The REAL Secret to Happiness in Bhutan!
rocking the buc-ees shirt in Bhutan is pure class
😂😂
"His name is dinner?" im dying
That was hilarious 😂 but Bhutanese don’t eat dog and cats😂.
As I was reading this comment I was watching exactly that part of the video lol
Beautiful women, beautiful landscapes and friendly people. I can understand why they don't want their country overrun with tourism and people wanting to move there.
Thaaaaaaaaaat's communism. Have fun with that one.
how can a foreigner become a bhutan citizen & bag himself a beautiful bhutanese wife & get permanent residency & own property? can it be done, or not...
@@wuhaninstituteofvirology trying to figure this out rn
@u1233ma Hey, can you give us an update on your research?
@@wuhaninstituteofvirology this is exactly why they gate keep so hard.
He wasn't a homeless person. He was meditating after self medicating, in othr words taking a snooze after a booze.
😂😂😂
Those people walking down range while that guy was shooting the bow..... Blew my mind. Those guys must never miss their target.
yeah i was really concerned when i saw that
Yeah, that was fucking insane.
@@happilyham6769 im so glad one of the first comments was this, i was high watching that part and looked around like uhhh did those guys possibly almost die 🤣
I was thinking the same. I realized though that the distance those guys were shooting required them to aim at a very high angle. It also seemed like a group of bros that knew each others skill.
@@clutester Idk. I look at it the same as a firearm shooting range, and you would never ever walk down range on a live range, and more importantly, you would never shoot if there was someone on the range. It's just unthinkable.
lol he dropped the 'GF' word as he sensed trouble but then she came with the milk tea.. ooh haha
No, they don't care about white people
What?

The University of Texas at El Paso’s whole campus is inspired from Bhután architecture. The buildings here resemble our buildings. There’s a relationship between our college and their country and we have a lot of Bhutanese students so there’s probably a good amount of people there who lived in El Paso, TX. It’s interesting to see how the country looks and how everyone really is so nice.
English is our second language 😅. We bhutanese within Bhutanese get so conscious about Grammatical errors!!
thus everyone won’t have language barrier ❤
i wish a very wonderful experience in Bhutan 🇧🇹 ❤
It really surprised me that almost everyone was able to speak English
English is almost like a second language, people don’t use it to communicate but we are taught everything in English in schools. So everyone speaks adequate English.
@@Mc.Tokyo12 So is bhutan as nice as it looks in these videos? since the routes are heavilly dictated by the tour guide and he couldn't get outside of the arranged zone, i'm curious if the whole country is this happy and clean looking!
Anywhere you travel sans remote tribes is going to have some english speakers its the worlds language now
@@redphantom2670 happiness I would say is very subjective, people love our kings, mostly happy with the government. But people have started to leave for Australia, Canada, US, and so on, to work odd jobs that have better pay compared to Bhutan. That’s the downside of a developing nation. As for the environment, the places are mostly clean. I’ve heard an Indian comedian say that god had saved all the best screensavers in Bhutan 😂.
@@redphantom2670 also it’s a bummer I know, tourists can’t travel on their own. And I’ve seen many comments comparing it to North Korea, but I for one support it. Japan, korea, Thailand, other Asian countries are filled with tourists, while most are respectful, some aren’t. So yeah
Your energy is different when you're solo. I think you're most entertaining when you're riding a rickety scooter across a third-world country, interacting with locals, and cracking jokes and sarcastic comments.
what? no! Sarah should on all trips, it should be the law of the channel.

Just to answer your question about why television was introduced only in 1999 was because of the fact that we didn't want outside cultural influences to eat our culture which is slowly happening now. Thats why u will encounter many people now not happy as their expectations have multiplied and want more and more. The greed aspect is creeping in our people. The whole idea of GNH is to be content and happy with whatever we have but its failing due to the fact our mindset is changing into believing that the more u have the happier u r which is not true. Anyways, welcome to Bhutan and hope you were treated well. Visit us again!
That's so true ... modern luxuries do not give happiness. It's family and friends and the feeling of belonging to a peaceful society that gives happiness.
Bro you did ethnic cleansing of a 3rd of your population in the 90s before you got TV. Bhutan has issues and they have nothing to do with TV.
In my opinion, you guys are some of the richest people on earth. Peace, clean air, good quality fruits and veggies, quietness . This is what most people are striving to get in their life.
thanks for visiting us. But on the Guide accompanying you everywhere, it's not that you are dictated like in north korea but we try to treat our guests in the best possible ways to care for your safety and your wellbeing. otherwise you have seen the clean Virgin Forests and dwindling roads throuigh mountains and cliffs where you won't be found for days if you fly over those ridges. haha😄😄
Thanks again for giving youtube watchers love sir, stay safe!
Love this channel with Sarah. Love it with you solo. All around brilliant.

