My first build had a single Kicker Comp C12, so many good memories and good times with that sub. Made me into the basshead I am today! Have had every size sub in different setups (15 and below) and Currently Running a single 12 build now!
Kicker is decent equipment. They will take some clean power but alot of hate comes from people not setting gains properly and blowing them. They're pretty tough too. I've seen people run them for years distorted on a 300 watt amp maxed out. Can't complain about them as a budget sub.

😂🤣😂🤣 Kicker budget sub🤔 kicker is one of the more expensive brands they are outrageously priced compared to most other companies subs when comparing RMS ratings. however if you want to talk about reliable and taking double RMS ratings than expected then I would buy Kicker. Comp and Comp C are ok but if you actually buy a Solo-Baric or a comp r and hook them up to true power you will see that they can do almost double the RMS ratings. My Solo Baric L7 10 is rated for 600 RMS..... I have it hooked up to a Sound Digital Evo 1200.1 and that sub can take ALL that amp has to offer. Got a pair of comp rs in the matching box hooked up to a cxa 1200 that's been going over 4 years now and they're only rated at a 1000 Watts RMS. Kicker is most definitely underrated IMO. Literally in the comp c video you just posted you ran 4,000 watts almost to a 300 watt RMS 12 that's pretty impressive and I guarantee you it's still played after

Testing the whole line is a great idea. Can’t wait to see all the videos and subs. My bro had 2 comp C 12’s in a sealed back from best-buy on a JL XD 600/1. It was loud.. like REALY loud and it sounded good too
Its cool that he is doing this because most of the time when you try to compare them there are videos of them but they are setup on different amps and boxes so some may beat harder than others but he is using the same box and setup to get a true comparison. Keep up the good work love your videos

Got 2 of the 15" Comp C in my truck. I love em.
Comp C comes in both dvc & svc options . Tuning recommendations for Comps are 39hz to 42hz for ported enclosures @ 1.75 to 2.25 cu.ft. I have a CompC in a custom made ported enclosure with a flared port , 2.25 cu.ft @ 39HZ . It sounds exceptional good for its price segment.

I’ve had tons of Kicker’s growing up and loved them all , u can beat the hell out of them. I’m in the middle of a Portable Bluetooth speaker build and I’m using a Rockford Fosgate R1S4 as the Bluetooth amp only has 100 watt sub out. Love to see some of the Rockford sub line tested maybe along with Kenwood, pioneer all the old schoolers , Alpine..

I recently installed a Comp 10 in a Bass Bunker by sound ordinance in my car. Kicker is absolutely the king of bass on a budget.
I had a comp R in my wife’s car for little awhile. It was on a Rockford Prime 500.1. It was pretty decent. I also had two of the CVXs on a old Kicker KX2500.1 and it was pretty damn good. Don’t sleep on the CVX, comp q, or even the comp r. Got my Comp R used for $60!
I got an older pair of comp 10’s. Running on a 1000w kenwood amp. I’ve been pretty happy with it

Yes I agree you should be doing sealed vs ported.
Also correct me if I’m wrong but single vs duel voice coil is only to help wire a bunch together, nothing to do with allowed power
I have 2 10 inch kicker comp c in my car on a 800 watt mono amp and they sound perfect.
You definitely need to do the comp r . I have two of those and for budget build they hit hard .
I have 2 12s comp r in kicker box man tell you this them Boyz show up and show out every time big up to kicker on a 800.1 kicker Amp hits hard azz he'll in my liberty 🗽 love kicker

Holy hell watts! Seeing this makes my feel better about my 2010 comp12 getting 110db at the drivers headrest @24hz running on a 100W dayton amp. Haven't tested at frequencies as high as he does since that is getting close to door speaker territory for me. 😅

I have 2 of the Comp C 10s SVC in my 350Z. They sound great, especially being as it’s a hatch roadster so the acoustics of the bass resonate well in the space.
Most the Kicker products are well made, perform great & will last a long time when you have everything set up correctly with your amp & controls/settings. Can’t really go wrong especially being as affordable as they are

great video! I think you should try to compare the Rockville destroyer vs a skar vxf next and see what you like and don't like about both.
Picked two of these up for $125 new in package. Just figured I'd stick them in my daily GMC 2500, and go higher end in my backup/weekend Cherokee.
I was thinking about testing the lows of subs. Test subs and see how loud they are at 30hz. I bet that sundown x of yours is the champion.

