One accessory that I think would do very well, and something I myself would need if I buy a Classic 350 is a bracket that places the seat 2 or 3 inches further back for taller riders. I’m sure that would be very easy to manufacture 👍🏼
Or perhaps a proper dual seat?
@chrisweeks6973 enter the Bullet!
Does the new Bulllet’s single seat work better for you?
A tachometer for this motor is superfluous. I’d much rather have an integrated analogue temperature & oil pressure gauge. I think that’s much more important with an air cooled motor.
The rpm speedometer should be chrome
Yes if it was chrome I would consider it.
Yes chrome would be great , also match up the fonts and needle to the speedometer
@@jimbo9310 @davidbarber5657 Smiths make a nice looking one with a chrome bezel
I agree
What he said 👆 That rev counter looks completely out of place
I'd have already bought one of the Rev Counters if it had a Chrome Bezel
Beautiful upgrades. Love how you guys made the classic solo with the luggage rack.
Excellent upgrades 👍
Good one Derek - thanks again for your advice on the Interceptor mirror recently
I have most of these from Hitchcock and they’re all great. Haven’t installed the 16 tooth yet but the rest are great!
Ride Safe 🙏🏼
These mods are all great and I love the look of this bike. I own a Himalayan and have bought some upgrades from yourselves. The service has always been superb! Thanks.
Next purchase will be a Fuel X Lite.
The last item I bought from you was that rack, easy to fit and a very good finish to it.
I have the fender rack and DNA filter. The tachometer is now on my shopping list 👍
My favorite upgrade is the wide footpegs. They are easy to install and make it much more comfortable.
Thanks for the info 👍
Great looking bike, love the heel and toe lever, l put it on my Bullet 500, never leave home without it.....🙂 the DNA, Fuel X and De Cat pipe are a must for any RE, l can't seem to stop spending money on your website, super fast service....
Great information 👍
The levers are dope
Dope as the West side big b
The rev counter is a brilliant, brilliant idea mate, but why couldn't it have been made to actually match the speedo? The same font, the same 'look', a red needle like the speedo instead of white, etc, and maybe a chrome bezel to match. That black plastic just looks 'wrong', and added on. Maybe it'll sell well, but imagine if you'd made one to look like it was actually made by RE to go with the bike! Boom - top seller, right there.
How about a gear indicator? I'm a new biker and I still forget which gear I'm in. I know you don't always need to know, but I definitely, 100% need a gear indicator more than a rev counter (how often do you actually NEED to know how many revs you're doing anyway?) So how about developing a gear indicator to go in that hole? One that matches the bike and looks like RE designed it themselves to go with the speedo. The Meteor has a gear indicator as standard, so it must be a simple job to wire one in, it's the same gearbox. Do it, fellas!!😃
Or what about just a simple, old fashioned looking analogue clock? Again, to match the speedo obviously.
I bought your heel-toe shifter a couple of weeks ago actually - it's a brilliant bit of kit, so well done on that one. It was very, VERY tight to get onto the splined shaft, mind you. I have the seat springs set too. They look the absolute boll**ks. Nice one.
Very nice work Sir
Quality video from a pro, Hitchcock „ himself“!
Excellente vidéo 👍👍👍👍 et magnifique moto !!!!
Added the air filter upgrade, didn't bother with anymore performance tweaking, as it doesn't need it, also imo, it may change it's engaging character too much. Thanks for the video.
I have a 411 scram... with knobby tyres, dna filter and slip on exhaust... I love it... But i think i want one of these.... with the 10 mods (minus heal toe shifter, and 16 tooth sprocket ) and Knobby tyres... love it ...
I never add mods to my bikes, I strictly maintain bike like the factoy makes them. However, the accessories you show us are pretty reasonable and do not modify the aesthetics of this lovely machine. Love the bronze and chrome color scheme.
Very interesting.
Cam shaft looks an interesting upgrade. Got the dna, rack and heel toe shifter.
Nice video! Will order some of the upgrades, as soon as i have the Classic.
What about a proper classic look adjustable levers?
Those are too modern in my opinion
I have the Meteor and there is no jerkiness at all and I ride in Thailand in up to 40c. I like the decat pipe and will also go for the DNA filter. My number 1 is the screen, number 2 passenger back rest.
