The First Video From the New Camera - Waterfall and Blue Moon with Nikon P1000

- This is the first zoom test with the Nikon P1000 that my subscribers helped me to acquire in order to be able to cover the hardest volcano tasks we can get due to distance and restrictions. But the camera does way more like zoom into details or far away objects and those are my first zoom tests. I did actually experience lots of beginners problems with the manual settings when shooting the moon so I have still some setting to learn.

Greetings from Iceland. Gylfi
Beautiful. All of it.
Thank you :)
This is breathtaking! I am so glad you managed to get that camera - may you travel and work safely with it for many, many years.
Thank you very much🤗
That Nikon camera will be an asset in your kit bag. Great things will be captured.
Can't wait! Those far away volcanoes can go off now, i'm ready :)
🌛AMAZING!🌜 Looking forward to more!
Very soon!
Lovely vignette. Good equipment plus competent operator = excellent results! 😄
Thanks and welcome 😊
I will be even more impressed when you show us the picture you took of Earth from the Moon.
When the Icelandic moon rocket is ready, I'm getting my self one of them but it looks very nice 😊 th-cam.com/video/dm7URCK1i_g/w-d-xo.html
Hahahaha!!! Good one!
Wow wow wow!
The Nikon P1000 is absolutely incredible and in capable hands such as yours I can look forward to many more such spectacular photos.
So glad the community was able to assist you.
Very beautiful!
😊 welcome
That waterfall - wah! I can see why that guy would want to sit in front of it and just "be there". The close ups of the water pouring over the edges are mesmerizing. And, isn't it something how fast the moon moves when you are zoomed in on it?! Oh, and the music you played while showing the moon made me smile.
One of the few times when the word Awesome has real meaning! Thank you for posting 😊
Glad you liked it 😊
Just amazing. So happy for you. Looking forward to great closeups in the future..
Can't wait! Had problems with the manual settings but the next moon tours will be just perfect :)
What an amazing camera to capture the moon like that. Wow.
Welcome :)
Some absolutely beautiful scenes of that waterfall and the shot of the moon is outstanding! Love to see more videos like this.
Can I ask where that waterfall is?
Thanks
Gav

Thank you! this will be fun :)
Could you hear me gasp at the moon footage all the way from Oregon?! Wow! That is epic! ❤
Absolutely🤗
Incredible!
😊 welcome
Majestic music matches the scenery of Iceland.
Welcome :)
Wow! The moon is just stunning, it is an amazing camera and zoom.
It really is, just starting :)
The more you zoom in, the more troubles you're going to get with atmospheric unrest: air movement blurring the image. This is also the case with the moon (called good or bad 'seeing' in astronomy)
I know, this is tricky and thats why I'm so curious to see how this works here from Iceland, it's a good place for astro photography
That camara is absolutely phenomenal ❤❤❤ WOW😊😊😊 Enjoy it you deserve it.
Thanks so much😊
Oh wow, the image of the Moon is just stunning. Thankyou for sharing it with us :)
My pleasure 😊
BEAUTIFUL! I could stare at that moon all day 🥰🥰
Still need to do the long takes when I have great visibility, way more to come :)
Spectacular!
Thanks and welcome :)
excellent!
😊 welcome
Fantastic. That camera is amazing! Expecting many great videos! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Wow!!
Welcome :)
That camera is nuts it’s the one thing I’ve always wanted to buy purely just for the zoomies
Yes it has a small sensor so it's not as good camera as my good old Nikon D750 but it delivers great videos though. I had big problems with the settings while I shot this, wanted the menu and manual settings to me a bit more like my D750 :) but I will learn this properly some day :)
I always loved playing with a new camera...learning all the things it can or can't do...and you will enjoy this one. The waterfall is stunning...and you certainly captured the effect of the cascading water...and the fun of the group enjoying it. You must have been tickled pink over the blue moon (sorry, I couldn't resist that) video. I can just imagine your excitement...and the "hurry up and wait" for the next volcanic event. Travel safely.🤗
Nice! Looking forward to seeing the magic you and nature produce!
Very soon!
What a zoom! I could see the Indian moon lander still.
We will have lots of fun with this one on the channel :)
Magnificent zoom ....big moon🌚
😊 welcome
Great sound track!
Thanks :)
Wow i am so glad that you got that great Cam !! Absolut Fantastic to Zoom so far in .. great … !!! Wish you all the Best + take allways care of you !!😅
I was at that waterfall on Tuesday afternoon, with a lot more people!
Skógarfoss never fails :)
Congratulations on the new camera. Those Moon shots were amazing.
Thanks so much!
Thank you for creating your channel and for providing all the great videos and information about Iceland.Skógafoss, is so Beautiful and I’m grateful to have seen it in person. Please stay safe as you continue to investigate when the next eruption may occur.
I hope to meet you when I am able to return to Iceland. Takk.
Ég elska ísland. ❤🇮🇸😍
They're a great camera for the price. I've had one for a few years now.
This zoom is just "out of this world"
🤣@@JustIcelandic
Wow!
Welcome :)
It's easy to forget when photographing the moon that it's close to photographing in full sun. Because we only see reflected sunlight.
I'd be interested in finding out how "responsive" this lens is. The last camera I had that was similar to this style of "enclosed" lens was (I think) the Olympus 2500L. After that, I got my first Canon digital Rebel, then on to the semi and pro cameras. I have a Canon 60D now. (Well, two, one with a short lens, one with a long lens)
This camera zoom is impressive, for sure. As I am semi-retired as a photojournalist, the idea of one camera with this much zoom is appealing. I'm just afraid that it, being a motor drive lens, will take "forever" to zoom in and out as I work. But, that moon picture! (Moon pictures are one of my favorite things, but with a 200 mm zoom, not impressive.)
I got the Z50 and haven’t had a chance to test it out fully yet. Too much wildfire smoke here, coming down from Canada. And only one SS card. 😫
I wish you best of luck, we are almost totally free of wildfires here, but I really, really want to move to a mirrorless Z mount Nikon but it's a major deal to sell my D750 body and lenses, but I just had the shutter fixed and I dont want to finish the new one doing time lapses since I will do them way more often now. And I hope you have fun with the Z50...it's a good one...
I use my camera for birding in the Netherlands. I think you could make a good film about whales around your country. And other wildlive. But I also love volcanoes and stuf like that.
I do wildlife on the go but haven't published so much, but will do so later :)
One hell of a zoom :)
Yes it's the real deal :) more soon :)
Wow, nice camera beautiful images. Does it meet your expectations and how will it react with the heat vortex of the magma and fine tune images. We shall see we want you safe and at a distance besides the awesome work you do. 😊
Very nice.❤🐨🇭🇲
Thank you! 😊
Hi there...maybe NASA needs to get themselves a Nikon P1000
👍
Looking forward to when you're using it for an eruption!
I think it will be busy sooner then later
Well, when Katla blows, you're ready! 😎
😎👍
Nice!
Thanks!
👍👍👍
👍 welcome
A P1000 :) Now you can film Katla from the south of France :p
Exactly :)
😁👍😎✌️☕
😎✌ always welcome
😮❤👍
👍 welcome
Ah, the moon is a good test. You have to take the moon manually indeed, it's too much for the automated settings. It looks good, a promise for more great images 👍
Yes the manual settings were dull, need to assign some buttons and such before the nest session, but it's promising :)
Do you get any UFO sightings around the Volcanos?
