Too much energy may be a result of diet, so sugar of an afternoon and night will definitely keep you up, but look for places in your diet you can improve. I have the same problem, I found when I ate healthier and went for a run I was sleeping solid from 10 to 7.
Honestly it is a cycle that self perpetuates into existence, the first few times are gonna be harsh, but then that forces you to be tired earlier. Within a week. your body recalibrates, and you will start waking up atleast around 8 if not earlier
