Hydroxyapatite brittles and discolours the teeth on some people, doesn't it? Why does he recommend it? I thought he would go for organic solutions like bicarbonate, salt, coconut oil etc
It seems contradictory. If acidic drinks and saltine crackers cause demineralization, attack enamel and dentine, you would want to brush your teeth to remove the acid producing bacteria. But youre saying to delay brushing.

So glad I found this! I was 16 when a dentist trained me to assist him in his practice and the year was 1965. He was banned from being a member of the dental society for trying to get keep floride out of the water in Greensboro, NC. He was someone who took care of his health by using food as medicine. He had no sugar at all in his diet. He raised his own beef, vegitables and fruits. He saw 32 patients per average day. He stood the entire day. He did wax ups and casting of gold for fillings and crowns. He made dentures look like the teeth you were born with. We need people like you to show that it can be done if we aspire to it.
Is this dentist you are talking about still in practice? I live next door in High Point, NC and I would love to go to him if he's still in practice! Please reply
OMG!! Finally!! I’m a hygienist of 31 years I’ve been telling people for years to stop mouthwash and teach gentle TB methods… I feel so alone when talking about oral microbiome, I mostly temp these days but rarely has a dentist ever thought about it. I’m so happy to hear this message, maybe it will become more mainstream. Thank you!!
@thrivewithguita9191, If you continue to educate yourself in that field and the dentists you work with are not, it's worth the attempt to educate them, as well as, your patients. If the dentist is not open to being educated on such things, and they belittle your position on them then, maybe you shouldn't work with them. Some medical professionals are egocentric, challenging your working relationship. A chiropractor I worked with as an MT some yrs. ago tried to belittle my certification as a Holistic Health Practitioner, debating the subject of 'medical licensure' vs. 'skill and knowledge'. He lost the argument when I showed him, from his own medical dictionary, that 'licensure' is just a means of allowing one to practice their profession in a particular city/county/state, and nothing to do with his validity as a 'doctor' over my validity as an alternative health provider/educator. He didn't speak to me for a couple of weeks 😱, however, after he 'got over his ego trip' he treated me with respect, as a collegue__I even worked with him for awhile after he ended up in a wheelchair from a serious motorcycle accident. 💖🙌😺
Don't you think the body adjusts to changing and altered microbiome? Maybe like pruning a tree, it stimulates growth? Returning with new vigor? We're overthinking this without trials and research to back it up. Throwing spaghetti at the wall? Trust me, we are not smarter than our bodies.
I'm a victim of years of dental abuse. crowns and fillings I never needed. over crowding due to oversized crowns. etc. And yes, why does dental have a separate health plan than regular health insurance? That's like needing a separate poilcy for your tires on your auto policy.
I have been a victim of dentsts......they have ruined my mouth...sad ,I had no idea that there were dentists lke this...never heard of one in my coutry.
I cannot dis-agree, but how can you know this... once the truth is drilled/filled at that shadow on your x-ray, the evidence (or lack there-of) is gone .. swirling down the sink; so how can you know this means: "how can you prove this (to yourself)"? ... you are not a dentist (am I right?)... how can you know this, your statement is worthwhile - if it is true - in the context of this video (and your claim). I really want to know. Because my circumstances are not that different from your claims (in my opinion). Please tell us what you know about this.
Love Dr. Burhenne. A brilliant man. This episode was outstanding. *You are a talented interviewer.* Asked great questions. Did not interrupt. Recapped to clarify each key point as you went along. Perfectly informative show notes. Very impressed. Just subscribed.
