The scene after the Ed.. when Ai was recording herself with both the twins sleeping in her arms, wishing they grow healthy.. that scene twist the knife in my heart😭..
It hurts so much. Even more, when her murder and everything surrounding it must have been really traumatic for them. We can guess they are not going to be healthy and is going to be rough, even more if they really pretend to get themselves involved with the show business that was not healthy for her own mother.
I read the manga, but still teared up near the end of this episode. Props to Doga Kobo for an absolutely stellar production. I’m so glad this story got the adaptation it deserved. ❤
That scene in the manga wasn't that bad in my opinion but with the anime i nearly cried. Mostly because of Rie Takahashi's masterfull performance. The relief you hear in her voice when she said: "ah, i finally said it" nearly broke me up .
My mind was blown by this 90 episode. I was engaged with whole family dynamic and ended with Ai's death and Aqua's revenge in motion. This is already a favorite this year for me.
I was left absolutely speechless with this movie length premiere episode. If I had to name my favorite part, it had to be the moment of Ai’s death with her Star eyes going out. This is already a high top contender for AOTY hands down.
I remember reading the manga for the first time and being so betrayed when Ai died . “What how can Ai die ? She’s the poster girl and on the manga cover “. Aka Is great at making small relationships and then punching you in the feels when you least expect it . I am blown away by this episode. I didn’t have a lot of faith doga kobo but they did a fantastic job. Can’t wait for ending song.
This pilot was superior to many complete series. A lot of time and heart went into this. It's more than a mere production. It's a finely crafted piece of art.
Man , Doga Kobo went nuts with the animation . Also Rie's and the children's VA's voice acting on the *scene* was marvelous . I really hope they keep the quality of first episode throughout the whole series .
I am the same as you, I was in denial while this is happening. I just...can't man. I love Ai's character design and I'd like her to finally get her answers and be genuinely happy.
I extremly love that the trailers only showed this much, many thought this would just be an wholesome story about an idol struggiling in her job, while handling her children, but that end destroyed everything about that. There will be lot of wholesome moments, but since its the showbiz, these are mostly for the camera and then the future dark parts, one which was kinda teased by himself(search for it ;D).
I did not,and I repeat,I did not see this coming…here I was speculating on how would be the life of a mother idol raising her kids only to be met with a punch to the face like that, wtf…I feel so bamboozled...This has gotta be one of the most impactful first episodes I’ve ever watched, kinda unfair since it’s basically a movie but idc, haven’t felt this instantly hooked in a series since AoT episode one.
It happened to me with Rascal Does Not Dream, where I had watched the series, and especially the movie, before reading the novels. "Those" 2 scenes from the movie, when I read it in the novel, still managed to rip my heart out and step on it. Then comes this Oshi no Ko, a manga read in batches as soon as enough chapters gather around to make full volumes. I already knew the veritable feelings bomb they were dropping on us. It still hit. With full strength. Some stories are just written in such way, that no matter if you know what's coming already, you go for seconds. And thirds. Because they just... hit you. Without mercy. Definitely one, if not THE star of this season. Sad pun intended.
This is must watch series. This first episode long one but impact it left was bigger then asteroid. The emotions the VA and animations and story holy shit this soo good and it was just prologue. Showing the behind the curtain of Idol and entertainment life what goes on behind the scenes to make it work and the twist. Then adding that Kaguya type humour and you have something fresh and will remembered and watch/read for times to come.
Interesting fact is that the author didn't orginally intend for Ai to die, but he realized that Ai would get too much attention away from the twins, so he decided to do this plot twist.
Would a 32 year old retired Idol really take that much attention from the twins? It was an incredibly powerful twist and I respect the guts to go through with it (me being a literary analyst over here with blurry vision from my tears lol) but I have to wonder if that concern might have been a little overblowing lol
@@priestesslucy "If there's someone who shines more than her, what would Ai look like to you?" said the Director as he mercilessly cuts Ai's role in two.
This episode did what few other shows did during an entire arc or season. It got me to be emotional. I knew going in that things would get sad but I still fell for it because I wasn’t ready for how sad it would get. I hope Aqua gets his revenge whichever way he decides to do it, I just want that scum bag dad to face retribution for what he caused. 10/10 first episode, already one of my favorites for 2023 as a whole.
Everyone who's anyone in the manga community's known that Oshi no Ko is the new wave. Glad to see Doga Kobo do such a solid job on this project and I hope it gets more people reading the series.
