Love my core shifter on my NV56. Real nice tight feel to it shifting. I use metric in all my tool sets. 90% of the time a metric on an SAE fastener will get it out no problem. SAE can leave you hanging if it aint the one alot of times.
    Looking forward to the swap.

Great vid. I'm about to pull the 4.3 V6 from my '06 Silverado with manual trans & your vid will be very helpful to let me see where & how many bellhousing bolts. I was gonna try to get the top 2 bolts from above (near the distributor) but your way (coming up from the bottom) with a bunch of extensions might be the best way to go.

No such thing as too much PB blaster. It just helps everything even the smell

Sure is nice to have a service garage. I did my transmission/transfer case in the backyard on ramps on my '97 Blazer. lol.

Hoping i can rig a 2wd auto crossmember to fit on this trans. It's straight, but has the raised center like the hard to find nv3500 xmember

Good video on the issues of swapping a manuel into an auto truck. My project involves upgrading a 89 K1500 auto to a 6.0 NV4500. Should be somewhat similar. How about posting more video on your post swap recommendations?

question for you - my NV3500 is completely unbolted but I can't get the thing off. This is what you were able to do at the 24 minute mark. Any ideas on what to do if the thing is jammed shut against the engine?

Right off rip always double triple check your work make sure everything is removed.
The input shaft could be seized due to lack of grease. If you’ve got supports for the transmission get underneath and try shaking up and down to jar it free I promise you won’t hurt anything lol. But they are fairly light weight transmissions. My next up would be a pry bar of course.
Haven’t ever had any trouble with removing these trannys. Definitely keep me updated👍🏻

@@marcuswoodxxI’m pulling a salvage yard nv3500 in the 20 degree weather tomorrow for a nice price point !
Putting some tools together to take
Question what size are the sockets mostly needed for the entire pull of the trans only just to get the trans down
      2001 2wd Silverado
      I’m aware of the
      15mm for bell housing **
      13mm for starter **
      Trans cross member ?

Why does the nv3500 leak between the trans and the oil pan?

Did you use the steering column from the doner truck or keep the one in your truck and just remove the lever?
