What is the point to get this much of zoom if the picture is not clear? I love the last shot anyway. I don’t know how the cat knows he’s being watched from that far!!!
Its pretty clear.. a number of things contribute to the picture not being clear that has nothing to do with the camera. And there are some that do... This is still pretty remarkable considering 10-15 years ago somthing like this would cost half a million bucks
@@HumanBeing... Thanks, although I doubt it measures straight-lines with accuracy. Google map is often even wrong in road measurements !!! But, great zooms anways. Try some Moon-Zooms next!! & may be capturing Google-balloon-satellites!!

Jim, I cant believe you've deleted your videos, get them back on, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, my sense of humor can land me in trouble sometimes. I don't own the music and am certainly not a music composer, all I did was add a few sound effects to compliment my video (birds, sheep, water lapping etc), so you must have ripped the track from my video... just as I do to other peoples videos sometimes. Gutted you deleted your work and I hope you have kept the files to re-upload.
*Here's a couple of suggestions which might greatly improve the image quality of your final results; 1. Don't use automatic exposure setting. Go manual exposure or exposure lock setting in your camera if you can ? 2. Don't use the digital zoom portion of your zooming range. (Digital zoom uses a cropping in on your sensor, and there's only a cell phone sized digital image sensor in the P1000). 3. Look for a strong haze and, or UV filter, or even there's a special filter that deals with the wavy light distortions that all extreme telephoto lenses have. Look for one of those. I'm sorry I don't know what it's called ?)*
@@CanberraUser The lens becomes extremely sensitive to any external handling vibrations of the camera due to the extreme telephoto magnification capabilities of its built in lens. It is best to mount the P1000 to a steady heavy duty camera tripod in order to obtain the best results.
@@CrossChannelFairy it's not that bad in low light either, I got decent footage with uit, this is a 1 inch censor or less, you don't get p1000 for low light

The picture was incredibly clear you could read the number on the back of that boat from across a fairly large bay 5:34 SSR 170520

Mate im a bit jealous, you have some great spots to shoot from. What Tripod are you using?
Manfrotto 290 light, it's portable and light enough for my needs, there are sturdier ones out there, but at a cost.

The 290 light is a good all-rounder tripod, no issues so far.

NikonP1000 - i have the biggest zoom in galaxy - 125 x . Biggest Amateur telescopes - hold my beer - 500 x , obserwatory scientific telescopes - 8000x
at the end of the zoom, the pic isn't sharp. It'll be incredible if you can zoom out far and see sharp images instead of just blur.
