    Going to make this soon 😊 also wanted to post this here since I wasn’t sure how to tag Anne Marie on the 2017 podcast she did with A College Alternative:
    I can’t believe I’m barely coming across this video. You are truly so inspiring Anne-Marie and it was interesting to hear about your struggles and seeing how successful you are now. You are inspiring me to work past my depression and finally starting my soap business (been trying to start for 2 years). Thank you for teaching us how to make these lovely bath and body products and giving us the tools to start our own businesses!! 💛

    These are beautiful, when I do my melt and pour every 30 secs until melted well, it seems to start to harden again very quickly. Help, does anyone have any suggestions? Anne-Marie your soaps and tutorials are excellent. Thank you😊

      That sounds like your soap may have gotten too hot in the microwave. Sometimes, to prevent it from scorching, you need to mix the soap between each melting burst.

    • @amygore3809
      @amygore3809 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The power might be too strong of a setting on your microwave, so try 15 seconds and build up from there. You really don't want to get it too hot too fast or it just won't hold your scents right while it is setting.

    Have to say I like the products I have ordered so far but find ordering from your website cumbersome. I am currently trying to place an order online and it won’t go through. I call the toll free number only to be met with leaving a voice message. This is frustrating and feels like the customer has to jump through hoops in trying to get an order placed.

      I’ve heard this from other customers as well. I would try to message them on FB or IG and see if someone can help live. I know they are on the West Coast.

      @@hellskitchenkritterandfrie3372 I finally did get a hold of someone by phone. I am not a fan of any business who does not have a pathway for their customers to speak live, by phone when a problem arises. Trying to communicate a problem you are having with placing an order online with someone through chat is not helpful. When you are having a problem with a company's product or service, you want to get it addressed quickly and at the point of contact. You do not wait for someone to call you back in 24 hours. You also want to hear what can we do to remedy the situation or make it right for you. Last week I rented a car and the fuel tank was less than a quarter tank full at the time of pick up - it was suppose to be full. When I returned the car rental, I mentioned this to the return rental attendant. He apologized and without a missing a beat he said, "What can we do to make it right?" Now that's great customer service and assistance.

    what was the spray she used after pouring?

      It can be misted with isopropyl alcohol to help prevent soda ash.

    I bought the kit and followed the instructions but when I cut them individually all three layers came separated. What could I have done wrong?

    • @WhimsicalGrain
      @WhimsicalGrain 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure what the kit says, but that usually because of the pouring temperature. When you pour the second and third layers, make sure the temperature is about 125 or less. I've also read that the pouring temperature for layers should be lower than the pouring temperature of the previous layer (I hope that makes sense). Also, spraying too much alcohol in between the layers can be an issue. Finally, make sure you use a super sharp knife.

    • @carolynhamman3187
      @carolynhamman3187 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WhimsicalGrain Thanks so much. I was very good at watching my pouring temperatures. I do tend to spray a lot of alcohol. I did have a difficult time cutting the soap into individual pieces, had to apply a lot of force. I have a soap cutting piece and it is brand new so I thought it was OK until I got done. I will try your suggestions! I'm a beginner so I need all the help I can get.

    • @triciafeeley8767
      @triciafeeley8767 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This can happen when your lower layer sets too long (hardens too much). If you let it get a thick but still soft coating over it, and pour the next layer cool enough not to melt the bottom layer, it should help reduce the layers separating. Spray the layers with alcohol (but not too much). Some people will take a sharp utensil and gently (without puncturing the layer) make hash marks across the surface to help the next layer adhere to it.

    What type of wrap can I use that won't allow swetting?

    • @sheilastockdale6715
      @sheilastockdale6715 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use either shrink wrap or cling wrap. Shrink wrap requires a sealing machine (all four sides need to be sealed) and a heat gun. Cling wrap requires tape to secure the wrap so no air gets in. Hope this helps!