I'm never sure what the obsession is with revs and counters, it certainly doesn't suit the style of the classic 🤷🏻♂️
It helps immensely with drivability and economy - which are intertwined. I didn't understand (how could I?) until I had a vehicle with a computer on.
Imagine a brass bezel on the tachometer and if it could be fitted to the Bullet 500.
Adding chapters to this video would be nice. But thanks again for great videos & products.
Has anyone figured a way around the speed governor?
How about a black decat pipe for the Signal 350s?
Hi! Lanky 6'4" lad here. I'd like to see a bracket which would allow you to position the single seat up and back by a couple of inches, for more legroom.
Another possibility might be dropping the footpegs a bit, although this would probably require adapting the brake and gear pedals too.
It would be the easiest thing for RE to have a tall boy option at purchase, a single seat option that gives you an extra few inches. Personally the bike looks amazing minus the pillion, but at 196cm that ain't happening.
Fantastic upgrades. Hopefully you'll make a rev counter to the Meteor ot the super 😊
Thanks for the comment, the rev counter is in development for the other models and we hope to have this available in the coming months👍
@@HitchcocksMotorcycles That's fantastic news! Looking forward for that. Thank you
Great video….can you explain affect of the performance improvements you’ve noticed? Top speed, horsepower, Acceleration, throttle response and so on…..and how Each performance ungraded effected the bike, respectively….thank you
I love the tacho, or the rev counter as you call it. But at 225$ it seems a bit too overpriced than even the ones made by MMB that were a direct fit on older bullets right in the place of the start key. MMB tachos had chrome rim that matched with the design.
Love your products & these videos. Hope your working on belt drive conversion for 650 Twins. The Super Meteor 650 being designed to be a cruiser is crying out for belt drive. Owners manual calls for Clean, Lube, Adjust every 500km/310miles.
Looking at RE 650 owners manual now it says ,lubricate, adjust every 1000km(600miles) & clean every service or earlier which means clean every 1500-2000km.
Also I would check chain for lube every 500km & lube if needed or give light lube every 500km.If riding 500-700km in a day & same again next day or 2 check lube on chain & apply if needed but should be able to do 1000-1500km over a few days then adjust, clean, lube.
Regular checks is the way & if traveling alot & covering long distances carry lube, cleaner tools to adjust chain as needed cause road conditions,
gravel, rain, dirt etc will affect when you clean chain like ride over dirt then it rains later on road etc chain will need cleaning more regularly. Also check chain slack on side stand using a block of wood to get bike nearly level for more accurate reading.Checking chain slack on center stand can be up to 5mm out.
Banditos do a Belt conversion for RE 650 but only has one kit increasing torque but range is less per tank & Belt needs less maintenance.
It should have a belt drive, hydraulic valve adjustment and a kick start.
@@frankmarkovcijr5459 I agree with the belt drive. Lifters & kick start would be nice but they hit the price point so well I would not want to pay for those two.
The upgrade I really want is a taller + longer frame so me and my ridiculously long legs can fit on this brilliant bike....
Hi Derek, fantastic video. Was curious to understand what's wrong with the stock heel and toe lever?
The Classic comes to us in the UK with a toe shifter
I am waiting for big bore kit for reborn by Hitchcocks
There should be a 'Wealth Warning' on these vids Derek!
A very nicely produced, informative cam change video, thank you. With the new cam and a DNA air filter, you might just make it to 20hp at the back wheel?
Hello, thanks for your comments. If you take a look at the link below you can see the dyno graph: accessories.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/accessory-shop/cylinder-head/48439
My 350 with the decat pipe and dna filter was dynojet tested (no performance camshaft) at 16.59 @5.88 rpm so an interesting comparison
Are you making a decat pipes for the hunter ?
Id love to see you guys design a single seat, with a folding passenger seat hidden underneath it. Theres some great examples made in India.
If you could make it work with that rear rack, added bonus!
Can you interchange between the sides of brake and gear lever? Just like it used to be in retro Bullets.
Is that meteor exhaust on reborn? Does it sound good more than reborn's stock?
Have fitted the cam , fuel X pro and DNA cover and filter on my Hunter 350 , recommended !, will you do a tachometer for the Hunter ??
Hello, we have a specific tacho kit coming for the 350 Hunter/Meteor. It uses the same gauge and wiring but will come with different mounting brackets etc.