The nursing home The Pines in upstate New York they totally neglected my mom’s dental. My mom entered that home with All her original teeth at 89! She had perfect teeth and took care of them. She was on no prescription drugs. . Because of the neglect which we were not entirely aware of 20:15 her teeth began to deteriorate and the “dentist” they used to make the rounds rarely visited and never followed up when problems began. It was so heartbreaking! The home also served soda every meal. My mom Never touched soda but she began to sip it. I told the staff to stop serving it. They ignored this request so many times The elderly are at great risk of decline in oral health. No one talks about this! Our parents deserve better. Fight for them! Mom began to lose teeth and she was devastated. I wrote that home and the dentist a scathing letter but it was too late. Heartbreaking. I’ll never forgive them for what they did.
Nursing home staff are carers on minimal wages. There are never enough of them as the nursing home will only have the minimum amount of staff allowed, on duty, if that! If a carer calls in sick, it is often not possible to find a replacement and in any case, that unfilled replacement saves the nursing home money, doesn't it? The carers don't have time to look after your loved one's teeth properly, their job is to shower, dress, feed, toilet, change, undress and settle for bed, and yes, that includes tooth care. Most people don't properly look after their own teeth so don't expect nursing home staff to do any better when attending to tooth care of their residents.
I'm so sorry. Most, and here I mean even the very best ones, are normally shortstaffed. Family should never expect dental care to be a priority in a nursing home. Is isn't.
Dental care has to be part of nursing home care what are you talking about?? And Coca Cola was on the tray every meal! I asked them to stop and they did not. They are backwoods and not caring or progressive. The bacteria becomes systemic and infections can lodge elsewhere in the body and destroy the immune system not a priority ?? No dental health or care then no health at all! The elderly don’t require that much care. They are in their rooms reading watching tv and looking forward to family visits. Puhlease it’s their job to do the basics don’t neglect the mouth health and stop serving glucerna and boost drinks full of sugar and soy and junk to fatten them up as they lose weight because they are eating cheap junk institutional food that they push around the plate and don’t eat! No excuses!
Most old folks homes are like tat they give instant coffee, instant tea all the time everyday cuz I remember working part time there before and see what they serve them and the staff are extremely overworked. Best is never to send ur parents there at all! Sure there they will neglect Becuz short staffing and overworked and the ones doing inventory taking or working at the top management should be notified and they have budget problems and only look at the cheapest way possible tat fit their budget to run the old folks home going! It sucks to know tat but it is what it is
I’m 69 and although I’ve had my teeth cleaned twice a year during my entire my choppers are in terrible shape. Boy, have I learned a lot today…..which I will be passing along to my grown children and grandchildren. Thank you
Try brushing with a wonderful nutrient product new on the market called Eucellus. It potentially offers so much help for those suffering with poor oral health.
I'm a dentist and I tape . I also do carnivore diet which due to low carb level improve oral health. I never use tooth paste . I brush and floss. I can smell my mouth is healthy - you can do that when examining small children with optimal health. A special smell that tells me the mouth is fine without even looking. Here in Scandinavia the biological dentist has been taught for decades. So I don't agree with the 8 year he mentions . However diet is not included enough - only the sugar part. It is all about the terrain theory OVER the germ theory. Long live Antoine Béchamp and Weston A Price - an amazing dentist researching diet in Africa.

