good stuff👍. It seems that Q200 suffers due lack of HDR and GX35 has too big FOV for 2k resolution thus the number plates are hard to read. This kind of FOV should be on 4k camera not on a 2k one
On a dashcam, removing the fisheye distortion of a wide angle lens is about as useful as removing the perspective distortion! The perspective is real, and the fisheye is real. The de-warp filter causes blurring of the corners, and you lose some of the image, which might possibly have been useful evidence, while you gain absolutely nothing. If you want to make nice photos from the video, and pretend that it was not a very wide angle lens, then the de-warp might be good, but you can do that in the photo editor, no point in throwing away potentially useful information from the corners before recording it.
Not a big fan of dewarping personally. I think i removed the part where i said I dont really feel the cameras on our channel are fisheyed. But a lot of cheaper dash cameras on the market are. I can see some people really like this feature. But to me overall great video quality at day and night is important. Which is why the Q200 falls behind. But 4MP and omnivision does not make it a true 2K dash camera😢
4MP is enough for true 16:9 aspect ratio 2K. Not enough for the 5MP 4:3 aspect ratio 2K available on. the Viofo cameras, but most people don't use that.
Which one do you recommend for everyday use? I’m choosing between the Thinkware Q200 vs A229 Plus. I own a 2011 Toyota Camry. Also which has the better app and easier to update firmware etc.?
Hi Ben, I recently got my A229 pro. When we turn on the car the Viofo display shows the wifi ssid and password. Is there a way to stop them from appearing on screen?
can you run 2 vs1 on the same app? Car A and B, each w/their own camera? Same question for other viofo offerings. I'm also torn btwn 1ch and 2ch. love the small form factor of the VS1, but love the A229+ 2ch. 🤔
I would definitely run the A229 Plus all in one chasis personally. Not a fan of the multiple dash camera installations some people like. Too much extra wiring required. you can only access 1 camera at a time.
Hello Mr Specialist, I'm leaning towards the VS1 as I prefer a screenless cam. I can't come across any major negative about this one. Am I missing anything?
We actually do not sell this unit at all. There is a lack of buttons and to do anything with the buttons sometimes you need to push a button multiple times. But lots of people like how small it is and the video wuality
@@SafeDriveSolutions Gotcha. It is banking on voice command mostly I believe, so IDK if that is good or bad. Is there another screenless cam that you like??
@@SafeDriveSolutions thank you for the quick reply Ben... are they good ? I have read that they have 3 year warranty. I'm considering either finevu gx35 or gx1000. I wanted to go with Viofo a229 plus but viofo does not support obd cable installation.

A229 plus in my opinion
Hi Ben,

just turn wifi off and it will not auto populate when dash camera turns on

tons of screen less cams. But this is one of the smallest available. If you like it small the VS1 or garmin mini are ones to look at
Do you sell and install FineVu dashcams too ?
We do not sell FineVu. We have installed a few though.
