I think this episode made me smile the most of all your videos. While it matters it fits and works, your time with your grandparents is more important than how you put wood and screws together. Sitting down to lunch with grandma, grandpa and potato pancakes is priceless.

When I first saw your grandma in one of your videos a long time ago it was obvious you were truly at home with her. It is cool to see you home. I bet they think so too. Vilk owns you. Grandpa joking in the end! So sweet of him! Building stuff is a growing passion, it's like a puzzle. If you have seen in done there is always a solution that you can find, if it hasn't been done you can try ( and again and again and again). Every building task is a new learning opportunity that enriches the way you think and understand every single piece of furniture. As you can understand I am into building and fixing things. All the above is why I am fascinated by it. Plus it gives me bonding opportunities with my dad, so it's cool.

Most of the time this kind of video’s show ‘perfection’. Nothing goes wrong…. A bit unrealistic and giving you the feeling that will never happen with your own project.

You can strengthen the drawers by adding some 90 degree "L" brackets. You especially need them where the piece with the handles connects to the sides and bottom. Otherwise, they may break apart when pulling them open with excess force. Good job, and also great memories you have created with your grandparents,

"Maybe it's not very smart of me to make it so public on the Internet that I am incompetent at certain things..."
I love that you made this point because so many people pretend to be something they're not. It's refreshing when people are just open about themselves in this way because you're being real and when we are real in front of others, a lot of other people go, "Oh, okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one" and are willing to open up too. Love you for this Eva. Keep it up girl.

A lifetime memory for you Eva, this time with your grandfather. It's the same for your grandfather as well, as this is something that will stand out in his mind - time spent with you, and he feels he's passed something down to you.
As for building something yourself, there is something so empowering in using a tool to successfully complete a job. It can be very addictive! Lol. COVID saw me essentially take over as the building manager at work, and my tool collection has expanded almost exponentially - and I have ZERO regrets in buying and learning to use, each and every tool. Embrace your tools! Learn to use them, master them, even fix them. It's a time investment that pays back in so many different ways.

I lost my grandfather at 20. He was a master carpenter who worked on some major projects in the area in his day, including foreman on a nuclear plant that's out of commission and something called "the fish ladder" on the Connecticut River. I would've loved to learn his trade, but he was already out of work on disability by the time I was a little kid. I do have one great memory, simply building a fence in the backyard of the house he had built for his family. It was really cool to have done something like that with him.

I think we don't need to have everything figured out, I guess most of us don't have these skills unless we learn or need them at some point. We are so used to seeing the final result in so many TH-cam videos that we forget all the tears and the hard work that were put into it. We are not perfect, we are just humans.

You know Eva , you do have to start somewhere with your carpentry skill. As you do it more , you will become very proficient . One point , if I may, when doing your drawers. Try to use some
of the more solid woods i.e. pine, maple or birch etc. whatever available , not Plywood . You don't want to split the wood when screwing the sides together. You know your grandpa is
right . Slow down. It's not a race all the time. Sending you much love ❤❤ from our current location in Cascais , Portugal Jim, Harriet and Yuki

Many years ago, when I was in High School I had a project where I needed to get the dimensions of our house. I thought that I would have to measure each room's walls on the inner part of the house. My Mom knew that I was struggling so she encouraged me to ask my Dad for help. When I asked him, he took me outside and we measured the house and with his help, it was actually a lot easier. My Dad passed away last year and Eva is right, cherish the family you have around you and keep alive the good memories! Your project turned out great Eva!!

Jesteś wizualnie podobna do dziadka. Oglądając wyobrażałem sobie, że będę takim dziadkiem dla dzieci mojego 3,5 rocznego syna :)

Peoples shouldn’t be afraid of trying something they know nothing about. Everyone has to start at zero and move forward. They don’t have to become experts to really enjoy something either. I’m retired now and don’t consider myself expert anything, but I am at least mediocre at a lot of things and I’ve had a lot of fun. Oh, and one more thing, grandpa‘s NEVER let their granddaughters fail, not if they can help it. 😊❤️

Isn't this technically your 2nd build? Your uncle and brother helped you build out Odyssey.

Odyssey is an over lander ment for living in for months at a time. This is a short term camper/ sleeper weekender. And a Daly driver that seats four.
