This is so sad. One out of every 8 homeowners displaced...for a highway. Unreal.
The look on Evelyn's face when she was given the photos of her childhood home is priceless! 🙂
I love her Minnesotan accent! It’s so beautiful, just like her!
My family home was on the freeway. I grew up looking at those houses everyday from across the freeway !
I can play a blade of grass too. It my house had the same grass. My house was demolished in the 90’s after my mom sold it to the state and we bought another house nearby !!!
WOW! I went to Haley Q. Brown! Thanks for sharing!
They cut thru some really nice neighborhoods like the marcy/ Holmes neighborhood in Minneapolis when they built 35W.
Good story since George Floyd death its interesting to know black culture of the state and its cities
WOW POWERFUL
The only part of the video that I don’t like is when he’s talking over muted video of Evelyn Fairbanks speaking. I feel like they could have put his part elsewhere so that we could have heard more from her but that’s just my opinion.
I hope black people were treated better here in the old days then they were in many other places.
I’m pretty sure they will
I live in this neighborhood and love it!!!
THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟 POWERFUL ❤️🖤💚🤎 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜,
Very good lady. I like her
I think the neighborhood displaced by the Expressway most likely relocated to Snelling and South Snelling Avenue. Snelling Avenue is now the relocated Rondo.
♾
So unfair
Same ol neighborhood I grew up in I’ll say I love n miss Rondo areaa
Hi there! I would love to hear more about your life when growing up in Rondo :) If you're comfortable sharing your stories, I'd listen wholeheartedly!