@thegram9207 I have been Carnivore almost 1 year now. Yesterday my Dentist was amazed at my Teeth health lately. He has never ever complimented me on my teeth. He told me whatever I'm doing keep it up. I know it's my Carnivore diet.
Hope this is helpful ;) Morning Routine: - Wake Up: After removing the tape, start your day with a glass of clean water to hydrate your body. You can also add electrolytes as necessary for remineralization. - Brushing: Use a non-minty, essential oil-free toothpaste, preferably nano-hydroxyapatite-based. After brushing, spit out the toothpaste, but do not rinse your mouth. This pertains to hydroxyapatite-based toothpastes. - Oral Exercise: Engage in oral exercises to promote oral health and maintain jaw muscle strength. Lunchtime Routine: - Xylitol Gum (After Carbs): If you've consumed carbs during lunch, wait at least 30 minutes before using xylitol gum to stabilize pH. Dinner Routine: - Wait 30 Minutes: After dinner, wait at least 30 minutes if you've consumed carbs during dinner. - Chew Xylitol Gum: Following the 30-minute waiting period, chew Xylitol gum. - Flossing: After chewing gum, start your dinner routine by flossing, using a flosser (like a slate flosser) to clean between your teeth thoroughly. - Brushing: After flossing, brush your teeth using an electric toothbrush with nano-hydroxyapatite-based toothpaste. After brushing, spit out the toothpaste, but do not rinse your mouth. - Tongue Scraping: After brushing, scrape your tongue to remove any residue. Bedtime Routine: - Mouth Taping: Tape your mouth closed before sleep to maintain saliva flow and pH stability.
@@ClassicJukeboxBand Well you raise the paradoxical point to Dr. Burhenne's approach. The best part (34:15) I've seen in the video and I've not watched it all is when he discusses doing something as simple as chewing on a stick and having xylitol gum is probably within the realm of optimal provided the individual has healthy saliva. As with most of these scenarios, diet, hygiene, etc. context matters. We don't eat, live, or experience like our ancestors so why should our methods of maintenance or prevention be the same? Other thing I raise usually is our ancestors weren't necessarily living to ripe old ages to experience some these issues. Lot to unpack
The age argument is wrong...we did not die young because of one reason...multiple reasons, including childhood mortality. Our ancestor were A LOT healthier than we are today, along with all animals in nature, and we had zero experts telling us what to eat...@@bre1385
Dentists like MDs are not into preventative care anymore than by the looks of it, general fitness. So this fellow is a nice departure, thank you much. His info is enlightening and alarming.
Even the young docs don'r know. Other dentists are saying the hydroxyapatite toothpaste does not have the research to show it adds back to enamel. I do have it and have used it. The biggest thing that helped me so far in my journey is pH. I rinse with alkaline water and follow ellie phililps program from her book kiss your dentist goodbye.
@@MarenW21 Thanks Kersten. I am seeing results and its like a big epiphany for me to fix the pH and prevent problems is actually easy. The dental products sold to us are mainly adding to the problem. I start drinking my regular strength, fresh brewed, 44 oz.fully ICED TEA, EVERY SINGLE MORNING. Every day of the year. All day long. All of my life. I am in my mid sixties . On my last dental visit, about four years ago... The dentist was SO IMPRESSED with the health of my teeth and gums, that he went and brought in several other techs in the office, just to look in my mouth. I was asked how I care for my teeth. 1. I Do NOT floss, EVER ! 2. I brush twice daily with nothing but baking soda. 3. I always brush my toung a little bit as welll. 4. I never use mouth wash. 5. I am not a mouth breather. 6. I don't drink wine or hard liquor. 7. I never smoke . FYI
Regular BLACK tea? 8. I don't eat sugar or processed foods?? Do you have all of your teeth? I'm only half an hour into this video and thinking about the people in places like Kenya who have a SIMPLE dental regimen, only using a twig to brush their teeth!! And they have the most beautiful natural smiles. It really is about diet, isn't it?
So many elements of healthcare are so frustrating. One day you hear 'do this', the next day you hear to do the opposite. Then you hear eat X, the next day you hear a new study says never eat X. To me, the most frustrating type of healthcare is DENTAL CARE. And this conversation is a great example. I'll leave it at that.
Yeah some said floss your teeth and some said don't floss your teeth. Fluoride good then fluoride bad .I'm on the camp not flossing though as flossing only hurts my gum more and finding affordable hi-quality floss made without nasty chemicals is impossible in 3rd world country. The only think that's the universal truth is fixing your diet away from too much carbs and sweets. Dentists might argue about their differing systems laden with their own biases and hidden agendas, but it's a fact bacteria that rot your teeth thrive from the carbs and sugar you eat.
What the hell are these guys talking about it’s a fascinating new art form How to talk about a subject for half an hour without actually getting to the point or giving some real constructive fundamental advice. I thought at 7.20 the question put would bring out something worth while but it goes straight back to jail Considering the intelligence here I am beginning to realise why nobody’s really willing to breakdown this industry but ok it’s in our armpits I stand corrected.
I learned so much from this interview. Dr Burhenne is filled with so much knowledge and Jesse did an amazing job of guiding the conversation and asking all the pertinent questions. Thanks to both of you!
One extra important thing not mentioned: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which often accompanies sleep apnoea. The acidic reflux will erode teeth characteristically. GERD needs to get sorted for any hope of improving oral health.
Organic raw applecider vinegar with the mother takes care of GERD, acid reflux and heartburn. ACV forces your body to secrete natural digestive enzymes. We are lacking these enzymes from childhood vaccinations. They destroy gut fluora, health starts with the gut. GMO foods.....our body is working overtime using up all digestive enzymes to break down these foods that are one molecule away from being plastic.

