@@dlaliberte5633 1st off, never did i state in my comment I had soul. This is my opinion..reasons for my opinion is if you look at some of the most soulful artis they grew up with hardships! James brown, Ray Charles, etta James, Alicia keys, marvin gay, smokey Robinson Jr! All grew up with hardships and poverty.
And the back ground singer is actually his wife... And she is amazing as well!

Chris Stapleton does a cover of "Its a man's world" from the "Godfather of Soul" James Brown, and his rendition is fire.
He also does a version of folsom prison blues that's incredible. He had a bluegrass fase as well.

This song was originally recorded by David Alan Coe then by George Jones in the early 80s, so this song is very old.
I knew there was something familiar with the song. I just couldn't pin point it til I read this. The cassette tapes in my childhood home which included various country and classic rock albums were already too damaged to be played when I was in middle school so it has already been more than ten years since I heard DAC's Tennessee whiskey

Brooks and Dunn, I Belive. It is the singer of the song (Ronnie Dunn) real life story of a man he grew up with. Ronnie his self was going into the minisitry before he went into singing. Truly an amazing song and the video makes it so much better.

Certainly a great song, but I've seen no evidence of it being a true story. Many many people have made that claim, but when I ask, no one can provide me with any evidence supporting it.
David Allan Coe wrote this song. George Jones did a cover and then Chris Stapleton. This version is by far the best.

“I was wrong” live at Austin City Limits is fantastic.
I think that version is great, and certainly has a great instrumental after the point where the live version ends, but the way the live version ends is really cool to me. I love the sound of that little musical scale he does with his voice at the end, with the word "wrong," the way it steps down and just drops off abruptly and ends. I think that's kind of lost in the live version, because the listener is immediately distracted by more music, rather than being left hanging on that last little run.

Chris Stapleton is far and beyond country. He's done many songs that could easuly cross over to any music genre. Although he's not the first to do this song, his rendition is by far the best. Also, love your channel... Shiloh, you provide a well received service to music lovers and give some great reviews that compel me to listen to music I might never have. I do not follow country songs all that much, but I know some are very soulful. In fact, Ray Charles often found inspiration in them and there has been a lot of mutual interaction between the two types of music. This seems like one of the best. I have never heard this one before and I thank you for your review.

I like watching reaction videos and just stumbled on your channel today. Watched at least 10 videos so far and am now a subscriber. I love the fact you don't pause a lot during the songs like other reaction videos do. Allowing you to hear more details and really "feel" the music. Nice job. Chris is an insanely accomplished songwriter and musician. Look into his band prior to going solo. "The Steeldrivers"
First off, you’re drop dead beautiful. If you told me you were a model I’d 1000% believe you lol. As for other Chris Stapleton songs, I’d recommend Parachute and/or I was wrong. He has many great songs but those two are some of my favorite. Also, I see you do rock too. I don’t know if you’re familiar with Blind Melon but they were a band from the 90’s. They’re still around but the original lead singer, Shannon Hoon, died in 1995, which was only a few years after they became big. They had many great songs but they didn’t seem to get the recognition that I believe they truly deserved. Not many people have reacted to their videos so you might be able to garner some more views if you do. No Rain was their mainstream hit so if you consider doing them then I’d start off with that since people are more familiar with it. Change, Galaxie, Mouthful of Cavities, Skinned (based off Ed Gein, the serial killer who was the inspiration for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies), Toes Across the Floor, Candy Says (Live), St Andrews Hall (written about a young woman that Shannon saw commit suicide by jumping from a building in Detroit. There was about two hundred people in the streets watching and some of them were yelling at her to jump which she ultimately did. Like most of his songs, this one had a deep meaning to it), Paper Scratcher, Time, Vernie, and All That I Need are some of their best songs. He had a unique voice, and was truly talented. For every great artist who has died young, there is a large group of people who seek to revel in times past. I was only three days old when he died, so it’s hard for me to really do such but I’ve shown them to my friends of all colors and they seem to really enjoy their music. I truly think that a few reviews on them could be a homerun for you, and hey, you never know, you may even have a new favorite band lol. Anyways, don’t ever give up with what you’re doing, and keep up the grind! You’ll be at a million subs in no time!

Girl, I am so much in love with Chris Stapleton voice! Though I mainly perform Tina Turner's music, I became so intoxicated by Chris Stapleton's voice, I have started performing the song myself, on my Tina Turner days of! Lol!The song has been a big hit for me with my fans.I could never measure up to Chris' version, but I gave it my best shot! Funny, fact, is that I don't drink any alcohol at all, period, so I try to act out and sing this song as though I do! I love his voice and his stage presence madly!
