    The engine pulleys on these trucks are pretty easy to replace. When they go bad, they make noise.

    My last 5 trucks/ suvs have all been from 2002- 2011. Love the content considering I’ve had the 4.8, 3 of the 5.3’s, 6.0 and now the 6.2.

    Just replaced my AC tensioner at 400K. It was a good one. Sounded like dry bearings spinning. Took the AC belt off and cranked it ,sound went away .I thought it was the main tensioner. Process of elimination. 2002 silverado 2500 HD.

      Yea, those ac tensioner bearings always go bad and they are really loud.

    On my 06 Tahoe with 108k miles, I replaced the alternator with ACDelco, the serpentine belt, idler, tensioner pulleys, A/C belt and tensioner. Everything GM or ACDelco from the dealer about 1K miles ago. From the sounds of this video how long to you think my 5.3 engine and drive accessories will last, may another 10-15 miles? 100 miles at the most? Maybe one more tank of gas if I'm lucky? That's how this video came across to me. I still clicked like as there was some good information here.

      108k miles. That's barely broken in. You should be good for another 100k. LOL I show everything that can go wrong but doesn't always. I said it in the video.

    Hey Matt, great videos dude! keep them coming. I do have a question for you the 4x4 transfer case shift motor/encoder, is there a brand you recommend? Can you also make a video on this? I would appreciate your help. Thank you,

      I always by Delphi or GM Genuine parts when I can. I don't have a broken 4x4 right now, but I can film one in the future.

    I have a question? I've changed everything on my front brakes except the hard lines and antilock box and the front brakes still is putting pressure on the rotors like its locking up the brakes. Do you have any ideas. I also have a problem with evap canister bad and causing vacuum leak and takes forever to put gas in it from pessure in the tank. Can that cause a issue with my brakes since they work off vacuum?

    Question for anyone to answer:
    My 05 Silverado with the 5.3 will chirp under the hood only when turning, any ideas guys?

    • @MattsShop
      @MattsShop  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Power steering pulley might be slipping the belt a little bit with the wheels fully locked while turning. It puts more strain on the pump.

    I'm curious where is the mechanical fan at on the truck I seen it on the avalanche

    • @MattsShop
      @MattsShop  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a 2006 in like 2003 and up they got rid of the mechanical fans and replaced them with electronic fans.
