- Police checkpoints, a closed border crossing, broken down bike, terrible soviet roads, and few cheeky rain storms to top it all off. This was one of the hardest days of travel ever. But it's still worth it. Cause we're living the dream. Thank you guys so much for coming along and supporting the journey.

Fleeing Ukraine During War (Almost Impossible)
What did you stumble across at that religious based border crossing??
Bro absolutely no clue. No Christian’s allowed apparently 😂
In the end of September, the Hasidic pilgrims from Israel, USA and worldwide visit Uman for their annual religious event on the occasion of the Jewish New Year, at the tomb of a rabbi.
@@romchykk3 There ya have it folks! Mystery solved
@@romchykk3 Sounds like utter b******* and another reason for Jews to put their foot on all the other people in the world
@@romchykk3that's not cool to reject people based on religion especially during a war. That's incredibly xenophobic especially since Christians donate so much money to Jewish causes.
rip to the lil black kitty who lost its fight to the cold
Yeah man stuff like that breaks my heart. I was just thinking how awesome this video was too when that showed up. It's good he didn't cut it out though, keeps things real. Though I personally could have done without seeing that :(
This is probably the most honest travel vlog I have ever seen. Nothing is washed or biased in presentation. What you see is what he sees.
You've never seen Bald and Bankrupt, Harald Baldr, Simon Wilson and Gabriel Traveler
Try Vagrant Holiday or Bald and Bankrupt, those guy are batsh## jackasses
@@dickriggles942They are good too. But this guy has a "less aggressive" and very laid-back way of showing us his journey without putting himself too much in the foreground.
@@dickriggles942 Bald and Bankrupt is a fuckin weirdo
@@dickriggles942 this one is a lot better. More chill than those you mentioned.
Dude it’s so cool how you straight up chill with the locals. You got a likable personality and a good heart. Keep up this content its amazing
How does this only have 179 views? You make great stuff.
Thank u my friend! Share with your friends :)