I've had Comp C . Burned them out due to bad wiring. Worked great. Got 2 Comp 15's Old School type Ran @4ohm off a Rockville T2, putting rms to it. She Bang

You need to try the Sony XS-GSW121. It's really clean sounding and loud.
I put this woofer to my home by replacing the subwoofer in my Boston acoustics powered sub. It sounds every bit of a good 12 inch! I might buy another but get specs of a tuned box and go pay somebody off at Lowes to build it 🤔

You should do a sealed box test with these. You have to power to make them sound good.

When I looked up the parameters for both subs (I have one of each on my truck in seperate boxes) they have the same Fs and all. Pretty similar subs.

I'd say this is the exact same setup. Just dressed up to look different. And instead of one 150 watt coil, it has 2 of them. Make it look a lil different n bam. There ya go.

I think you should break them in a good bit because the surround and spiders are very stiff and I think you should try them in a sealed enclosure for SQ .Thanks for the video.

I’m getting ready to do a single CompR 10 build in a sealed box in 3 weeks. I’m going for sound quality.
Honestly, people say it's a good sub for the money, it's a good sub period. I have 2 in a ported box in my 2011 Genesis Prada sedan and it matches perfectly with the 17 speaker Lexicon system. I have an Art Series PPI Amp A600 powering it.
Picking up my new VEE next week.. stock 190 amp alternator so I'm trying to see what I can work with for now w/o the H/O alternator and AGM battery yet. Will do BIG 3/4 asap.
She gonna be brand new so I want to ease into the bigger stuff. What do you think of the CompC 44TCWC104 truck boxes? Thinking of 2 in trunk of SUV for little bottom end upgrade..

Gonna be honest, for being lower than average RMS ratings for there sub's they do a pretty good job for there price tbh, my dad has 2 kicker comp 8s in there kicker sealed boxes and they do a great job honestly for being small
Definitely have to do one on the cvx vs solar baric. So round vs square cause cvx is the same thing only round.
When you test them cvx they are going to surprise you, as well as the comp Q will

Love what you do Parker.....But lol, almost a half a cube under spec on the box, that's a pretty big difference at 2cu ft. Also that Skar box might be tuned at 34hz with a SDR12 (which I loved the way my Skar SDR18-D4'S sounded) I bet it's not tuned at 34hz with the Kicker subs. Unless the T/S parameters are exactly the same for each sub the box tuning is going to very different. You can not tell what a box is tuned to without calculating the subs T/S parameters to the box volume and port dimensions.

I've had my kicker comp 10's (05C104)for almost exactly 20 years and the only thing that i had a problem with is the foam got ripped.
I just put the replacement on.
The glue is drying as I'm writing this.
Fingers crossed.... No definitive way to properly align the voice coil. Hoping I lucked out.
Parker, you're doing a good job with the reviews. I've been running Kicker for many years, but I don't think they are the best value for the buck, so I just ordered a Skar replacement. I subscribed to your channel.

Thanks for the tutorial. However, I have been looking for information on a set of Kicker Comp5 12" Subwoofers. I bought a Rockford Fosgate P2-2X12 Box that had a set of the Kicker Comp5 subs in it, I just cannot find any info on the Comp5.
I had a kicker 10" in my ranger back in the day and it hit too hard. I had a jl audio 8" on the rear deck of my ls400 not enough bass but really good sound quality. I'm gonna do this sub with a kicker cxa300.1 I already have in my 97 pathfinder. Can't wait!!!!!!
Are you gonna test the comp vx. I used to run 2 of those on the zx1500.1 man it hit so hard. I got 2 audiopipe bdc3 12’s now and they are just as loud as the kickers was.

There the same speaker it's just a daul vs a single coil interesting to see the difference. kicker does make good stuff but there a lot of different models that looks real similar from the front I own the comp r and rt also CVX and vr 12s they r definitely built to last but ya not my deepest hitting✌️👍👌

Have you done any reviews on MTX subs? I have an old MTX 4300X Amp rated at 37.5 x 4 which I had on a couple of MTX BlueThunder Pros and it slammed. The foam surrounds on the speakers have since rotted. Do any of the current MTX subs bump as hard as the old school subs?

Got this in my single cab s10 because of there encloser they make with it is thin. Got 2 of em and they slap pretty hard still working on upgrading the electrical system bc of how much power it's currently drawing I can't turn it up that much or the voltage drops too low
