I need to update my old 80's B&o sound system and equipment. I hate to part with it since it 's still in great working order. However, I bet the newer systems kick ass. Love my B&o!

From my understanding, for this product to be wireless, you also need to buy the B&O Transmitter 1 and the Beocore, otherwise they are unable to function as wireless speakers. However, I might be wrong because I've asked many dealers and suppliers, and I always seem to get a different answer to this question, but based on what I've heard, this I'm fairly sure what is needed for this product to function as a wireless speaker.

      Hi Tom,
thanks for your comment. We will be happy to clarify.
All three speakers mentioned in the video are support wireless connection (WISA built-in). The source they are connected to must support wireless/WISA as well, otherwise a Beolab 1 Transmitter is needed in the setup. So it depends very much on the source the speakers are connected with.
      Hope this helps.
Feel free to reach out anytime, should you have any other questions or concerns.
      Kind regards,

They are active speakers, which needs a power cord to each speaker.
For the most part a power outlet would be much closer to the speaker position than the source of the sound which it traditionally needs to be wired to.

No doubt it's great design and undoubtedly great sound as well. But it will still need power to work and therefore can not be called wireless, IMHO.

@jhutters you wouldn't be thinking that those speakers are battery powered do you? Just look at the sizes, do you even want to carry them around? I do not think so. The true benefit of a wireless speaker is that you can access it anywhere in your house, without being constricted of staying close to the speaker with the cable jacking into your device at all times. If you are looking for a battery powered devices, look elsewhere. These devices are not made for portability.

I don't get this. My phone has all the control features I will ever need. Both the Essence and this thing seem completely redundant from a control perspective, although I do realise that something has to spread all of that WISA goodnees through the house.

it might be because they make speakers, and logically they wont solve wireless power transmission problem. that's down to others.

I just went to their showroom in Pasadena and they wouldn't play any of their equipment for me to sample. They said they only do it on special occasions. What a rip off!

Exactly. The absence of power cords in the video is striking and must be a deliberate choice to give us the false impression of true wireless speakers. Is this acceptable? I don't think so.

Folks, these are passive speakers, thus the power is only needed for the amplifier.

    • @CJT3X
      @CJT3X 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Um... so it wirelessly sends the power to the speakers from the amplifier along with the audio?

This video delivered no meaningful information just style over substance. What was this video about? A guy with fighterjets fetishes, Paul playing the quitar 3 seconds, a random guy cutting wood... etc.