Starting the day with 20 minutes of breathing exercises and meditation can help train your body to breath thru the nose naturally and lower your stress levels. It takes a while of practice but meditation reduces stress levels.
I can attest to the significance of a good diet. I was born with a poor set of teeth due to a birth defect, and my mother had a sweet tooth (she had dentures, so it wasn't a concern for HER teeth) and she never encouraged me to brush my teeth. Since as long as I can remember I've suffered with tooth sensitivity and tender bleeding gums and loose teeth till I began Keto for 2 autoimmune conditions. Finally, at age 64 I no longer have these problems. My hygienist remarked how clean my teeth were and how great my gums looked at my checkup a year later. It typically was a blood bath while cleaning, and I'd be exhausted from being tense while she cleaned my teeth. It's been 6 years with zero cavities or any dental concerns, and I must admit I've been less that meticulous with brushing, my teeth just feel so clean. I'll be making improvements to my dental care as a result of this video, thanks.
@@dianadowdy3043 I do a meat heavy Keto or Carnivore way of eating, so NO grains at all, the only fruit is berries occasionally. I only eat one meal a day, no snacks.

Just discovered Dr B, wow, someone who speaks sense and not sponsored to lie as many others do! I used to have LPR (acid reflux) but since I stopped using toothpaste with 'mint' it has reduced significantly, especially at night. I use the Sonicare toothbrush and have for about 4 years, gently glide it over my teeth, no problems with gums or tooth enamel, have learnt not to be heavy handed. The majority of our mental and physical issues arise from what goes into our mouth and how much, hence what he is talking about. Keep up the good work and will keep watching the videos when I have time 🙂
Thanks for the heads up about mint in the tooth paste. I get acid flux also. I will take this advice. (Increasing magnesium also helped me….Barbara O’Neil on TH-cam talks about this)
yes, this happens to me with mint TEA - a property of mint can relax the stomach sphincter leading to acid reflux. (I also get it when eating too much concentrated tomato products, like ketchup or pasta sauce; ginger and garlic)
I'm stunned a third of the way through this video....Not one word about a waterpik? I hate flossing and my waterpik does an excellent job of removing particles from my teeth.
@@mettamorph4523 I suggest anyone using dental floss stop immediately and look "forever chemicals" in dental floss. I don't use floss anymore (only waterpik) and my teeth/gums have never been healthier.
Yes I agree……I brush my teeth and floss…..then use the water pick, and STILL see bits from my gums going down the drain!👍 water pick changed my oral cleanliness
@@susandrouin1243 Yes that's what I see after brushing. And those tiny bits turn into breakdown bacteria that cause decay. Brushing and flossing do not remove all particles, and the expert was remiss in leaving out water pic.
Wow! Didn't know Dr. Mark had been on such a large podcast! He seems like a great guy. Randomly stumbled across his website one day. And he's kind enough to answer emails even
I fixed my mouth with a water flosser. If you're tired of gum recession and plaque buildup, give it a try! Just keep in mind that it takes a little while to adapt your gums to using it on a high setting, especially if you have gum inflammation. But it's totally worth it.
Nowadays dental cleanings are 30 minutes in Florida. All kids get fl2 treatment and dental mouthwashes are pushed. Everything the dentist said is news to my ears except the use of fl2 which I tried to tell my doctor and he told me I was crazy. Fl2 also calcifies are pineal gland which tells all the rest of glands in our body what to do. 😢
Of course your doctor said you're crazy, that's all they do. But why listen to "professionals" about the body YOU lived in for 40, 50, 60 years?? You know better (I hope!)
So informative, thank you! Ordered the FYGG toothpaste and a nano bristle brush, looking forward to implementing an improved oral health care routine! 😁
I was thinking the same, he’ll probably like the xyletol but not so much the mouthwash. Especially the fluoride in both the mouth wash and toothpaste she recommends.
@@uninsurable9028 I think she’s a good starting point however she doesn’t address the diet part as much. I think she might have in a separate video or article but it’s not part of her system that she recommends to use as far as products go and xyletol.
Jesse, maybe get Dr. Ellie on the show. It seems the only commonality between them is xylitol gum. As I'm sure you are aware, she recommends Listerine, ACT with flouride, Colgate tp and to NOT floss. Would love to hear her thoughts on Dr. B's suggestions.