For just a prologue episode, I'm very surprised that there are very few anime studios or anime networks that can actually pull off a start like this rigtht from the get go. I only wish that more studios can do something like this, so that we as the viewer, can actually decide whether or not to continue onwards or, stop it outright and then continue onwards to another anime. Anyways, getting back to today's topic of conversation, what this anime showed all of us was that, regardless if your an actor, comedian, musician, vocalist/idol, there is always that battle between the lighter side of being in this case, an idol, which eventually turned into acting, as well as its darker side of being an idol. Especially the ones that are from the Asian Nation (i.e. Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Philippines, Thai, etc.). Because they are viewed as being placed on the highest pedestal, their standards are being set way too high for very few people to achieve. What really got me was the scene where she was killed by her stalker/fanatic, while trying to protect her children, whom we all know that they are the reborn souls of both the Doctor that was killed by an unknown assailant, and a patient, whom eventually succumbed to her illness at a very young age. What was the icing on the cake, what that for the first time, she felt genuine love. As far as her killer is concerned, he committed suicide, after learning that she still remembered what he did for supporting her, and her performance. But unfortunately, the damage has been done. Although personally, I'd rather that he was caught instead of taking the all too easy way out. I'm really looking forward to watching what is going to happen, now that the main story is about to begin. Especially when your have Ruby, whom is taking the path of an Idol, while the MC Aqua(marine), is taking the path of becoming an actor. We've established that Aqua is going to try and find his killer (father), and take his life. But the question is that is he going to follow through with it? Who knows?? Its truly a beautiful starting point to the series, and I'm really looking forward to its ending. Until then, Enjoy!!
“His” killer or “this” killer because I’m pretty sure it is established that the stalker that killed aqua/doctor is the same one that killed mother/idol It’s just that his “father” is the one he suspects to be the “mastermind” of sorts that pulled the strings and manipulated stalker guy
@@V.U.4sixThanks for the assist. I may have not explained it properly with the death of both the doctor and the idol being murdered by the same individual.
@@richardmyung4592 no problem It’s because of the part about Aqua/Doc finding “his killer” (the father) that is misleading to me Because in terms of a direct killer it’s the stalker, not to mention it’s not just his killer alone but a shared killer between him and mother/idol so I feel like perhaps the better wording might be “their killer” (as in doc/aqua and Ai/idol) And perhaps further into that “their killer’s mastermind/manipulator” perhaps? All in all, I wasn’t sure if it was just a typo or a case of confusing wording
@@V.U.4six Yeah...definitely agree with there there on the premise that the killer is one and the same, now its a matter of who was involved and how the information was obtained and exchanged, while thing were happening as time was progressing onwards.
God I totally get you with the denial bit…like when Doc said he was low key thankful to his killer for being indirectly responsible for his reincarnation I was like…yeah but my guy….he’s still a crazy stalker that was after your favourite idol! Who’s to say he won’t pose a threat to her later on!?? But…I still didn’t expect it to be like this!! My god that was pain
I always felt nope they are not going to do us dirty and kill her in the end, even in the part she was stabbed I still thought ok this is the moment Aqua is going to break his secret by treating her wound with his previous life knowledge. But no they let her die in the end. But then again the last timeskip seems to be a bit weird as why would Aqua wait another 10+ years before starting his revenge plan, by then their biological father is already getting pretty old as well and could have reached the end of his carreer.
Even though I knew that Ai was going to die, the end of this episode still almost made me cry 😢😔 The family dynamic, Aqua and Ruby's siblings relationship... All of these was very wholesome and interesting! But the end, broke all of this, lead us to Aqua's Revenge story and perhaps Ruby's future career as an Idol 😬 I'm very hyped and interested about how the story will go from now on because I have no idea how it will be 🤔 As an Anime only, let's go on the crazy ride of Oshi no Ko' Anime adaption🔥🌟🌌 !!
Im not fan of Idols shows so i was gonna skip it but then i saw you are rewieving this and was like hang on... murder? stalker? thats looks like fun... and i dont regret it... Also after reading comments i understood why it hit with me so nicely.... and yeah MC really reminds me of kaguya in yandere mode 🤤
When you are Aka Akasaka, you earned the right to have a first episode movie length premiere. Even better, this takes place in the love is war universe.
