Happy Sunday beautiful people! I hope you enjoyed this video. And SHARE any video requests you may have. (a flight review/vlog is coming soon so stay tuned). Wishing you all a fantastic week ahead ❤❤
There's a table now for you to put your luggage on at the first NDLEA check point. It was really seamless for me and hassle free. Loads of space, working charging ports etc
Beautiful airport hopefully I will be able to experience it in December by God’s grace, Nigerians 🇳🇬 please learn to appreciate something WITHOUT any form of negativity. I was going through the comments and people are talking about maintenance culture why that, same thing online about the electric trains I don’t get it. It’s what we say about our country that determines how WE are treated by foreigners and perceived as well (no exceptions) I am glad of the positive developments in Nigeria ❤.
Sassy, Longtime o!! Looking good as always. Babes, The new airport fine o!! Keep up the good work. I am looking forward to seeing the new terminal soon!! 🙏🏾👊🏽🙏🏾😘
Sassy, the new airport fine o! Thanks again for some critical Sassy Funke content navigating us through new terminal. Hopefully, Nigerians will embrace this new terminal and demand that a maintenance culture be embraced and treating it as the shiny jewel that it is. I didn’t hear from you any points of employee extortion… has that been eviscerated?! Thanks again for your essential content😊!
Thank you so much for this updated video. This was the new, international terminal, correct? I will be flying on United Airlines. Is this where I will go? Thank you for including the bathrooms! That was a concern of mine. Yes, please make another video and show the shops and restaurants before and after security. Where do you sit to wait for your plane? How long does it take from the time your ride drops you off until you can get to your gate if you have to check a bag. So many steps, I need to make a list. Just to get into the airport you have to show your boarding information and open your bag on the ground for them to poke around? Also could you make an updated video on landing in the airport coming from the US? What should I expect as an US citizen traveling for the first time. Thank you!!!
Looks like a beautiful airport. Great information very informative. I know security is needed, but if they already checked you in once, why go through the same process when you are going through boarding? Surely, if someone is doing something illegal, that should be caught when you first enter the airport. That many check, nothing or anyone, should be making it through this airport.
I will be flying to Lagos in Oct. on United airlines. It seems it always arrives at Terminal 1, Gate E55. Could you please do a video on where that is? I cannot find a map of the Lagos airport. I have seen the beautiful new terminal but Terminal 1 is the old terminal, right? And where will I come out to meet my friend? and where will they drop me off when I depart to fly back to the US from Terminal 1, Gate E55. If you are kind enough to do a video, could you also include the bathrooms like you did on your video of the new terminal? Thank you so much for your videos! I need all the help I can get lol
Yet to have that experience, Lufthansa still uses the old terminal . Less hassle this time only carry on for a short day Breeze out, breeze in online check in🏃🏿
Thanks a bunch. It's well explained. It looks great but a little strewn with many checks. Lets know when many major airlines begun to use this terminal.
@@SassyFunke Obudu is not a test case for the following reasons. First, it is owned by Cross River State and not Federal Government. Secondly, Obudu and Tinaoa were abandoned by the Ben Ayade administration. Thirdly, Obudu is a resort not an airport. The comparison is akin to the orange and apple analogy.
@@andersonojoshimite6047what these people are simply trying to say is that we lack maintenance culture in Nigeria and allow supposedly good public projects rust away. Maybe i should include the national stadiums both in Lagos and Abuja.
Thank you Sassy Funke for this much needed video Keep up the good work. . I used Qatar Airlines in March this year and found out that we checked in via the New International Airport/Terminal, but we actually departed from the old terminal 😆. Also, there was a table for your luggage at that 1st security check point.
Thanks for sharing this insightful information. I’m wondering- do they require proof of vaccines or proof of vaccination from COVID? Or is that not a requirement anymore?
Lagos's new aiport mobile procedures are very compartmentalized making for better efficiency. You have a great voice Sassy. One that can speak on any topic. My Tanzanian friend loves the way Nigerian women speak. Like "fine o". haha You know I really do not know why, other than repetition, they are continued to be referred to as suitcases. Most travelers do not pack suits. Good stuff once again Sassy. Thumbs Up!
