  • Hi everyone! Here is the third and final winter/Christmas soap for this season! It is a layered soap using melt and pour soap. This is the first soap video I have made using exclusively melt and pour soap. Some of you have been requesting a melt and pour video, so I hope you enjoy it! This soap is made using my most favorite Christmas fragrance, I just love it!
You can find this exact recipe on my patreon page found here: / creator-home
If you were interested in that amazing melt and pour soap cutter I got it here, it is the only one of it's kind: www.etsy.com/s...
This soap will be released on 11/15 with my other winter soaps. If you are interested in purchasing them or any of my other products you can find it here:www.sunshineso...

Just a little FYI that works for me is to mix my mica in a shot glass with a couple sprays of alcohol and it mixes very well and the alcohol will disapate and it mixes in with your melted soap amazingly. No clumps or loose powder that wont mix in it works great. Give it a try.

🎄🎄Just so creative and adorable!! I love that fragrance and the holiday designs are so beautiful!! I use my colors ya and mix them in a tiny bit of alcohol first then pour it into my melt and pour. I seen it a while back and tried it and I believe it makes it easier to incorporate!
This turned out so beautifully and such cuteness!

    • @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany
      @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, it could have been due to pouring too cold. Also, if you use two different soap bases they can have a hard time bonding. Use rubbing alcohol before pouring a layer to help with adhesion as well.

THIS MAY SEEM SILLY BUT CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW THE SOAP BASE IS STAYING LIQUIFIED FOR SO LONG? I'M FAIRLY NEW AT THIS BUT WHENEVER I'M MAKING SOAP, IT COOLS VERY QUICKLY AND I CAN BARELY ADD ANYTHING PRIOR TO POURING BEFORE THAT FILM STARTS DEVELOPING. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? I'VE ALSO SEEN A FEW MELT AND POUR SOAP VIDEOS WHERE SOMETHING WAS ALREADY MIXED IN AND THE SOAP BASE LITERALLY STAYED MELTED UNTIL THE PERSON WAS READY TO POUR IT. SOMETIMES FOR 5 MINUTES OR MORE. HOW IS THAT?

I cut mine with fishing line. Cuts clean through melt and pour very smoothly. If you can ignore too much talking, I have a couple videos showing this. Not to many soapers realize you can do it but you can :)

Hi. I have a question fo you. I am a melt and pour soap maker and doing layered soaps. For some reason when cutting it my layers come apart. Is this normal?. Is there anything i can do to prevent it?. Thankyou. Xx

@@levidenver7302 i have had a couple of replies. Mainly suggesting using more rubbing alcohol between each layer. So wait for the layer to dry, spray with RA and then put the next layer on. The other suggestion is to score between each layer. I have yet to give it another go but will try both options next time and see what works. Xx

Cool! Not sure if I'll do layers when I start getting into the soap making (soon, still researching how to make, what products are available, since I have to buy online, that are not carcinogenic, etc., and just checked and found mica is usually good, some people may have mild reactions). But it's nice to know how so that if I do, I have a video to refer back to. Not sure if I will use mica, as there are other natural options for color that also have their health benefits.
I'm really enjoying watching the alcohol remove the bubbles.

You can make orange soap with turmeric powder! It’s a spice used for cooking. Btw it stains!!!

@@MusicGirl114 I'm familiar with turmeric. It's an ingredient in mustard and a super food because of all the health benefits.

I just made my first batch of melt and pour layered soap and used the idea of blowing on first layer and then poured the 2nd layer. My 2nd layer still seperated when I cut it. Will the alcohol spritz make the difference for next time ?

The only downfall is it won't cut slabs of melt and pour into logs into bars. Mine will and it uses surprisingly fishing line :)
30 lb fishing line will cut smoothly through anything. Its built like a tank and can be stored in a drawer.

You used a small amount of rubbing alcohoy to remove the bubbles and the make the second layer of soap adhere. Do you have to add that to your ingredient content list?
