  • The Rondo neighborhood, a thriving black community in St. Paul, was bulldozed to create a freeway, displacing over 500 families.

I could write a book but I was 6 years old in 1960 in St Paul visiting relatives living on Carrol - 6th. The street was closed off (east/west?) and there was a big ditch. When I returned home to Kansas City, there was one in my neighborhood too! Today its I-70.
My parents told me that the same thing happened in the 30s and 40s.

Hi there, I would love to know more about your visit to St. Paul/how living in the cities was like during the construction of I-70. And, if possible, if you remember what your parents shared with you about what happened in the 30s and 40s. I find this part of history very interesting.

Rondo is not restored until ALL descendents aren't refused their inheritance, get it!