Ugh, I just ordered all of the products suggested by Dr. Ellie Phillips. Should I just throw out the Listerine? She said it is ok as long as you spit it out right away But to increase the time eventually. She does rave about the Xylitol though.
I also cleaned out my mouthwash (found 4 opened bottles) after listening to this. I'm keeping one small bottle in the rare case I get a sore throat that doesn't go away with my usual remedy then I may want to resort to a gargle /w mouthwash. The other 3 bottles I'm testing in the drain that I recently noticed smells a little funky but is not running slow. I put a half a cup in overnight and smells great the next morning. i looked for options to correct grooves after a hygienist very aggressively scraped my teeth with that metal thing they use (i feel like every time i go to the dentist, i leave with problems i didn't have any before going in, literally), and discovered hydroxyapatite and it within maybe a week "healed" the groove on my front tooth. funny, i've asked dentists about this mineral since, and i've gotten very dubious looking expressions and assertions about fluoride. anyway, the toothpaste i found and continue to use (and love) is dr jenn nano hydroxyapatite 10 percent (nice kids' versions too). ingredients seem solid and it tastes great! but, i'd love to try Fig when i get the chance!

You never wear them while eating or drinking anything hot but the mouth is 98F, so it is possible some level of plastic is being broken down in the saliva. 😣 But I want to avoid losing my teeth, which is where I was headed as I continued to damage them.
Am 89 yrs. Have been taping with cloth tape for 2+ yrs. with a vertical strip over center of mouth. I am very sensitive to adhesives however, there is no skin reaction using Cloth Tape.
@@booreed7813I do exactly what you do with taping. i also have the same sensitivity. I have to use gauze and cloth tape for wounds because the adhesive in typical bandaids makes me break out in a rash. I am trying to get my 86 year old mom to tape but she keeps telling me she will suffocate. I can't seem to get her to realize that is not true. She breathes that way when she is awake and does not suffocate. 🤔
I got C-Diff from Clindamycin as I was being treated for a root canal. Now my health is bad. I have Post Infectious IBS. I never had any health problems before the root canal. I finally stopped listening to the experts and had the tooth pulled. A bit too late to save my health though.
I've been dealing with this for 2 years and had no idea why. But around the time this started I had a massive tooth infection and was talked into a root canal. Thank you

Hydroxyapatite brittles and discolours the teeth on some people, doesn't it? Why does he recommend it? I thought he would go for organic solutions like bicarbonate, salt, coconut oil etc
What brand of mouth tape did our ancestors use?

Thank you!!
@thrivewithguita9191,
If you continue to educate yourself in that field and the dentists you work with are not, it's worth the attempt to educate them, as well as, your patients.
💖🙌😺
I love my hygienist! She has helped educate me about saving my teeth so much.
What do you suggest we do, if you are suffering from gum disease for instance? Thanks!
How to do it ma'am?
Don't you think the body adjusts to changing and altered microbiome? Maybe like pruning a tree, it stimulates growth? Returning with new vigor? We're overthinking this without trials and research to back it up. Throwing spaghetti at the wall? Trust me, we are not smarter than our bodies.
I'm a victim of years of dental abuse. crowns and fillings I never needed. over crowding due to oversized crowns. etc. And yes, why does dental have a separate health plan than regular health insurance? That's like needing a separate poilcy for your tires on your auto policy.
Because dentists have lobbyists in congress fighting against it.
I have been a victim of dentsts......they have ruined my mouth...sad ,I had no idea that there were dentists lke this...never heard of one in my coutry.
Ya and they sure bill that insurance, so awful.
We have all been damaged by industrialized health care.

My mom
Never touched soda but she began to sip it.
No excuses!
They should never have given residents sodas since it rots teeth.

Morning Routine:
- Wake Up: After removing the tape, start your day with a glass of clean water to hydrate your body.
Lunchtime Routine:
- Xylitol Gum (After Carbs): If you've consumed carbs during lunch, wait at least 30 minutes before using xylitol gum to stabilize pH.
Dinner Routine:
- Wait 30 Minutes: After dinner, wait at least 30 minutes if you've consumed carbs during dinner.
Bedtime Routine:
- Mouth Taping: Tape your mouth closed before sleep to maintain saliva flow and pH stability.
That seems like a hell of a lot of work...did our ancestors do that, and did they have bad teeth because they didn't?

