One way to solve the touts problem imo, would be to massively invest into a state transport organization and ban private transport business. Then absorb the agberos into the state transportation company
They're not even the ones he's describing. The agberos do nothing but extort money and exert violence claiming to be task forces. Those that call out destinations only help bus/taxi drivers without passengers to load their vehicles with passengers faster and they get a kind of commission.
You’re very articulate in your analysis.. Many of the residents of Lagos can testify to your analysis as, it is 100% true. When lagosians are ready to be free from these nonentities called Lagos agberos, NURTW, or motor park and garage as they called them now.. When lagosians are ready, they are capable of taking back their state from these wereys.. we all saw what happened during the endsars protest in Lagos, even their godfathers dare not to come out and address the people, because they do not have any good reputation, we all saw what happened on Saturday Feb the 25th during the presidential election in Lagos state, the so called tinubus owns state.. He was defeated by numbers of people of lagos that were sick and tired of their schenanigans. We all knows what happened to saddam hussein right? Having been said, thank you for this informative video. 👍
The "Agbero" street lord has already taken over in Nigeria. The "Al Capone" of Nigerian Politics has "won" the elections unless the courts hopefully decide otherwise. Some points to make: 1) Agbero is a Yoruba word meaning "Someone who helps to load a Transport Vehicle." It has become euphemistically used to refer to a thug because Motor Parks have historically been centers for the distribution of drugs. 2). The NURTW has always been a political force to reckon with. It is not exactly a new phenomenon. The difference is that Tinubu has enabled the creation of a Corporate Structure.... Otherwise, those of us observing and direct participants in Nigeria's political space have warned about the dangers of centralisation. Such dangers that produced incompetent people like Muhammudu Buhari and now a mafia boss as a President Elect.....Great Informative piece.
Aside the fact that it is lucrative. If any government stops this thugs from these activities, without absorbing them into something else legal, you'd get a stupendous level of criminal activities that would overwhelm the security system.
@@13thghost42 And even if we should agree with this assertion, There has to be a check system of their activities. How do you regulate Area boys? How do you reduce their extortion on the streets? The agbero issue in Lagos runs really deep. The ruling power is behind every damn thing. I welcome this investigative journalism, and i pray the voice of the people is never silenced. 🙏
Watching ur videos is the only antidote I need to survive in this Lagos.
Amazing one Jude, as you expose this evil, pls ensure that you take your security serious, your location, family and any other personal information should be hidden away from the public.
Keep up the good work.
Jude, you have my deepest respect for your videos. This one especially hit me hard. Taking power from the reins of APC will be extremely difficult but I pray the people who would achieve that feat wouldn't tow the same line but transform Lagos to its fullest potentials.
One way to solve the touts problem imo, would be to massively invest into a state transport organization and ban private transport business. Then absorb the agberos into the state transportation company
This is a masterpiece 👏🏻👏🏻
You have found a strong supporter in me.. I've finally found a Nigerian TH-camr worth following, keep doing the good work
The literal translation of 'Agbero' is the person who shouts out the bus destination to prospective passengers.
They're not even the ones he's describing.
The agberos do nothing but extort money and exert violence claiming to be task forces.
Those that call out destinations only help bus/taxi drivers without passengers to load their vehicles with passengers faster and they get a kind of commission.
Lived in Lagos almost all my life but this is the first time I'm actually understanding what it's supposed to mean. Agba Ero
Jude may God bless you,I admire your intelligence.may God continue to guide you
Wow, thank you
Jude Bela thanks for this documentary. And pls also run an investigation about Port Harcourt thugs and criminal activities thank you 🙌
😭😭😭😭😭, I cry, bitter analysis. God will help us in Nigeria.
Good work bro. I just want you you to know that as I get legit information from you, I preach it to my peers. I guess I'm like a prophet of Jude Bela.
I enjoyed this, very insightful and high quality presentation 👏👏👏👏
Very well pure together Jude
This is something we all know but needed to Know more of
Keep up your Wonderful work 👏
You’re very articulate in your analysis.. 👍
This is very great!! I love this video because it is very educative.
Great reporting. Well done for your work. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The "Agbero" street lord has already taken over in Nigeria. The "Al Capone" of Nigerian Politics has "won" the elections unless the courts hopefully decide otherwise. Some points to make:
1) Agbero is a Yoruba word meaning "Someone who helps to load a Transport Vehicle." It has become euphemistically used to refer to a thug because Motor Parks have historically been centers for the distribution of drugs.
This is very well made, I commend your effort.
Thuggery is widespread throughout the country. It's hard to see how they can be contained.
Excellent reporting.... the script is captivating and the edits so beautiful...had to watch till the end..... Great work
I learnt Fashola tried to end this agbero business when he was governor of Lagos State but their God father didn't allow him
Aside the fact that it is lucrative. If any government stops this thugs from these activities, without absorbing them into something else legal, you'd get a stupendous level of criminal activities that would overwhelm the security system.
You have a very good point here.
@@13thghost42 And even if we should agree with this assertion,
There has to be a check system of their activities. How do you regulate Area boys? How do you reduce their extortion on the streets? These are main issues...
In the end, the society is still suffering from it. Evident is what we have in the last elections where they are operating without control, even in the presence of security operatives. This shouldn't be!
@@realjudebela well, that would mean you get them a legal source of income
@@13thghost42 only Col. Marwa was successful to rid lagos of agbero. He provided tricycle for them as PAS.
Reason why they are called "Keke marwa".
You did a great job on this.. Indept and factual! Kudos
Hats Off my Brother, you have done a great Job..

You have really done well with these documentary. We really need to share these and let it go round. A new political party Like Labor need to take over Lagos.
Jude , God bless you and protect you. Please any idea how these findings can be shared to relevant international organisations , Nigeria Public and Army. This is exceeding. What actions can follow , It is sad
