    M&P is often underrated and dismissed by CP and HP soap makers. They're still great and beautiful in their own right.

    I find the cold process frightening but melt & pour a lot safer.

    I love swirling melt and pour! This looks fun. You mentioned doing Mica lines at one point. I've never been successful with that. The layers always separate. What's your secret to that?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      We've found that when creating each mica line, take care to completely cover the soap evenly. Just be careful to not add too much color. This can cause the soap to separate 💜

    if i wanted to add exfoliates to the mix what temperature do you recommend adding them in at?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can add exfoliants any time by stirring them after trace!

      @@bramble-berry what do you consider trace in melt and pour?

      @@Ninja9687_I think they mentioned adding suspension ingredients in at around 130'F, stir and pour. If ur soap base is too hot or ingredients too heavy , they will sink to the bottom. Watch their coffee grind MP soap video bcz they suspend grinds in the soap.

  • @captainchokeyofficial9755

    Why when I do melt and pour, they always harden too quick. What can I mix with the soap base? I really hope to do something like that! Great video! :)

    • @itzcloveynuh1207
      @itzcloveynuh1207 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Melt n Pours are usually ready within a couple of the hours unlike CP soaps.

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Most melt and pour bases can take up to 5% additives. You can add some skin loving oils to them but remember, the more you add the less lather you get!

  • @ladymsoaps

    Not a question for the video but I just bought some oils and one was anise. My husband and I absolutely love the licorice scent that anise has but I am wondering how it acts in CP?

    how can you tell when your cold process soap is fully cured? I know it takes 4-6 weeks but what are some factors to look for to make sure it's all ready to go?

    • @itzcloveynuh1207
      @itzcloveynuh1207 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hardness of the bar( not easily dented through any force whatsoever.

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Besides a harder bar, the pH will have come down a little bit too.

    How much sea clay we should use for a better result? And if i want to add plant extracts how much I should add ? Plant extracts with 10:1 ratio with water can it be used in MP soap making or it will effect the hardness of the soap?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You're welcome to add another teaspoon of sea clay for a darker color. You could add up to an ounce of plant extract, melt and pour soap is formulated to accept up to 5% additives including fragrance oils and extracts.

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We haven't tried that yet, though have heard that melt and pour tends towards less of a daily shampoo and more of a remove build up shampoo.

    Can you use charcoal for the black layer color?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely! We like to disperse the charcoal first by mixing 1 teaspoon of charcoal with 1 tablespoon of 99 percent isopropyl alcohol. This helps it mix into the soap batter more smoothly.