@@gerdanbombales is it the same author or something or just a cameo? Does a cameo actually confirm anything tho? I guess manga is a bigger deal but I know webtoon creators sometimes add cameos of other webtoon characters but it’s usually just for fun Actually, I think there’s a Fairy Tail cameo in Edens Zero S1 but I don’t think it’s supposed to be anything more than a fun cameo because it’s a previous work of EZ’s author
@@V.U.4six Aka Akasaka wrote the story but the mangaka is the mangaka for Kuzu no Honkai. Kaguya was already an adult and is confirmed married to Shirogane and now a photgrapher once worked with Ruby.
i loved going into this first episode half blind, really gave me goosebumps for long while. although i admit first few minutes i really didnt think much of it until that ending wow..
the episode was pretty meta. How during the tv show it talked about how theres the cute character to draw in the audience, and Ai did just that. Now her role is over
I was really pumped for this manga considering hearing how good the manga is and now I don't regret missing this anime at all. It's blew my expectations out of the water and then some. This story is somewhat similar to how Selena the TexMex singer was killed but it's shows that the idol industry are just fake and mass produced products that thrive off the loneliness of people mostly men who buy their products. I personally can't wait to see how the story moves on from the epic prologue that studio Doga Kobo made.
A while back when I heard this is getting an anime I checked out the beginning of the manga to see what all the fuzz was about so I at least vaguely knew what I’d be going into with this show but somehow that entire first bit with the doctor before he reincarnated as a kid made me more emotional than I expected. And that’s only the first 15 minutes (yeah, I actually had to do a double take when I saw I still had an hour left to watch of this). The nurse was a fun one, though. Having said that, I find it incredibly ironic for child Aquamarine to be voiced by Rudeus‘ VA, that just strikes me as intentionally hilarious. Girl‘s gonna be a master at playing reincarnated kids one day xD Alright, we now not only have one but TWO reincarnated babies, and the doctor and patient at that. That’s the good stuff. That scene with Ruby and Aqua both playing god and fooling the producer‘s wife was genuinely one of the funniest shit I’ve seen xD All this stuff about the behind the scenes, the resulting character interactions (especially between Aqua and the director, their dialogue is just next level) and that whole mindset of the industry, I haven’t enjoyed an in-depth look into the showbizz-world as much as this since I’ve read Act-Age (god that was a banger manga). Actually this does remind me somewhat of Act Age in the way Aqua acts having a little similarity to how Kei did in there. This is shaping up to be pretty high on my list for this year if this continues to go on like this. Prolly not at the very top, I have my expectations for that already set (and partly met) but still quite high up. Sign of the times, huh? ^^ Damn. They sure as hell did a great job of making me sympathize with and root for Ai, both as a parent and an idol, her death HIT hard and not only because I didn’t expect it. That was the second most beautiful death scene accompanied by an „I love you“ that I’ve seen in anime, and that’s saying something because the first one comes from the final episode of one of my absolute favorites [to avoid spoilers for that one I’ll not put the name in here but I feel like those who know will know]. Boy I’m so glad that disgusting killer guy offed himself. Speaking of disgusting, some of the social media comments were pretty damn tasteless too. Right at the end there, the producer’s wife 180 turn from the beginning from „why do I have to babysit these annoying kids“ to „I basically already see you as my own kids“ was so heartwarming to see. A shining ray of hope in this dark, dark world. Ya know, if it weren’t for the hook at the end with this being the start of a revenge story (let’s see how that one goes, not particularly a fan of those in a lot of cases) and having to find the father, I would be completely willing to accept what I’ve just seen as a stand-alone dramedy movie about an idol‘s love for her family that is destined to meet a tragic end and give an almost perfect score for it. That way I wouldn’t have to be subjected to all the emotional pain that is most likely waiting for me in the next 10 episodes at all. That end credit scene. I’m crying. It’s midnight, and I’m crying. What the fuck. Definitely need a break after this one.
I'm so glad I mistook people's spoiler thumbnails about the manga for that of another manga.. I really hate when youtubers do that. And the weird thing is, the offending youtuber is super successful and doesn't need to click bait like that. Glad my faves don't do this, or use obscure screenshots that don't spoil anything specific, like yours. That blood could easily be assumed (as I did) to be the MCs prior to being reborn as the series description let's us know. Anywho, thanks for being vague in your thumbnails
Exactly what I was going for. Since the synopsis on livechart talked about stalkers and murder to being reborn I only wanted to use that. I designed the thumbnail to make him look psycho or to be his death only and glad it worked. Every mofo who used her dead in their thumbnail are trash.
@@AHBrandonReviews or it’s the titles for that matter It’s like bruh can you not 😭 Whether it’s thumbnails or titles some people will just blatantly spoil things that only take a glance to see

This was my biggest most anticipated show of the season and it didn't disappoint. I sort of anticipated that stabbing leading to Ai's death with the whole stalker angle the episode started with. I can't wait to see where they take this story from here. We got a look at the dark side of the entertainment industry and it's fascinating from the perspective we got. Everything built on connections and lies is an interesting concept.
