i completely agree with the legacy UI option, after playing all AOE games for many years I automatically look in the old spots to check my resources and idle vils. Keep up the content mate
The UI does seem a bit chunky 4 me 2 😅 It cover too much of the upper corner of the screen (Especially the number with the age). Hope they give the chance to customize it to be more consistent with AoE3 or AoE2 (For that easy UI recognition when one cycles between the games).
Don't forget a lot of what they are showing now is campaign mode. They often have custom buildings and units that are not available in standard play (but are available as models in the scenario editor). The same goes for the population cap, which might be scenario specific. Also don't forget that the original AoM introduced units having a different hit against the pop cap, where a Fire Giant would take up 5 population and a villager just one - this is not only a balancing mechanic, but also serves to reduce the number of units the engine has to deal with.
I really think Age of Empires games need more buildings 🏠 to make more possibilities for gameplay. It would be nice things like this allowed more buildings to be implemented. They could also try allowing building to transform into new ones. Which would also not take up space on the build 🔨 UI.
Looks cool and all, but ultimately, unlike all of the other DEs, I don't see much incentive to buy the game when it's shipping with *less* content than what we already have. Not only did they not add any civs, but they took one away and seem to be charging separately to add them again. That's gonna be a pass from me until it comes out on sale in a bundle.
Buying Premium Package by a really reasonable price for a game gives you not only Chinese (that has been made from zero, as everyone wanted), but also ONE extra expansion (civ) and more content then ever before on AoM. It's more like de "standard" version is a "cheaper / discounted" option with some restrictions. As I a huge fan of AoM my whole life, I think it's totally fair what they are charging for it.
From what I have heard the chinese were awfully designed and they get a full rework. Be glad that they are coming back on a later date but probably much better designed. I don't see a problem paying for that.
best aoe game ever with the best campaign
hopefully we get more campaigns
The best , Exactly
I like the new UI especially the resources at the top, i've always wanted them there.

Looks good, I'm glad you can zoom out so it doesn't look so big and cartoonish
We need to hear the AoM Retold Soundtrack, the fact that we haven't heard anything yet is troubling....
What's new in retold? I already have extended edition don't see the point!

Looks like the Norse have got a new unique building, just need to moderate how many things are added as it could over complicate the game
FRAGILE HANDLE WITH CARE
It looks nice. I like that people are quite small in comparison to buildings, animals and monsters.
I don't like having drop of buildings
Nice, i'll try this when i can have access to it. Just hope the multiplayer will be good !
Its crazy how badly spoiled by graphics we are. When AoM came out and played it for the first time, I thought it looked spectacular.
When does it come out?
September
Egyptian cultural mythology is my top favorite as is Atlantean
I’m more a fan of Norse and Greek
What's the population limit?
About 240?
just fix graphic no new map , no new update ?
There’s new content and big changes as well as the engine and graphical upgrade
Yeah the UI is something they really need to work on.
Yeah as long as there’s either a UI scale or legacy option then I’ll be happy

And that is why as an xbox player looking forward to this game, game pass is great
