This is why Mitch is my favorite speedrunner. He's very humble and is never afraid to encourage other runners to beat his times. Total respect, what a class act, this is what speedrunning is all about!

It's POSSIBLE for it to be beaten, but you HAVE to have deathless statue clip to beat it, so very nearly a perfect run. At this point, its unlikely anybody will put in the effort necessary to get good enough to beat it. Mitch shall be enshrined in the Kaizo hall of fame forever.

Yeah it would take a Long grind for anyone to beat it. Its very possible but I dont see anyone beating it anytime soon. It very well could be have a 10 year reign

17:02 By the way, the second castle could be completed without the frog suit, which can cause a deathless run to be somewhat possible, as the frog suit in the second castle burns the Tanooki suits in the final castle. If the Tanooki suits are unavailable, the level is impossible without cheats. To complete the level without the frog suit, you need to kill the Dry Bones using hammers as well as the Thwomp and mash the up button in the underwater section. It is also possible to skip the star in the second castle as well. As you can see, there are no deaths between Levels 7 and the second castle, and the frog suit in Level 7 burns 2 of the possible hammer suit slots in the castle. Therefore, if the run is deathless, Level 7 must be completed without a frog suit, which is possible but slower. The frog and hammer suits in the final castle will be unavailable if the frog suit is obtained in Level 7. The frog suit can be skipped by a duck jump into the first note block, but the hammer suit is required to pass the spiked tunnel. Therefore, the only humanly possible deathless route is completing Level 7 and the second castle without a frog suit, which saves the hammer and Tanooki suits in the final castle and skip the frog suit. Therefore, you can prove that Kaizo Mario Bros. 3 can be completed without any deaths.
It actually does make sure that you swim faster holding A in the frog suit because A makes you swim... lol
When you have a frog suit you can swim just pressing the arrow buttons. You don't have to press A or B, and then pressing A plus the arrow buttons makes you swim faster.

8:50 - In Mario maker you can crouch jump to not somersault in smb3. Is it just different physics here? And if it is, can you enter a pipe while crouched in SMB 3?

I usually don't like kaizos stuff. But this game I must admit is interesting to watch.
Mitch, why don't you go back to it and break it? Could be a way to draw some attention and maybe get some people in to it.
On a side note, I'm good at Mario, but not that great. This looks like a rom hack that I can actually do, though. The difficulty doesnt look too bad on it.

Only thing against Mario maker is its full of garbage or the same few levels over and over. You'll have the pick a path/troll levels, find the hidden stuff, same nsmb run, or the same kaizo level.
I think mario maker got more people interested in hard mario because it got crazy popular viewership(Since most people did not play that game on the wiiu or 3ds). Then all these players got mm2 to be good but they just ended up playing the same levels over and over(like I mentioned before). Even the kaizo stuff is all similar.
Yes the unique creators stand out by not making the typical cookie cutter kaizo/precision. Yet alot of these creators are already involved in romhacks. So idk if mm1 or mm2 really made kaizo better. If anything it made more generic hacks with indicators and simple shell jumps.

I would be not surprised if mitch uses transparrancy effect trough fotoshop or using 2 cameras at certain setting to let all black parts of both his recorded face and from his game session recording, blend tegother,mmm

Calco2's Kaizo 2 will last forever. Ain't nobody wana optimize a deathless kaizo 2.
Huh. I had assumed Kaizo mods relied on invisible coin blocks in otherwise unremarkable levels, this actually looks fun to play.
Well, mods/hacks are hard to get for some people so there are less competitors.
? Mods are easier to get. They're more accessible.
Mods may be free, but mods require a computer, and connection, and lots of patience. + a Mario game not made by Nintendo is not suitable for some people.