"Foxy" did a review of the Fuelx lite and he found a 200 degree drop (50%) in the exhaust pipe temperature! That HAS to have positive effects on the wear of the engine.
And yet there are people who wrap their exhaust pipe to make it hotter for the gases to flow faster.
Tacho🤩
I am curious as for if you would upgrade the brakes and the suspension of this bike with, say, some brembo callipers and wilbers forks and rearschocks?
With all the upgrades made to the bike, do you have an idea of the power and torque gains? And is the exhaust lighter than the original one? THANK YOU
My 2 Stadium mirror upgrades arrived today and one side fits and tightens perfectly and the other one it doesn't matter what angle or position it's loose.
Also the nuts to adjust the mirrors I can get them to undo and am not happy with the piss poor quality of the mirors.
start making a turbo kit with stand alone ecu so i can turbo it and tune it by hand on my laptop.
How about a kicker and a belt drive?
I heard rumours of a big bore kit for the J-series engine. Is this something we can expect from Hitchcocks anytime soon?
I'm interested how many of these do or will apply to the bullet 350.
gear indicator for the classic 350?
What difference does the camshaft upgrade make? Does it still maintain the low end torque of the bike or not?
Is it good to use perfomance cam ??
Does Hitchcock have a rev counter for the 2018 classic 500?
Sir I own this bike ….and I’m searching for bar end mirror just like your. Where can I get them ?
👍👍👍
The bezel on the rpm gauge needs to be Crome, before I would buy one for my bike.
Can you tell me where I can get a 16 tooth gearbox sprocket ( part # or supplier ) I am in Canada
Could the Rev counter be made to fit,
If I adapted it to fit,
Would it work for a Royal Enfield Hunter 350
It could maybe go where the Tripper would go on the Hunter?
Cheers
Paul Foster
Hello, we have a specific kit in development for the Meteor/Hunter as it will need different components. We currently have the test unit fitted to our Hunter and it looks great.
When I had my 350 Meteor I changed the sprockets, 16t and 40t and the DNA air filter. Best thing I did to the bike and no problems 2 up.
Now have a 650SM so would be interested in ditching the tripper and fitting a retro taco like on in video, I'm guessing it's the same size bezel?
Having fitted the pannier rails from Hitchcocks will the solo rear rack still fit to the 350 classic using the top shock absorber mount ?
Hello, yes this can be fitted with the pannier rails however you will need a few extra spacers and fittings. If you check out the description of the solo rack it lists what is required.
@@HitchcocksMotorcycles Thank you 🙏
Will the rev counter fit the Meteor as well?
Hello, we have a specific kit in development for the Meteor/Hunter as it will need different components.
Is that a meteor silencer on that classic?
👀 good spot!
I have a Super Meteor 650, my question is, can the tacho be fitted to this bike as well?
Hello, the same tacho with a different fixing kit: accessories.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/53243
The sprocket will reduce the acceleration in the gears to get that slightly lower cruise rpm, so to some extent it negates the pipe/fuel X/and dna performance air filter mods, in my personal opinion it's pointless 😊
Interestingly I went back to stock gearing and found with all these mods mentioned in the film the bike goes a lot better as the mods are improving mid range and top speed is still eletronicly stuck at 70mph 😁👍
Where can i buy that taco~~
What is the price of the bike sir?
Moto manca
Rev counter should be chrome
We listened and have had a special run of chrome rim rev counters manufactured through Daytona: accessories.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/53242
A "performance" cam for a 20 hp. bike? Really? What they really need is a sixth gear, to cruise at a lower r.p.m. at highway speeds. A tach is a nice feature too.
Fit a decent chain standard ones are crap!
ok but all that , 20 miles faster at top speed ???
where's the 450/500 head? c'mon hitchock's, get it sorted, you'll sell a load! nobody cares about the rpm.
Its junk!!! my mate binned it after 10 months fell apart
Too bad they couldn’t fit in a small voltage, digital display on their tachometer. I know it’s not a high performance bike, but it’s good to know how the battery is keeping up. Also, living in sw FL like me, where there’s no real hills for hundreds of miles near sea level, the 16 tooth sprocket would be a worth while upgrade. 🇬🇧🫡🇮🇳
We could have mentioned this in the video, but one of the features of the tacho is voltage display and this can be changed in the settings through the unit.