New Airport is fine oh ...quick question you mentioned two places where family not traveling with you cannot enter can you please clarify at what point does your family say bye to you my apologies if a similar question has been asked and answered
From the entrance of the airport terminal, they are likely to turn family members away. If they don't and they are able to enter the terminal, they will definitely not let them go towards immigration (after the check in process is completed)
Good job Sassy! Great information. What is the estimated timeline (worst case scenario) to go through this process at this Lagos International Airport(Terminal 2)? Thanks
This video is very informative but I'm not gonna lie, I've lost count of all the checking.... checking,...... checking.......hmmmmmm.....I think it's fair to say that you need to arrive 4hours early so you have enough time to go through all the checks and get to your boarding area on time. Just my observation 🚶🚶🚶🚶
Bloody heck how many security checks, these guys diffuse the customer experience of travelling One security check at the entrance should be enough plus the X-ray after passport control It’s a rigmarole The other thing I notice is at immigration, beside the warped way of creating employment is what is the essence of the two checks, can’t one agent perform all asks even if you have to have more agents on the job, it will make things flow better and give a good experience The airport needs to flow otherwise it’s just a shiny object with the same obstacles Great building but the process need to improve otherwise it’s still not a good experience travelling through Nigeria
Its not all airline that are in the new terminal right? Thank you for all these. I really do appreciate. As a first time traveller going this month, it is overwhelming. I've never even seen the airport physically in my life. So the anxiety is at its peak.😢
The whole process of security is way too much. Someone will missed their flight by the time their done checking. They need to improve on that. It should be more improved system and well structured, making it an easy process for the travellers.
What about bribes? Is it still so bad like before ? Im afraid to travel trough Lagos airport as im sure they will lock me up or make my flight delay as i will never ever pay few hundreds euro bribes to take my departure...I want to visit nigeria but that airport making me stress and change my holiday plans every single time when i think about nigeria....because of these bribes last 15 times i went to east africa instead Nigeria...hope something changed over there and these days people can departure in Lagos like everywhere else without stress and bribes...please make a video with updates. Respect Sassy
Watching this video will stress people out before they even get to this airport. I wonder how many passengers miss their flights because of all these checks and delaying tactics? These officials will be after some dash even more now due to the current economic situation.
2:38 "...How long will this last with our maintenance culture...?" Why are Nigerians so inherently negative? You can't make one positive video without inserting a "but". Abuja airport is functional years after commissioning. The rail networks and stations are well-run. We are not animals. Stop the needless negativity.
In Funke’s defense , our rap sheet is long but it is understood that we shouldn’t project what is not there , it’s hard when you have precedence though My beer with the airport is not structural which I find impressive, it’s operational (tedious process)
@@SupremeBros2012 I agree, but we also have precedence of sound maintenance. When the Abuja Airport was commissioned, many said it wouldn't last a year. It has been running efficiently for years now. Ditto: The Lagos-Ibadan and Kaduna-Abuja Rails. We need to stop this penchant for always expecting doom for our country. It is self-defeatist.
Looks like this is a terminal fitting of Nigeria's position on the continent. The security checks appeae to be onerous but one hopes they are there for the safety of passengers and the city.
Funke, thanks for the information but how many checking do you need? I have not traveled through the new airport but I am not impressed my sister. Just the maize you go through before you finally rest will make you dizzy. Common people. When are we going to make things easy for our people? If you travel through JFK airport, you only need to check-in at the counter, go through the TSA and go to the boarding gate. Very simple. I appreciate what the government is doing but more needs to be done. We are a great nation for crying out loud. Let us do a better job. I still travel through the old airport but I pray for improvement. Good job sassy Funke ❤
It would be wonderful if this new terminal was available for international travelers using the major carriers (Delta, United, Virgin etc.) we still have to use the old terminal 😢
The people that you pay for trolleys are scarmers they took #1,500 from me despite the fact that I told her I do not need any help. I went back to get #1,300 after making a lot of fuss.
Why so many screenings and checkings? This is cumbersome. Can anything be simple at all in Nigeria? I have been through many international airports, and none was so tedious. You have only one security screening for everything ranging from contraband, safety, and drug. When Nigerian Authorities introduce any new thing, they show unnecessary overzealousness.
Sassy, why are some of nigerian security officer's don't like to put on their uniform, so that we can identify them better, instead of putting on casual clothes. Or are they ashamed of the nigeria uniform, or should be proud of their work and the country nigeria.
Agreed, it also creates resentment when you see someone in a seemingly casual clothes asking you questions about where you are going I still think all these checks are counter productive and it perpetuates the bribery culture
