    Very interesting. I heard about Victoria Island. It is much like Miami Beach or Palm Beach because Victoria Island is somewhat a very expensive area where many rich people live there even white people, too, many hotels, some foreign embassy offices, Hard Rock Cafe, and lots of upscale stores/restaurants there. If I go to Lagos, I prefer to sleep at one of the hotels on an island, but not in the city due to many crowded areas, too noisy, too wild, and others, but visiting around the city is okay.

    Many thanks! That is how I was told from the Internet. I would love to go to that island. I have a question just because of just out of my curiosity, so I hope you will not mind answering it. Why are there so many black and white stripes on the curbs on many roads? I never saw like that before. Thanks!

    • @UzomaGrace
      @UzomaGrace  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol.. I think to make it visually prominent so as to reduce chance of accident. Black and white stripes are also used on median strips and u-turn lanes for safety, it makes them easier to see. I hope this answer your question and please don’t forget to subscribe for more videos 😊

    Yes, it makes sense. Much easier for them to visualize the black and white stripes especially on the busy roads and heavy traffics on the highways to possibly from automobile accidents, to turn on a u turn, watch people walk across the streets carefully because I suppose if not fr the black and white stripes, things could get uglier, for example: when I was in Montreal, Canada for almost a week in July 1995, the law in Province Quebec requires all motorists to turn the lights on in their vehicles even during DAY HOURS or they could be fined. Why the lights are on during the day hours there at all times? It’s because the lights on help the motorists to avoid from automobile crashes, hitting humans and animals, drive slowly for my protection, or stop at the traffic lights, for example: if I was about to turn left, I would need to see the light on in your vehicle first, so that I have to stop first until you pass, I then turn left. I love, by the way, to learn about many cultures, customs, and histories from many countries. Have you ever been to Canada before? As for me, I went to Canada so many times because I have relatives in Toronto and some in both Hamilton located on Lake Ontario just halfway between Toronto and Niagara Falls and in Montreal. I only went to Montreal twice. Actually my father was born and raised up in Hamilton just a few years before they moved to the USA. His biological parents were born and raised up in Italy for many years before they got married there and a while later, they migrated toCanada. I was born and grew up in Rochester, New York in the USA where it is located on Lake Ontario, one of the 5 Great Lakes (Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, and Lake Superior) and only 3 hours by driving each way plus around 6 hours by driving each way between Rochester and Montreal. I hope we can share the comments here anytime. BIG SMILE!

    Point of correction, Ajah, Sangotedo, lakue, and others are part of Lekki axis. Phase 1 is only part of Lekki axis. VGC and others are also part of Lekki axis. Please get your story straight next time. No disrespect.

    You live in phase one and you can’t afford a 7,000 naira taxi from the airport?

  • @abiolabakare3355
    @abiolabakare3355 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    why airport road only, what of others roads in the country. watch other countries see their roads it's all the same all round. So there's not special in this. All the politicians have been to so many places around the world uk 🇬🇧, usa 🇺🇸 Europe 🇪🇺 Canada 🇨🇦 so they should do the same. All these countries doesn't even have minerals resources. Things works well.

      Cuz those countries, you pay tax on every thing. In Nigeria, do you pay tax on every thing?

    • @blademanx
      @blademanx 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      in UK we pay VAT on Goods, Income Tax, National Insurance, Council Tax

    • @kromahj
      @kromahj 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blademanx right, I live in the USA. I pay state tax, federal tax, county tax, food tax, house tax. Every thing tax. You think they wont fix road. People in Africa complains like they paying more tax .

    • @orukpe1
      @orukpe1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kromahj Exactly . that is the reason we are not developed. Imagine Nigeria income with respect to gdp is just 5 percent while in most advanced countries is 40 to 50 percent.

    • @christopherdigiovanni7864
      @christopherdigiovanni7864 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, they need to make some roads more rooms or add some new roads and/or new highways to erase the worst traffics. Not in Lagos, but here in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area where I live.

    Can Nigeria do away with this Zebra black and white paintings all over their highways its just archaic and overused

    • @alexbanj7a7bc
      @alexbanj7a7bc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      None of your business. It's their country, they do what they like. Your opinion doesn't count. I am assuming you are not Nigerian, as you spoke of Nigeria as "their highways".

    • @christopherdigiovanni7864
      @christopherdigiovanni7864 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think so because many countries have different colors on the highways. I don’t know why Nigeria chose black and white colors for the highways, but probably much easier for the drivers to notice. I am not from Nigeria, so I would have to ask my good friend who lives in Lagos. Maybe the white color prevent from the sun rays that could be very dangerous. Maybe I could be wrong. Maybe I could be right.

      I watched a video and remember, but I am not too sure, that Pakistan has green and white colors on highways - maybe because of the National flag’s colors.