I just finished watch the first episode and HOLY CRAP THAT WAS CRAZY!!! I really wanted to watch this show before but wanted to wait till all episodes were out to get hidive.
Bro i almost was about to cry but I keep my tears because I'm pretty sure I'm gonna cry soon or later in the series so 10/10 this anime and one more thing about he AI grow up as a character I love the character development and that ending hits hard its like your favorite anime finish and you need to wait for the next season and you felt into depressed anyway respect nothing less I have to say about this anime❤😢
One of the most shocking and surprising anime I've seen in a while. It completely subverts your expectations and gets you hooked with the plot twists and insight of how cruel and messed up the entertainment industry is and the cons of being an idol.
It is definitely anime of the year material. it was soo unexpected The first episode was amazing they really baited us making it seem Ai is the main character just like you i wonder how the story progresses in the other episodes maybe because i just wanna see Aqua take revenge by killing the father Oshi No Ko is deff one of the anime of the year. It really hit hard like I want to eat your pancreas type shet but this was just even more sad Ai was soo pure and didn't deserve this.I cried my eyes out as well that sudden change as she got stabbed just piano music mad either even more sad the star in her eyes going away and just seeing a corpse made it hit soo hard. Her saying I love you and realising that it wasn't a lie mad me soo depressed but happy at the same time, man bitter sweet things just idk how to describe it Also How the hell did the author went from making wholesome romcom like kaguya sama, then proceeded to make something like this. This guy is built different definitely up there with the greats. The animation and music were superb Hope Ai gets some closure At last I like your thoughts on this and agree with your points like the things about the parasocial person. Frick the Stalker I swear. I liked your thoughts on the idol history about meeting there idols people are eventually put into a false sense of security like they deserve the idol. Man we are really messed up you definitely earned a sub
I just watch the episode and man I didn’t see that plot twist coming. Like I wanted it and expected it to be a wholesome show of a mother with her children. With just some dark undertones to it. But when the mother got stabbed I was on the edge on my seat not knowing if she would survive or not. But I thought it’s just the first episode no show would kill off a lovable main character in the first episode. I mean not even game of throne did that and they are famous for killing off main characters. So just seeing the mother turn died as she was trying to comfort her children. Might me feel sick, like I’m about to throw up that is how effective that scene was for me
Definitely the best episode of this first season adaptation, of the spring season, and perhaps, possibly even of the year. Even when the remaining 10 episodes has yet to be released, but I can say that any of those episode cannot be going to surpass the pilot episode in terms of audience impact, mostly because of how different the tone of this episode is compared to those of those episodes (which are mostly lighthearted with few dark undertones sprinkled somewhere, but not as close as Ai's death when it comes to the depth of the tone, being under drama and supernatural genre after all, but not under the thriller genre or even mystery). Considering the trailer for the second episode adapting Chapters 11-13, this season will be most likely going to end on Chapter 40.
All the promotion, all the trailers, the movie, THE LITERAL MOVIE! ALL FOR THEM. TO DRIVE. THAT KNIFE. TO THE DEEPEST PARTS OF. OUR. HEARTS!!!! I may not be able to make everyone watch it but, I will certainly try.
Hell yeah, I already could not resist telling my oldest sister and her husband about it lol I hope they can get into it They watch some anime like AoT and Haikyu and beyond anime stuff like GoT so I think they’ll be fine with the kind of craziness this show has shown us in its prologue
This season is way more insane than I expected it to be. I wasn’t really super hyped for this, and I hadn’t heard of hells paradise or heavenly delusion until after they started. But to my surprise all 3 of those came out hitting and I’m here for it
Walked into this with just a rough idea of the premise. All I can say is fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck! Although I did appreciate Aqua and his "I can't die yet, I gotta kill a bastard first" outlook.
Oh god now I remember reading this manga it’s been few years, I like plot due to idol being parent and risk of her occupation because stalkers. I didn’t know this will get an animation, can’t wait to see the upcoming episodes
When I saw AH Brandon and chibi upload a video for oshi no ko. It went from watch later to definitely need to check out oshi no ko. I’m a anime only for oshi no ko, so I thought it was going to be a wholesome mother and her children anime. But then there was reincarnation, murder and vengeance. like what the hell is going on in this anime. I’m so confused on how to feel about this anime and that’s a first for me. I’m looking forward to this anime The scene when the mother dies in front of her children with no life in those eyes that hurt my soul.
