This is what you called SUV. Simple, strong, powerful, safe and reliable. Love Toyota Landcruiser, the best truck ever made on this planet. My dreams Truck!
The simplicity is just amazing. In my country of Nigeria, we are always going off road, because all our roads are bad. So we dont need fast cars, we need strong ones like this. If I was to buy a car, it would be this. The 200 series has comfort and all but if I wanted Comfort, I would sleep in my bed.
I love this car for these kinds of reasons: it's reliable, offordable, strong, classic, and because it has all the main features, such as 4WD, locking diffs, and traction control. Also it was made for me!🖤❤️
Road in one of these on a Safari for two weeks in Tanzania, in the Serengeti. Man, how I wished I could get one back here in the states. The fact is we don't know the value of a true off road vehicle, this thing is super reliable and bullet proof. It reminded me of the old Hummer H1. I have to figure out a way to get one here one day haha.
@@dumbaemp2195 We don't having them. These are for export outside the E.U.But we can have it with the gasoline 4.0 V6,the one from the 120 and the fj cruiser.I've seen some for sale in Switzherland.

To all those people complaining about it having 430nm... you have to realise its built to last, built to be dependent on when your in the middle of no where.
@@motorbloxx Stock for stock your highly strung 3L 4 pot turbo diesel won't last half as long . And just a exhaust and a good remap and it then puts down 200wheelkw's and 600nm.
Best vehicles on the planet! I have a '93 land cruiser-70 series, with 240,000 miles and runs better than my Z71 4x4 Sierra and AC is cold as hell! It's a beast!
Not the usual set of criteria that a Landcruiser is judged against, but interesting regardless. The engine itself is capable of much more with minimal tuning, but off road vehicles are more useful with good traction and wheel articulation, as low fuel consumption as possible and low gearing. Plus it has metal where others have plastic, as a function of its legacy design. A modern classic really.

These beasts are japanese market and are not sold in USA. In the USA you can only buy Toyotas that are american market like: tundra, sequoia, 4runner, Lexus, Fj Cruiser, tacoma, highlander, prius etc

One of the few remaining legit 4WD's. The problem is, there is no luxury trim level, that's what stops me getting one, I'd rather keep my 80. 200 series not for me due to independent front.
The weird thing is the 70 series is not allowed for import in a bunch of countries - like US and Canada and several central and SA countries. That's a drag.
The 70 series accounts for More than 50% of police vehicles here in Kenya and many East African countries... Man this cars can undergo torture. If you hv been to African rural side, you'll know what I mean. Nowonder they hv insane unlimited warranties if bought from Toyota dealership around Africa.
The best thing about these 70 series vehicles, is that you can adapt them to suit your own needs. If Toyota did that straight from the factory and didn't allow any adjustments to be made you'd all be screaming like banshees.
In saudi arabia we get the better version which has a v6 gas engine and a lot more luxurious stuff and the sound is muchhh better //I personally own one 😊
The next thing Toyota must do is offer the 70 series with the 6spd auto trans from the 200 series cruiser. And fix the narrow track issue with the rear diff.
Engineering design brief for 70 series Landcruiser. ‘Keep it as simple and reliable as possible. Ability to repair in remote locations a priority......’ A complicated automatic transmission in this tough and rugged vehicle just does not fit it’s application. If you want an auto, stick with a 200.
Man if they sold these things in the US and priced them similar to a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, I think there'd be a fair market for that and still offered a diesel.
I think I could be looking at my next car. Question for fans please on the handbrake - I used to own a Troopy and it cost me a few bob to get the handbrake upgraded to the point where I knew it would hold on a decent hill. That was a 2008 model. Does the more recent 70 series wagon come with improved handbrake?