3. I always brush my toung a little bit as welll.
4. I never use mouth wash.

but beer, now that’s a horse of a different color, eh? 😉
Tea is got so much fluoride from the soil it’s grown in maybe that’s kept your teeth 🦷 strong
Dentists might argue about their differing systems laden with their own biases and hidden agendas, but it's a fact bacteria that rot your teeth thrive from the carbs and sugar you eat.
i hear ya check out Dr ellie philips she seems legit

Just discovered Dr B, wow, someone who speaks sense and not sponsored to lie as many others do!

Watch some of her videos and find out for yourself her thoughts on fluoride. I'm trying her program to get rid of 4 cavities that are really small. Just started and my mouth already feels better.
@@SashaCoCo Dr Ellie does not like fluoride - but still recommends only this kind of toothpaste "Crest fluoride anti-cavity" since it helps stop cavity before they start. I'm using her program - I might switch tooth paste but the other 3 components I will not switch.
This was great and informative. Justhappe ed tto find this podcast today. Could you ple5 let us know where we could find these products. Thank and Happy holidays everyone

at 20:10 you mention brushing with hydroxy based toothpaste. What are you thoughts of using std baking soda and use just enough hydroxy to allow the baking soda particles to coalesce better for a more effective brushing process
@tommygunn77
YES, Yes me too. I'm asking how about using plain Baking Soda ❓❓❓ Did you every get an ANSWER on that ? ?
Swishing with baking soda and water and dentist thought I was doing a fantastic job flossing. I wasn’t flossing. lol.
@@davina5514 nyet....but keeping up with posting on YT plus having a job and family plus any number of other necessary and un necessary distractions can take some time to respond. No hurry. Im better off now. Dont know if baking soda can be too abrasive. Eventually Ill just google the hell out of that to confirm
Just looking at the ingredients in Boca toothpaste there are a lot of essential oils in there. I'm not sure why he's recommended Boca when he said essential oils are bad for the teeth.. did I miss something?
I didnt get there but there is a video on youtube where a dentist a bit older with experience give you a toothpaste recipe.I have threw out my tooth paste. Bought a brand that similar recipe. Baking soda hydrogen peroxide and something else. I can't remember off hand.
Baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and salt is a recipe a Dentist gave me to brush with.@bitokay147
I don’t know but my kids have been using Boka for about 9 months now and my one daughter who has always had negative remarks from the dentist, had her first good remarks from the dentist ever. I can’t tell you how amazing it was to hear the dentist say those two little words, “Looks great.”
Exactly. He also mentioned not to use mint flavored toothpaste, but the most popular Boca toothpaste is mint!
No url allowed in post but on drb website askthedentist he recommends risewell products
Very revealing, I used to brush my teeth with peppermint and backing soda.. it really made my teeth feel clean.. I couldn't fall asleep after using it. I stopped using it. Sleep much better now. Thanks for the info on Essential ouls and mouth health❤
I agree with what he said. I was shocked it took so little force to make the toothbrush led to light up. and after getting used to it it did change the way i brush.
Glad this showed up in my feed, I'm glad i had patience to listen. 👍
I'm glad he took his time to do this FOR US.
Woo hoo! Another good person who can prove we've been lied to!
Thank you so much! This was such amazing and detailed information - really really grateful :)
This is amazing about the Blood Pressure. I'm definitely interested.
In trying this ❤
Correlation is not causation. Most people also eat a crappy diet which causes high blood pressure.
What a fabulous, informative interview!
Oil pulling followed by a salt water rinse works magic
Life changing episode. I am so glad to have stumbled across this podcast. I subscribed and liked it. Going to replace my oral care routine.

