Just what I'm looking for as a homeowner not a contractor. I love the fact that it weighs just over 6 lbs compared to the big brother which is over 9 lbs. Occasional use and not having to run extension cords when used is my reason to purchase. Had a Dewalt cordless but sold when I unloaded my arsenal years ago. Have a Kobalt Drill & Driver kit so the batteries are already here. Now if they would only put it on sale, I'm not paying $129, sorry Lowes, for what I consider a $99 saw. Nice video letting us know the capabilities and boundaries of the saw!

Love all my kobalt tools, just picked up that 8amp hr battery for $100 bucks! They still have it on sale today when I looked. Best bang for the buck in cordless tools. I still do use makita tools as well.

Being a carpenter that has built many homes with very basic corded tools ,I look at what's available now and I wish we had it years ago even if it is so called "second tier " .

I just found your channel yesterday and had come back to it, to get the review on this saw. It's dust port(exhaust pipe!) is of particular interest to me, being that it's So Close To The Action. It's actually a fantastic innovation,(SKIL, and FLEX also use this same position on their new saws.)considering that the saw dust blowing away from your pants, boots, and your personal space in general is highly desirable..😮 I would strongly consider a move to any of the platforms because of this innovation alone.

That 8ah battery is a beast! Maybe a lil too heavy/bulky for this saw but man is it amazing for the cordless miter!

I’m patiently waiting for the new Makita XGT blade left 6 1/2 saw to debut, this is an excellent alternative and hard to ignore.

There’s definitely a few “pro” features on it and some pretty good performance. I would absolutely consider Kobalt if I were to switch lines. With my small fine woodworking side hustle I really don’t have a use for a cordless circ saw, but this one looks like it’d break down a sheet of hardwood plywood without much effort with the bigger battery. I’ll bet it’ll beat the pants off milwaukees bottom of the line 6 1/2” circ saw lol. But that’s a pretty low bar. 😂

it's amazing. I like Dewalt but at the performance and price point, I've debated on buying some for different trades Jon's that I'm now taking on

Seems like a decent pro-sumer saw. Funny that you listed the blade brake among your likes. It was the first thing I noticed in this video, having a considerable lag between the time when you release the trigger and when the brake actually engages to slow the blade down. The brake on my 6.5" DeWalt DCS565B is much more effective in comparison. I do like the dust port being on the opposite side of the cut. Overall, a nice tool to have around.

We have gotten spoiled, though... It wasn't that long ago that corded saws would just coast to a stop after 30-40 seconds, haha.

    • @ccbowers
      @ccbowers 2 ปีที่แล้ว

"Considerable lag?" It is under 1 second. Yes, there are faster brakes, but hardly a considerable lag. And this line is priced for homeowner use. Actually, it is pretty impressive line of tools at the price you can get them during these holiday deals anyways

Wish you would have shown concrete cutting. I use the old gen 24v to cut doggy doors through stucco. It works well enough but keeping my finger on the safety button is difficult sometimes when I’m holding the saw in awkward positions.

Been waiting for Kobalt to come out with a blade left circular saw with a dust port. As I’ve been getting older, I’ve been moving towards tools that I can connect to a vac. Better for the lungs… and back when I got to clean up 😂

I have the old version, a corded worm, but I am tempted to get this one. If they make a metal cut circular saw I would buy two.

the depth adjustment is like a poorman version of the Bosch profactor track ready 7 1/4 circular saw. Not bad, gotta give it to Chervon for trying something new.

Higher performance with the big battery, but not very much becos the voltage is held higher. Yes it drops less, but higher current is the key. Twice as many cells in the battery at about the same voltage means less amperage per cell, so all in all the cells can output a larger current which translates into higher torque at the motorb.

I am a big Kobalt fan. I do not consider their DIY level quality. I think Lowe's strategically wants them to be so, I get it. But I will put mine against any other and hold my own. And my XTR tools are better than almost all other brands I've used. So, I never spend a third or twice what I have to in order to have a Milwaukee or DeWalt tool.

The free tool is a gip. What a con job by lowes. Poor customer service. They act like your not there. Only needed a drill and saw. Then had to buy extra battery. Got the 6amp for the 6.5 circular saw. No dewalt tools in stock. Buy online you won't get ripped off. Buy lumber local. Lowes rating in my book in a 3 out of 10.

If you show up to my jobsite with a ryobi, porter cable, black and decker, kobalt , craftsman and all the other bs brands your fired. Ima make you work for 3 hrs so I don’t have to pay you and you will be working on breaking down pallets that deliver my materials n then I fire you.
I’ve done it to quite a few guys. If your not coming to work with a festool, dewalt flex volt or milwaukee fuel I can already tell your not skilled and worthy.
A tool is apart of you. Your not gonna be a police with a hi point or ruger.
Your not gonna be my mechanic with harbor freight equipment.
Why cheap out on your career

Seek therapy, brother. You need help. You should judge someone by the quality of their work, not the brand of tools they use.