I agree, this is above average content.
All of his videos are so real and raw. Good stuff!!
He's getting views now
As a ukrainian myself, I hope u come back some time later, maybe when the war is over, to visit some other cities! Awesome vid bro!
If I had the money and Americans were allowed to vacation, I'd visit Kyiv whether Putin was hucking ordinance at y'all or not. Slava, homie!
will take awhile to rebuild those cities
@@omarrichardson7007 In most of them there isnt too much destructuon
Dude I love ure spirit !
I've met some Ukranians in Europe since the war, since they're spread across Europe, and it makes me want to visit Ukraine afterwards. They've all been more than a little bit wild, like in this video, but extremely friendly and outgoing more than other slavic/ex-Soviet countries I've been to.
I’ve watched so many of your videos in the last few days! Thank you for providing some of the best travel vlogs I’ve seen on TH-cam, I love this style. Keep doing your good work ❤ from Canada 🇨🇦
there's nothing cool about being vegan or woke. Just to state some facts.
@@agustinenzoa4447Nobody asked what you think. She was clearly just leaving a nice comment.
Dude, I don't know you....but I'm so happy for you hearing your joy. All the best!
I relate to your struggle, I never want to work a real job again. I spent over 10 years doing something that I absolutely despised. I just can't do it anymore. I'm now pursuing something I love and even though I'm poor, I'm happier than I've ever been. Like an enormous weight has been lifted from my shoulders
"Gestures to GTFO" LOL...your commentary is hilarious. I am a Canadian citizen now but originally from Odessa Ukraine. Really enjoying your videos.
Welcome to Canada 🙌
Your channel deeply inspires me to never leave my couch.
This video touched me.
I'm from the UK and lived in Kyiv from July 2020 until the big war started, when I had to leave. I love Ukraine and its people more than anywhere else in the world, and like you said I also felt at peace there.
I've been back several times since the war started, and weirdly enough, despite bombs falling 700m from me in Kyiv and constant air raid alerts, the feeling of peace I feel there remains❤
Guess it's all propaganda.
that's interesting... do you know why do you have this feeling despite the war? is it Patriot or something else?
Wow I’m from US and the news here makes it seem like no one can enter Ukraine even if they’re from there unless they’re entering to fight in the war
After having met Ukranians who have spread into Europe since after the war, it has made me want to visit Ukraine after. They've all been more than a bit wild like in this video, but very nice. I'm expecting some slavic/ex-Soviet traits to remain, like certain incivilities I've seen in countries that believe themselves to be more "civilized" like Czech, but I actually can't even imagine anyone can act worse than Czechs so I'll be ready for whatever.
>despite bombs falling 700m from me in Kyiv
Are you dumb?
I have been binging your video's. Love the positive and adventurous energy!
It's great to hear someone saying 'This is exactly what I want to do' Spot on man, keep having fun.
Don't know how and why I was so invested till the end 😂You have a cool way of telling your journey 👍🏾👍🏾
Thank You so much for your videos! Especially for your honest opinion about different places, difficulties and people.😍
P.S. another appreciation fpr making it through Ukraine and showing it to the world🙏🏼🕊️
The beginning of the video where you explained how happy you felt although you were physically tired was really beautiful I feel like all humans should seek that in life it is not just about money
You’re gunna inspire people to do similar things I would imagine….
Hearing you speak of the freedom spiritually was awe-some.
Awesome to hear/see someone live their dream. 👍
It can be your dream too just work super hard and save up for a few months and not spend your money on stupid stuff then you can travel a few times a year and staying within budget:)goodluck friend
Dude all your titles are so good, I'm clicking almost all of them. Now I'm subbed. Good stuff man, stay safe out there
Thats amazing that your are able to do what you love. Well done 👍
I had the exact same feelings when I visited Ukraine (Im German). This country is amazing and I hope I can go back soon. Hope the war ends soon! The Ukrainians are amazing people and I don't want them to suffer.
Nice, you drove through Pecherska / Druzhby Narodiv metro station, my home from 2018-2021. I caught a brief glimpse of my apartment building at 2:28, used to shop often at that Novus.
good on you dude, i wish you all the best. just found your channel and subbed
Much love from Costa Rica bro! Love your vids, keep it up!
The sign seen on 13:40 is a towns name, but due to certain letters being taped off it makes the sign say "I love State automobile inspection (basically cops)"

Love watching your videos plus it’s amazing how you learn a little of the languages where ever you go. Keep safe
thank you for your videos and showing my hometown - Kyiv
Extremely Underrated Channel!!! 💯
This reminds me of driving through Florida, minus the cold. I went to college in Orlando and I had a friend who lived in Bonita Springs. It was like a five hour drive and all the way there’s like no infrastructure at all. Barely any gas stations either. Just farms and tons of bugs.
A real travel vlog with a seemingly random dude doing some insane stuff. We need the reality more often here on YT.
Watched all your content backwards from recent till this point, love it as another small brained American, awesome man.
Excellent episode
I used to fill three bottles with almost boiling water. Make sure they're sturdy enough to not open of course....one in each pocket and one larger one in chest pocket. You can ride pretty comfortable for a long while
Please stay safe my friend. ❤
Thank you very much 🙏
I love everything you said in the first few minutes of the video. Really liking the channel. I travel a lot and if you want to do a trip I'm ready when you are!
Wow very lucky you got the patch!

I've been watching a lot of your videos recently as I just found your channel, I'm so inspired by your trusting nature and in your soul I see a truly happy and fulfilled person. it was amazing to hear you say how proud of yourself you are and how you're right where you're meant to be. not many people can say this about their life. I want to be a museum curator so I aspire to travel like you and truly immerse myself. it gives me hope that even though we want different outcomes this life path has fulfillment and purpose. I send my gratitude and good wishes!!
Hey there, I don't know if anyone explained this in the comments already or not, but I am from Ukraine and I think I know what this Uman hotel situation is all about. So you just happened to come to the town of Uman when there is an annual pilgrimage to one of the very respected rabbi among the hassidic jews. He is buried in that town and there are hundreds if not thousands of Hassidic jews coming there at this time of the year every year, even when there's war. There are so many people flooding the town that the police has to make sure its all safe for them and everyone else. That's why there might've been some restrictions, especially at the time of another escalation. So that is one crazy coincidence that you decided to go there exactly when this hassidic event happens =)
😂 freakin' timing... 😅
wrong
Jews were being bussed out of Ukraine to avoid being drafted, not that Zelensky (Jewish) would draft fellow Jews.
Such a “Nazi” country with jew only zones lol
@@leshtricity dude stop it, stop blaming zelensky for the fucking war that putin started.

