    • @maarten6656

      @@NickDuncombe you are asking too much off a product that is not made for that purpose. If you want stereo, buy a headset or an actual pair of stereo speakers for PC, sadly B&O doesn’t have those anymore. even go for actual stereo speakers depending on what you want to use it for.

  • @ftemmerm

    It's nice to see B&O is cranking out so many new products, especially since we're always treated with a nice video of yours. However, it seems B&O has a lot of products in its range which are very close to eachother (Explore and A1, Balance and BS2, etc.) while at the same time we still have no soundbar with rear speakers for example. I just think they are missing a huge market opportunity there, especially given how well the Stage has been received.

    Hi there from Australia... I just bought my explore today... What a simply amazing piece of kit. Sitting outside under my patio, enjoying a beautiful cigar and glass of whiskey... Its Friday afternoon here... Listening to my cigar jazz playlist... It is simply amazing. the quality of sound at mid volume is beautiful in an outdoor setting... Plus not so loud as to annoy the neighbours.
    Love your videos and made the purchase based on your comments... Thank you.

    I could not comprehend how they can get so completely rid of the fairly meaty bass the A1 has for it’s size. But seeing the composition with the super small drivers explains it.

    Hm thank you for your Overview and even Sound Comparison. I DO have to say though for the same price I would personally go with the 2nd Gen A1. Sound much crisper and slightly better in Bass. I do own the 1st Gen A1 which I use for I think 4 Years now and its still the Best small Speaker (especially after using the B&O App with the EQ). Sometimes the Highs are a little to sizzling for me but something in between those two would be perfect Sound wise because the Explore Sounds a little to dull for me - thats were you here the difference between a 2 way and 1 way Speaker I guess.
    With that being said: The A1 is still the King Sound wise but if you want something in a similar size and prize which is more robust for outdoor usage you should go for the Explore.

    Those rabbits are hungry! Look away for a second, and the next thing you know is that the Explore is gone. As for the Explore, I think it’s a lovely little speaker and it’s great to have a «grill» with lines rather than the wholes of the A1/P1/etc. My 1-year-old has just knocked one of the speakers out of place in the back of my Beolit 15 that he’s been fondly hooked by recently, so maybe an Explore would suit his needs better. And there’s an excuse for me to get a Level ;). I’ll still wait for smoked oak though if it ever comes.

    Hi John, I wonder if you would be kind enough to tech support me in regard to this new little speaker in my life that is lovingly referred to as _'The Grenade'_ in my household. I'm thinking of getting a 2nd one to stereo pair them. I know you can either do this via the mobile app or manually with the speakers themselves but my question is: do they _stay_ paired once connected together?
    For instance, if they power down and you turn them on again the next day, or if you swap between different devices will they still be paired? My scenario is that I'd like to pair them together then connect them to my Mac and enjoy the stereo sound with them. In the Bluetooth menu will they simply appear as one speaker, with the primary speaker being the only bluetooth option available?
    I've tried to look up the answer to this online but either no one's asked this before, or my Googling is terrible.
    Cheers!

      The Explore has a 2 year warranty and it will get replaced within that period if there is a hardware problem that is covered. I can't send portable speakers off for repair, they only get replaced. If someone worked out how to do A1 I'm sure Explore will be no different. Although don't do it within 2 years as it will void the warranty.

    • @BangOlufsenManchester
      @BangOlufsenManchester  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Beosound is music systems and streaming speakers regardless of size.
      Beoplay seems to be reserved for headphones now
      Beovision is TV's
      Beolab are hifi stereo loudspeakers for connecting to audio systems or televisions
      Bonus facts, Beolit comes from the Danish word for Bakelite, a nod back to the old Beolit 39.
      A in A9 just means AUDIO

    3 hrs 22 at full volume, so knowing it's max current draw we'd be able to determine it's battery capacity, I'd hazard a guess on a 3500ma 3.7volt cell, not likely an off the shelf standard one but a lithium cell or possibly lipo.
    But sound is about quality and actual output is hard to compare like for like with other's.
    Many of the large tube type Speakers seem to enhance bass to such a level that they lose mid range which is where the majority of instrumention and vocals are.
    I loathe listening to bass drums and crashing symbols and not much else

    Hi John, thanks for the great videos as always 😀 did this speaker loosen up the more you listened to it with regards to better bass response? Out of the box I've never been so underwhelmed by the sound of a speaker it's just so tinny sounding. This thing is solid though, very well built and a pleasure to look at in black.

