe with imari’s original armor design is that it’s so close to being a functional suit of armor but its dispersal across her body is haphazard and generally anti-ergonomic. The wrists, hands and legs are devoid of any meaningful protection. Distribute the armor more evenly across the body and it would look less goofy in my opinion. Also the helmet should have a look similar to a stirnpanzer , have the metal face plate be a retractable feature that can ties into the shield mechanic. Like it retracts when boosting your team’s shield as if Imari is quite literally sacrificing her own protection for the sake of her team.
Now these designs have better focus in both colour, aesthetic, shape and personality. I really like the holographic pauldrons on Imari, really gives her a Samus look.
Dude, don't call these redesigns "mediocre", they have so much "pop" to them. It's reminiscent of things like "Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" or "Monkie Kid" (i.e. "Two series renowned for their action sequences, colorful styles, and larger-than-life personalities"). Give yourself some credit, man.😎
The artwork isn’t bad it just unfortunately has a somewhat poor delivery into 3d and realism and probably a hero shooter. Also, I feel that completely changing the art direction into something completely different than calling it better is somewhat insensitive to the artist who worked on the game as the official concept art looks great! You should give it a look. I genuinely believe nobody would care about the art if they didn't charge 40$ and it wasn’t canceled in like 1 week.
I didn't like how everyone was completely deviating from the character's initial design, so i wanted to challenge myself by staying within the boundaries of what they were before.
Even if ugly, I think the original design fit more with the idea Sony wanted. Yes, Concord is a hero shooter, but I think it was supposed to also be a TV serie and an introduction to the world for other games in it’s universe (aka the Starwars comparison). Having basic design that fit the world they envisioned would have been probably easier (and better) to use later for TV adaptation and side products. That being said, we were never shown said world. Only a hero shooter. That was probably the biggest mistake. Just my grain of salt.
that's entirely possible, however if that was their plan they should have focused on how it performed as a video game first before they moved on to movies, comics, TV, etc. They were probably counting their money before it came in and didn't consider what the landscape would look like when it released. From what I hear, they started deveoping this shortly after overwatch came out in 2016, if they'd released it in 2019 with some better character designs it may have done OK.
Why not make a video to see the different Concepts of the characters in this game? ARTSTATION Instead of insulting the work of the developers Like you knew what was happening in Firewalk for 8 years
Emari is a _lot_ bigger than I thought she would be. She could've had Dimitrescu running for her money, if the game didn't flop...
Big Lady Supremacy 🙌
First redesign makes me think Samus armour from Metroid.
Yeah, Samus is the queen of the whole “big armored lady” archetype

I really like your redesign of baz. I Especially love the idea of her shoes glowing, while she's fighting.

Bruh the characters look so bad
@I meant the concept art
I won't lie, I'm not THE biggest fan of these redesigns, but damn... They're still so much better than original ones

I’m still curious where the 200 million dollars went into the game

Way better then the original
u blind, mate?
This is great! Keeping the extremely diverseity quota type inspiration, but rationalizing and designing it to be appealing.
I wanted to challenge myself by staying within the guard rails of the original designs
1:37 You have no idea how wrong you are.
Oh god…

@@rod2.005 Their work was uninspired. They opened themselves up to criticism by releasing it publicly, just as I have by making this video.
Wow what a garbage redesign lol
OK