Really valuable information. Thank you.
Excellent and fascinating,so much information. Thank you.
21:49 Aloto gum???? What is that?? Does anyone know what he said? Thank you in advance!😊
Xylitol gum
At 43:54 they talk about toothpaste. Thanks for this video!
I use a Sonicare toothbrush but alternate it with an extra soft bristled toothbrush by the GUM brand introduced to me by my dentist that Dr. B mentioned in this video and is easily found online.
I also have an ultra soft gum toothbrush.
Risewell toothpaste is loaded with essential oils, which is what he says we shouldn’t have. So how can he recommend that toothpaste?
This entire video was spellbinding! What helpful questions you asked, Jesse. I learned so much and am very thankful for all of this information. I am aware of and already do a few of these things but a lot of the dental info is priceless to learn about. Thank you both for sharing!
Thank you gentlemen for your time and your research. I found this was an interesting discussion 😊
I've had sensitive teeth for life. Some times less at times. I've been off fluoride for a year. But still comes and goes. I'm a coffee lover and need to slow down and not drink two cups over 5 hours.
I've never been told to brush less aggressively for tooth sensitivity. Thanks
Coffee is acidic. nuff said.
Tea has natural fluoride
I still use ACT rinse, once a dsy, but xylitol helps with saliva and raising pH of mouth..
It did with me..
Many years ago I discovered that fluoride caused sensitive teeth for me. When I would use those "oral" rinses it would return. When I stopped it would go away. (sensitivity)
Try brushing woth Sesame pil n chewing n fennel seeds plus cocnut oil swishing. Heals gums. Reminerkizing teeth utube it. I've been. Taking mineral
Thanks i'll check that out. I'm desperate to keep trying things that could help. I do chew the seeds at indian restauraunts when leaving. @@arlenegarza4353
The detail is spectacular, very helpful.
I have never been said by a dental hygienist that . They just ask if I floss, not really much educational information, I am almost 60! I guess I don't need it? But I am on my way to get a partial. I love all the steps he is giving in this video. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!
You mentioned nano silver, etc., as a danger - is colloidal silver dangerous? Actually, I posted midstream and he addressed it later that colloidal silver is problematic.
What do you think about brushing with organic coconut oil?
DeVORE O/96 spotted in the background. Very nice.
57:11 - A dentist who knows about the importance of vitamin K2! Note that it is the MK-4 form not MK-7 that appears in saliva.
Sonicare electric toothbrush is trademarked and is made by Phillips. I get replacement heads at Costco or any pharmacy. My first one lasted 10 years.
I have four. I have had them for 15 years. Costco or the Phillips factory in town are best places for refills.
I just got one from the dentist 👀👀 but I prefer oral b which I had for years and was easier to use.
A link of tooth brushes and toothpaste to order would be great!!!
Coming soon in the show notes on my website :)

Hello
What is your take on implants
Do you think they are safe for your health?
the doctor has a site with all of his recommendations. just google him.
Great discussion. Very informative.
I’ve never used mouthwash that much. I do oil pulling now with Clove essential oil and coconut oil. Also I’ve been treated for SIBO small intestines bacterial overgrowth and my periodontitis got much much better
Well done conversation with lots of excellent information.
Thanks Jesse for allowing your guests to adequately share their information. Some interviewers just hog up the talk time.
Would have liked to hear his opinion on water flossers.
I recently purchased mouth tapes on Amazon so I’m looking forward to trying them out in the next few days! I’ve always been a mouth breather at night and I feel it’s worsened my dental health over the years
I have ALWAYS wondered why insurance is not inclusive for both Dental and General Practice.
Jesse thanks for clarifying everything , its very helpful!
I hate throwing things out so also thinking I could put it in a spray bottle and should make a great sanitizer for hard surfaces.
I’ve been doing Dr Ellie’s regime for a month now and my tooth sensitivity is dramatically reduced, and the plaque on my teeth seems to be getting less too
@@rgmeadows7712I've tead somewhere that mouthwash was initially invented as a foot bath refreshing product. Maybe try this. I hate waste as well. Greetings😉
would love to hear his opinion of Mewing Exercises (Dr. Mew, UK)
i looked for options to correct grooves after a hygienist very aggressively scraped my teeth with that metal thing they use (i feel like every time i go to the dentist, i leave with problems i didn't have any before going in, literally), and discovered hydroxyapatite and it within maybe a week "healed" the groove on my front tooth. funny, i've asked dentists about this mineral since, and i've gotten very dubious looking expressions and assertions about fluoride. anyway, the toothpaste i found and continue to use (and love) is dr jenn nano hydroxyapatite 10 percent (nice kids' versions too). ingredients seem solid and it tastes great! but, i'd love to try Fig when i get the chance!
Wow I'm so impressed with this Dentist!! So educated , such great teacher! My dentist just fixes things that CONSTANTLY go wrong in my mouth!
Thank you for a great discussion!
Great discussion and interview.
Have you guys heard of Dr. Ellie Phillips? She recommendeds mouthwash. Thoughts on her system. Thanks

