    The pulse in TCM is a great tool to help diagnose patients but it's also the most difficult to grasp and master. ➜ Access the PDF for the PULSE Diagnosis in TCM here: www.acuproacademy.ca/Pulse-Diagnosis-in-TCM

    This video, even more than the pdf, gives me confidence in learning to take pulses. We were just learning, the Covid disrupted school. Now we are back and have to report on 3 pulses a week. I felt overwhelmed and intimidated. Your joyful teaching encourages me t go out and build my knowledge base, starting with fast or slow. I remember in January of 2020 only being able to feel the pulse of one person in class. I tried on five people, but was too nervous! This man had a pulse I called "disco." Now I see it is better described as superficial and forceful. Merci infiniment!

      All organs pulses are considered normal in the middle postions and abnormal at the superficial and deep levels. They are abnormal on their quality even at the middle level (ie: wiry or choppy)

    Hey Clara, I was wondering what is your take on a client who has tachycardia which is an increase in the pulse rate?? How does the rate conflict with constitutional levels and symptoms of the tachycardia

    • @Acuproacademy
      @Acuproacademy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Great question! That’s why the pulse is very relative...with tachycardia, it comes from a disorder usually, like high blood pressure. That’s often an excess Heat in TCM. Then you can always look at the quality of the pulse to get your full information. 🙏🥰

      Unfortunately TCM doesn't work that way, we treat the person as a whole, not the disorder. We look at the tongue, take the pulse, look for the root cause and then form a treatment plan. Go see a qualified practitioner in your area to guide you 🌷

  • @francoisvinks9981

    According to the Nanjing your index finger shouldn't be at LU-9 position. You first put your middle finger at 1 cun below the fishline of your wrist and then you put your index finger and your ring finger next to it. When you do this then you wil see that your index finger wil rest on the styloidproces of the radius bone and not behind it at LU-9. Lu-9 is a space, between 2 bones which is part of the wrist joint. Every pulse position has a yang surface and a yin depth position. The surface yang level is the skin and the depth yin level is at the bone, and so the cun position just like the guan and chi position needs to have a skin and bone level which wil not be the case when you put your index finger at LU-9. An other thing is that the radial artery splits up in 2 after the styloidproces which is called a bifurcation, this is not a spot where you can feel a clear pulse. And at last i want to point at an other chapter in the Nanjing where they describe the depth of the different pulses which is most superficial at the Cun position and guess where this is ? Exactly, this is right on top of the process styloid bone where the distance from bone to skin is very little in compare to spots proximal and distal to this point. So Also in this matter the cun position (HRT and LU position) should be here at the process styloid.
