I also own the A1 whose sound quality is impressive but not nearly as impressive as the Beolit 15. In my view the Beolit 15 is also a bit "shy" compared to the A6 for instance but I suppose the M5 could be compared nearest to the Beolit 15. However, the M5 is a little more expensive. Csaba Rozinyak I'm not sure about that but I'm working on it! M5 in terms of sound sits between BeoLit 15 and BeoPlay A6. Plus you get the advantage of Multiroom, Chrome Cast and Airplay with M5 where as BeoLit 15 is only Bluetooth. Thanks for watching. John

The Beosound 1 is far superior in every way. This was Bang and Olufsen's intention of course because the model is a cut above. The M5 sounds to be that it just has more punch and stronger bass but the clarity I don't think would be as good as the Beosound 1. All for obvious reasons B&O really had to go to extreme limits to engineer such an audio system and of course it would have better sound then it's lower speakers. It's all very high end and extremely impressive. B&O "like no one else"
Speaking of the B&O apps, I was quite disappointed my A9 can't be used with the Beolay app along with my A2 since they are from the same family of products. I think the boeplay app is the best app of the bunch and I especially love the EQ interface. Do you think they will bring support for the A9 to this app? I had hoped use multiroom to play upstairs and downstairs from the A2 and A9 simultaneously but i can't see a way to do it at the moment.

I consider buing M5 for a long time, but i would like to use it for all my devices (WIN10 desktop with USB BT adapter, Macbook, iPhone). Is it possible to connect M5 to PC/Mac using bluetooth? If so, will there be any latency during playback that would make it impossible to watch movies, etc.?

Hi John- Have got the Beolit 17 in yet. Have they improved on the sound and battery or is it a cosmetic upgrade ? It would be great if it sounded as good as the M5 with portability .

problem is, through time, problem with this unit is that as you increase its volume to more than half of the power, the usb connection simply loses connection. you will get an intermittent sound... can't do anything about it. thats my problem with M5.. any suggestion?
What B&O app on the IOS operating system supports the M5? The previous app I had no longer is available that use to recognize the M5. So now I am not able to configure it via an app.
Hello jhon, I have a doubt. I have an A6 and I really like it, but has failure so b&o propose to me change it for 2x M5. I’m not really familiarized with M5. Ask for your opinion. What would you choose. Another A6 or two M5? I like sound loud. Fill my entire apartment.
Hi Andres, personally I would choose 2 M5. They sound great and you now have multi room with 2. You can use them in different rooms or put one at each end if you have a big room to fill a bigger space. It's your call because A6 is very good but that's what I would do. John.
Wow John, you are fast!! Sadly I don't think the M5:s comes close to being a Bang & Olufsen product design wise. Dull design, looks like a truncated Amazon Echo with a bit more premium materials in the cover material. All the same I love your channel. 2017 is the year I am upgrading my BeoLab 9s for BeoLab 5:s

If it was me choosing for my house I would probably choose A6. But I would be happy to own either, both are very nice. I highly recommend that you go and have a listen to both and see which one you prefer. John.
If you listen to five people you will have five opinions. The best way to know which one is better for you is to bring you ears and if possible some samples of your music to a B.O center. Anyway after 3 years you may have found the answer.

No way to do it externally. You’re best bet is to factory reset(hold the setup button on the bottom for 5 seconds). You can the set it up all over with the app and you will be shown an update is available. Hope the helps 😁
No you can't. BeoLit 15 is Bluetooth only and has no Multi-Room. You can pair 2 BeoLit 15's in stereo in the same room or use multiple BeoPlay M5 with BeoPlay A6, A9, BeoSound 1, 2, 35, Essence or Moment with the Multi-Room system. John.
M5 and BeoLit 17 are pretty close in terms of sound. I would listen to both in store if you can to compare them. If you don't need Multi-Room, Airplay, Chromecast and DLNA then BeoLit 17 is a great choice. If you wan't something with more connectivity and don't need optional battery power then M5 is the way to go. John
I would also like to comment the software is shocking !!! Sonos / Bluesound much better.... I would also like to select Left / right as I use 4 in one Room !!!
M5 came before that was introduced into the smaller speakers. All new speakers with the Mozart platform have room EQ. Beosound Balance, Level, Emerge and Beolab 28. Slightly older products that have EQ are A9 and the big daddies...Beolab 50 and 90.
I have to take everything back. In the store it sounded like a worse a6 but at home it's a beast! Imagine a a1+s3 on steroids. Strangely it sounds better than the bigger a6.

Ernesto Cruz the s3 is a hard contender. The m5, the Vifa Oslo, Vifa Copenhagen, Harman kardon Go play. And the m5 being the best and loudest one here.
