I stopped drinking. Suddenly I had extra money. I realized I didn't like the woman I was with. I realized I didn't like my job. I realized my family was a drag. I liked myself more and started treating myself better. New friends, new life, Olay.

I hope nobody will ever have to go through what I went through after 2 DUI's lost my job, got a divorce and was couch surfing for a while. I made a decision to quit. My last drink was October of 2019, its now the end of September 2020. I'm finally on the right track and don't plan on drinking. Some people can drink in moderation and others can't just know the difference and be honest of what type of drinker you are to make better decisions.

The reason I quit is anxiety and depression and yes I drank like a fish and hangovers were hell. I’ve been sober for two weeks and don’t plan on going back.

I quit drinking alcohol for 8760 days...Here's what happened - not being arrested anymore, no hangovers, better health, better self-respect, good jobs, friends not based on partying, loving wife, many less stupid mistakes, not saying as many stupid things...the list goes on. Do I miss alcohol? Sure sometimes, but my life has been undisputedly better without it.

I am 27 year old female whom was abusing alcohol since I was 15. It came to a point recently that I started having a bottle a wine a night and craved it. I needed a drink every night and everytime I went out with friends we'd get so drunk the next two days I was wasting nursing my hangover only to do it again. I have wasted so much time and ignored my problems. I am now 1 month and 17 days sober(the longest I've been sober consecutively since i was 15), never looking back. I am grateful I caught myself before it was too late. I plan to help others lead a sober life once I'm strong enough. Appreciated this content! 🙏😊

You make new non drinking friends and activities. It is very sad how much society is pushed into drinking and how it wrecks lives, familys and relationships. An expensive detrimental habit.

Almost 8 months sober now. I thought I'd never be able to quit. After about 30 years heavy drinking.

My dad was an alcoholic... I was well on my way of becoming one. I drank heavily from the age of 20. When I was 34, my dad died. I stopped drinking. Never had one drink since. That was more than 11 years ago. By being sober I feel like my authentic self. One of the best decisions I ever made. Plus I saved SOOO much money by not drinking.

18 months since my last drink. I’ve drank beer pretty much every single day since I started drinking in high school. I have a wife and 5 kids. I’ve had only 1 DUI. I crashed 3 different vehicles while drunk. Ive never been fired or asked to quit a job, however every dumb decision I made in life I can honestly say I was drinking. I mean I jumped over a fence while working on my 3rd 40 and received 3 metal plates and 18 screws to fix my ankle. I took pride in calling myself a functioning alcoholic. One day I didnt feel like drinking anymore, my wife noticed it or at least mentioned it after a month and half. I was pissed she didnt say something earlier. We had our first legit heart to heart in 11 years. I was surprised to hear her. The hardest part of being sober and the biggest regret i have is the feeling I get when looking at pictures of my family, Im in them but I can’t remember anything and in every picture im either drunk with a beer in my hand or passed out drunk. I only wish my kids never drink because they saw first hand what alcohol does. The two biggest things I noticed since quitting drinking was 1 I lost 80 pound, everyone i know thinks im sick or on drugs because I lost so much weight so fast. And the other thing is I sitll have my wife and kids. Im only 34 years old.

I can't drink one beer, I drink 10. I don't drink anymore. Life is soooo much better sober.