      @BangOlufsenManchester  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try the different pre-sets in the B&O app, I found the Optimal setting was best or use the Beosonic to tune to your liking. It's only tiny so it can never produce a lot of bass.
      If you want a sound with a bit more low end try the Beosound A1 2nd gen instead. John

    Thank you for the review, John!
    Now I have two questions. First: could you please explain the naming? I thought, that BeoSound lineup is a premium part of B&O, and the BeoPlay is for ordinary people. However, now this cheap speaker is BeoSound, not BeoPlay...
    Second: where did the P6 go? Will it return as a second generation? I thought of buying the second one, but couldn't find it...
    Thanks in advance for the answers!

    • @ftemmerm

      I think they're just moving from Beoplay to Beosound for new products but not renaming the old ones. The A9 for example is at the top in the Beosound/Beoplay range but it is still named Beoplay.

    • @BangOlufsenManchester
      @BangOlufsenManchester  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, the naming seems to have settled down a bit now. So...
      P in P6 is PORTABLE
      M in M3 and M5 mean MOVEABLE
      S in S8 and S3 meant STATIONARY
      H is headphones like H9, H8 etc
      E is earphones like E8
      P6 is now end of life and I don't know of a replacement yet. Even if I did I wouldn't be able to tell you until launch day.
      Hope that helps, John

    I'm confused. This channel seems to be official B&O to advertise its products. Which of course is totally fine. But why, then, is the narrator asking for monetary contributions?
    More importantly for the rest of us, we viewers should keep in mind that this video is from someone who has a vested interest in your purchase decision, even though the video may appear to be an unbiased review.
    Lastly, I'd point out that any of you who plan to carry this on hikes or anywhere should be aware of the weight: 637g or 23 ounces (from B&O's website). The weight is reasonable given the sturdiness of the enclosure, the long-lasting internal battery, and probably the build quality of the enclosure and interior components. But for some people, the weight of a portable speaker might be an important factor in their purchase decision.

    • @BangOlufsenManchester
      @BangOlufsenManchester  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hi, I'm John (the chap in the video) this is not official B&O, I'm not endorsed or paid by B&O for these videos. B&O have no input into what I say and don't even see the video before it's launched to the TH-cam public.
      I work in a franchise store, Bang & Olufsen Manchester and I made this channel by myself just to tell B&O lovers about new products along with how to guides and news with the occasional live stream. It's grown bigger than expected over the last 4 years and I've gained a great community that enjoy what I do and often find the information I give helpful.
      Yes I sell Bang & Olufsen products in my store and don't hide that fact but I'm not afraid to say if I'm not keen on something or that I would choose one product over another. Some people here trust what I say so I would be letting them down if I lied about liking something. If I ever left Bang & Olufsen Manchester I would take the channel with me and rename it.
      So basically this endeavour is a hobby of mine and it's totally funded by me or the franchise store that I work for and I put a lot of time into making the videos, often my own spare time as enjoy doing this. People often ask me how they can support me so I created a page on buymeacoffee.
      Sorry of you felt mislead that was not my intention and I hope this clears things up.
      All the best, John.

    I've never heard such a bad speaker for this price. I can't believe everyone's cheap China speaker sounds better! Don't understand people who say he's great, they probably only see B&O and that's it! Aren't you ashamed of putting such a thing on the market?

    • @BangOlufsenManchester
      @BangOlufsenManchester  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Have you actually heard it in real life or is this based on TH-cam 'sound test' ?
      I never said it was amazing, I said I much prefer Beosound A1 and I recommended that instead for the extra £30.
      It's subjective, I don't know what you expect from such a tiny speaker, it can't move much air, also stated in the video.
      For it's intended use case I stand by my statement that it's perfectly pleasant to listen to, I didn't expect it to give out earth shattering bass, I didn't expect a life changing audio experience. It also will last a long time and not fall apart after a few months of outdoor use.
      I personally didn't put it on the market, I work at a franchise store and this channel is my hobby, this is in no way sponsored by Bang & Olufsen HQ.
      It's also the least interesting product in my store, I have not used Explore since I filmed this video. I have much more exciting things to listen to :-)
      Everyone is different and entitled to what they think is good for them. I told you all what I think. If Explore is not for you, don't get one, it's fine.
      All the best and thanks for watching, John