1:12 yeah I felt the same way. I found the people were calm, down to earth, direct. The country felt more grounded and "authentic" than places I've been in North America and western Europe.
Thats why they brought war there. Cant be having a wholesome society in the nwo

You are sick and brave man. RESPECT
lol siri giving directions while you were explaining bump starting scared the shit out of me
Okay, so the Jew thing may seem weird, I will try to explain it.
Uman is a place of pilgrimage for Hasid Jews. Every year they come during the last days of Septermber/early November to the grave of Reb Nachman of Bratslav to celebrate the beginning of a new year (Rosh HaShanah, Jewish New Year). They came there during Covid, too, although they were adviced by our and Israel government not to. Literally nothing can stop them, not even the war.
During this event, 20 000 of Hasids gather in one small town, around one holy place. As you can imagine, this density of people is perfect for russian missile strike, provocations and chaos. In order to make this event go as smoothly as possible, during Rosh HaShanah of 2022 no one was allowed to enter Uman except for the pilgrims, journalists and locals. Everyone was searched and checked on block posts in order to not let in people with explosives, guns, etc. And possibly to save the non-Jewish civillians from the risk of bombing. The place was very high-risk. That's why they asked if you were Jewish and directed you away from the site.
Basically, the rule was "if you don't Need to be there, don't be there. It is safer for you because you can never know what target russians will choose next."
Pippul
That's pretty cool. I really like it how people even shut down entire roads and cities just for the sake of jews. Totally not indicative of anything
Thank you for the explanation!
Yeah right. So they're safer from a Russian missle strike by discriminating nonjews. If it were the other way around I'm sure it would be just fine. Amirite
That's kind of hilarious, because the reason Russia stated for invading Ukraine was to "de-nazify" the country.
You would think that a country run by Nazis is not a place where 20,000 Jews would come to, no?
I must admit you have some big huevos to travel to Ukraine at that time. I would have had multiple anxiety attacks 😂. Keep on keeping on!
Just jumping into a foreign country without much preparation induces a weird combination of mania and panic. Your adrenaline just floods my brain. I kind of got addicted to that sense when I traveled to places where I didn’t know the language
I completely agree about.feeling very at home and safe in Ukraine. I stayed in Kyiv and Lviv from 2020-2021. Just the year and i LOVED it. I absolutely loved Kyiv. Im from Ireland and i felt safer in Kyiv then Dublin. Ps love your channel, just discovered it today. Hello from Spain, where I am now!

Once the war is over I can recommend going to Odessa and Kherson, to Zhelezyn port. Great places for beach and partying. Glad you enjoyed the culture. For the future if you plan to eat on the road, I recommend ordering soup, more specifically Borsch. If its summer and you're feeling hot, order Akroshka and specify to NOT have kvass. Best of luck on your travels!
not recommend, because there are a lot of mine....(

Seeing this at 18th desember in 2023, its wild to hear him say "reallty grown to like it here, and feel very safe unlike the few other countries he has visited".
And it just instantly put me back, to when it got announced that first night, Ukraine was offically being bombed by Russia. And its such a time chapsul so be able to see these videos, and not only that, but for this dude that legit experienced Ukraine right before it got destroyed. As of now, Ukraine so unsafe, tortured and keep being bombed and tarnished to destructuion.. and my mind goes instantly to this dude, who must have many nice epic and cool memories from here, and currently seeing it being ripped to shreds.
I hope Ukraine gets free from the pain soon, and it can be rebuilt again. Be well all, i wish healthy to all of you