She's not looking for a white colonising saviour
Glad I am not the only one that catch on that! She was definitely fixing up her clothes so they fit better
I don’t see enough ppl talking about her, I feel so bad for her situation - being stuck in a place where you know you’ll never be able to truly change your situation unless the government decides to take action :( I hope she’ll be able to go to Australia one day
Love from Bhutan ❤🇧🇹

Bhutan is called the land of thunderbolt ⚡
" His name is Dinner? " 😭
That's hilarious! I'm going to name my next dog Supper.
" Supper come here! Come here Supper! ".I can imagine the looks I get already.
I mean, for your average tourist though it does look really nice. Bhutan has never been on my list of places to travel but from what I saw it looks worth a trip.
Glad you got to witness the Archery there! I have friends that send over compounds to them.
You send "compound". Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure.

That board game at 02:37 is called CARROM. I played it when I visited Sri Lanka. I think it's originally from India.
I watched a bunch of Indians play it on instagram reels, when I saw it in this vid I kinda had my mind blown lol
@sarahmines7579 That's so cool! I played with some guys who compete in tournaments and I couldn't believe my eyes. The precision of their shots is out of this world. So impressive
3:40 and after you can see guys just casually walking down range whilst they fire off arrows!! They must have a lot of trust in each other.
I'll be volunteering in Thimphu in October and November this year. I am very much looking forward to it.

Buthan is in my travel list for sure, the only thing that stops me going is being with a guide most of the time,I get exahusted from People quite easily 😅😅
@ 9:07 Bhutan didn't have TV till 1999.
IIMO it would be better for Bhutam NOT to have TV forever.
Don't get me wrong-I'm a retired electrical engineer and totally into high-tech stuff, but I would love to live in a country without TV and the Internet.
It's actually incredible that nearly all people can speak English in this country.

Ethinic Cleansing in Bhutan
“After a campaign of harassment that escalated in the early 1990s, Bhutanese security forces began expelling people, first making them sign forms renouncing claims to their homes and homeland. “The army took all the people from their houses,” a young refugee told me. “As we left Bhutan, we were forced to sign the document. They snapped our photos. The man told me to smile, to show my teeth. He wanted to show that I was leaving my country willingly, happily, that I was not forced to leave”-Human Rights Watch
“Today, about 108,000 of these stateless Bhutanese are living in seven refugee camps in Nepal. The Bhutanese authorities have not allowed a single refugee to return. In 2006, the US government, seeing an impasse, offered to resettle 60,000 of the Bhutanese refugees. Processing has been slow to start, and the first refugees are not likely to depart until March.” -Human Rights Watch

Your patreon commercial shirt had me LOL
We appreciate your views and suggestions. But its equally important to know that we had to frame these regulations for tourism to preserve our cultural identity and protect our environment. We had to choose what's best for our small and sparsely populated country. We have to maintain these to maintain a stable geopolitical scene
It looks like a very beautiful place. But there is a little bit of a Star Trek Return of the Archons feel.
Who would have thought, that a traditional and homogeneous society, would be happier and more peaceful. Huh, really tickles the almonds...
0:14 you were but irritated trailing by a guide, but now there is a new policy where you can travel alone without a guide. Please don't compare my country to some authoritarian countries. The faces in our country are not under any compulsion to fake happiness.
I don't think he was trying to be rude, that was his situation in the country during his time of visit
"His name is dinner?" 😭😭😭
Happy people of Bhutan are migrating to more happy country - i.e. Australia !
That's subjective, as many people move to Australia for better opportunities in terms of financial stability. While life may be more comfortable in Australia, true happiness is found in Bhutan.
Hardly happier. With the current cost of everything crisis and government's ridiculous policies made by complete unhinged lunatics, people in Australia really struggle daily. The country is slowly turning into a dystopian hellhole.