So i would be careful with mouth taping. I did it for over a year. I would wake up choking every so often from aspirating. I really dont think its for everyone, especially if you have a troublesome nasal passage. I have a right deviated septum and inflamed turbinates.
If problems breathing thru nose, use mouth taping with those nasal strips to keep your nostrils open.
@@TinaTia-eq2kh I've used nasal strips, I've used mute nasal dilator an other instruments to help and still always have the same results. People who are mouth breathers are mouth breathers for a reason. Some lack normal tongue resting position which is the roof of the mouth, some have physiological reasons why, some have anatomical reasons why. I was prescribed the Homeblock for over a year to try help with opening my nasal passage which made things worse. These is no easy answer for these things sometimes. If taping your mouth was so effective then it would be taking the nation and world by storm. It's not, because it doesn't work for most people who are mouth breathers. I can't really even breath through my nose while I'm awake without difficulty.
Have you seen an ENT surgeon about getting your airway mechanics fixed?@@mmayojr
Thanks for this!
I've learned so much!
I seem to do well with olive oil pulling and cleaning of the gums.
Feels better than coconut oil, which I like and used to use.
I had the most beautiful teeth. I am 60 now and have 5 teeth left. Sadly since pre-teens a Dr. Taulb allegedly routinely "found' cavity on me Drill drill put it on my bill .. I remember my dad saying put it on my bill/ anyways they said in the 70's hard brush side to side after eating scrub scrape scrub then oh soft brush up and down clean your teeth, deep clean 2x a year etc.. fluoride treatment ? really? it's all about degrade ,debase the "human" why? depopulation. Have u been using it? Did u notice any improvements or anything different

“White Birch” it is an amazing tooth paste. Boca is also one of my favorites. Both contains hydroxyapatite.
It amazes me that dentists have no idea how each tooth relates to the meridians in our bodies..root canal is the worse thing you can do…I have always said dentistry is so far behind regarding health..
I teach at a dental hygiene school and try to emphasize meridians
Correlations have been established between root canals and cancer along corresponding meridiens.
Please, can you recommend where I can read about the connection between meridians in the body and teeth?
Thank you.
@@mm6348 Google it!?..you will get a map of correlation of each tooth and pathway of meridian..🫶

Fungus in stool. Changed diet n had to take candida pills get AL this stiff out niw I'm dizzy eyes blurry n ear infection probably from. Surgery tooth pulled. Taking tins prebiotic
Thank you both for such a detailed and informative presentation.
I wish I could ask him his thoughts on Invisalign and retainers.
I had overcrowding and a bad bite that caused me a lot of issues including chips in my teeth. I also grind my teeth now and then at night. (I do tape at night.)
I am glad I am changing my bite and straightening them so I can save them from more damage but I often think about the fact they are made from plastic and I am possibly ingesting microplastics. You never wear them while eating or drinking anything hot but the mouth is 98F, so it is possible some level of plastic is being broken down in the saliva. 😣
But I want to avoid losing my teeth, which is where I was headed as I continued to damage them.
Same here.
What type of tape?
@@Hiwot246 I just use a small 1" piece of fabric surgical tape. You can buy at any pharmacy. I just place in the center of my lips. It does work.
1:26:00 What does the dentist mean by the "insane concentration" of painted on fluoride "goes straight to the brain"? I need more information on this!
Thank you

This is what pisses me off about health insurance and their limited coverage of dental care!!! Infections in teeth is a health hazard.
Exactly it SHOULD BE A PART OF HEALTH INSURANCE. ABSOLUTELY LUDICROUS THAT IT'S NOT. Sorry for all caps.
@@elizabethw.454 No problem, I understand. I pay no attention if someone uses all caps. Means nothing to me.

I sure wish Insurance companies would look at dental health as Medical
I’m piggy-backing off another commenter, but … “it’s like seperate insurance for your car wheels because those are the only part that actually touch the road” 😂
Why? The medical world only knows how to drug or cut you for profit.
