Master difficulty is an unlockable difficulty after collecting all 14 emeralds.
On this difficulty, The speed is set at Gear 3 just like Hard Mode but ALL Bots will be MAX Level at the start and they will NOT get easier even upon continuing. On top of that, in Bonus Round, you have NO bumpers and the timer will not refresh above 10 seconds! It's a challenge on how well you can deal with strong bots and your overall mastery of the game.
Also, on this difficulty only, Finishing 1st overall on a GP GUARANTEES a Sealed Star, rather than being within A Rank status after the last race of a GP. Perfect, considering there is 1 unlockable for getting all the emeralds AGAIN... but on Master. Sealed Stars will also be on Gear 3 speed rather than Gear 2!

I just found out recently, and it's a gamechanger if you want to get through the higher cups.
There is an official name that escapes me, but the condition is: after a boost pad or boost item.
User input: Tap (do not hold) the drift button, hold a desired direction, then release.
Effect: Enables hairpin turn into a boost.
This much more effective than e-breaking if you know you do not have enough runway to build up a regular drift boost.
Edit: I had forgotten to mention the directional input.

​@@lambasted6886 It's called a sliptide, and yeah you can go stupid fast with it

@@lambasted6886 specifically you have to tap drift while turning inward. so if you start drifting to the right you have to keep holding right to get the sliptide. you can also sliptide out of a full drift if you let go of the button while still turning inward. not as generally useful but can help with some niche spots if you get creative :)