I don’t know what to say except this is the one this season and I can’t remember the last time an episode one hit this hard across any entertainment media…. Amazing
I'll say Heavenly Delusion hit hard as well but in it's own way from mysteries but this hit hard emotionally...This Season is pontentially gonna be the best anime season of the year...We got lot's of top projects releasing with crazy story & animation to boot...To just cut it short this anime season to me is the first season where every top projects feels original and different from the rest
I've read the manga multiple times and I never got over Ai's death and this episode didnt help at all! I feel like the visual of Ai's dead body will haunt my dreams for the next couple of days...
this ranks up there with i want to eat your pancreas and your lie in april for the emotional rollercoaster as it is. bravo to the whole animation team on this.
Oshi no ko on Anime wise it is quite realistic. Because it shows the dark side of Idol Industry. And how sick the fans can be. I would add this tag as Reincarnation. Not as Isekai because you can’t call it Isekai when only part is Reincarnation not “Reborn to Another World” You know that “stab scene” like I got so many flashbacks on pretty much got a Hololive (Coco and Rushia) Flashbacks. That’s how much it hit me. I thought I’ll never cry on Anime again after Angel Beats but this managed to makes like tears leaked out. Not to the point to crying but as extremely close to crying. This hit much harder than Angel Beats but because I had grown and I have better ability to suppressed my sadness 90% of the time. The fact this Anime/ Manga hit harder than a person got hit by a nuke. This is like you just stand right next to Super Nova Explosion. Because after the anime ended. It took me an hour sitting there and just lost for words.
The first 20 mins I wasn't really sold mostly of not feeling the premise yet. But when the 2nd half hits, the direction and storytelling just went in a direction that I didn't expect and I'm now on board with what's to come soon. It needed that 90 min run time imo and I'm looking forward to what it has in store lol
This was probably the first time in the few years I’ve been in anime that I’ve been a fan of the source material long before the anime announcement came… and it was fun being part of the “trolling” that, based on how they chose to promote the anime, that this was “the most wholesome anime ever!” Ai Hoshino would have been so proud of those lies. This was honestly about as perfect of an adaptation as one can get. I already knew going in that if the studio adapted this correctly it was going to be a serious anime of the year contender. And that’s absolutely what this is going to be.
Very high quality pilot episode, i am not a fan of the Idol stuff, in terms of that they can not get married and have kids etc, i just dont understand this mentality, i think they should be allow to have also normal life, but this episode , besides also very wholesome moments, i think captured the" dark side" of the show business. It was interesting
@@kathycoleman4648 yup! That's what happens to many people in the entertainment industry. We seen this recently with so many deaths of K-pop stars in the past few years.
@@hagahong3327 idol´s are fine, but i dont fully understand/dont agree with the idol´s culture, if it makes sense. This show besided the revenge story, it seems will be exploring also the dark side in entertainment industry
@@knightjj2891 yeah I don't really get ya, do you mean idols as performers or employees are fine, but you don't agree with the business they're in? Anyway, if the anime follows strictly the manga, there will be a lot about entertainment in general, not just idols.
More animes should go the movie length premier route. I started watching not knowing the episode length and got more involved in the story because it kept building.
Damn it, i almost cried a little bit, this anime got me. Forget about AoT's fake death (you knew what i mean), this is the REAL DEAL. An idol story turn out to be a prologue for a revenge idol story, nice twist. I wonder what the story will go from here because i like Ai character a lot. Her too early death left a big void to me so i hope whatever come next can fill that void and make story even better from here because killing a very lovable and prominent character in your first 4-5 episodes is a risky move. Animes this year are insane, so many bomb dropped after another.
I'm a manga reader, have read maybe half of this. This was beautifully made, but since I read the Manga in English and read subs in English in my head it clashes with the Japanese va where my mind doesn't make heads or tails of it being good or not. I really hope they make an English dub of this
So about the whole reincarnation thing, it’s really rather curious I wonder if it will play a bigger role or if it’s just there for a “strange but interesting plot narrative” Because y’know when Doc was still himself we saw a couple of instances of people talking about “being reborn as a celebrity’s child” almost as if it was some sort of famous/trending rumour of sorts? And having binge played Persona 4 Golden recently-ish it reminds of “the midnight channel” because it starts as a weird rumour that people talk about and then of course for the audience and main cast it becomes something more than a rumour And for this story it’s the “reborn as a celebrity’s child” bit There’s also the case of Ai and her children’s eyes. They have “stars” in them. I’m also curious if the eyes are just for aesthetic and symbolism purposes OR if there’s something more to them as well!? I mean Ruby and Aqua have one starry eye each. And as an audience I always think to myself, wouldn’t their eyes be a give-away to their relation to Ai?? Which is why I’m on the fence, it’s just a show/manga BUT STILL
“If you’re alive, some good things are bound to happens” Both reincarnates are going to have conflicts between their desire for self-destructive revenge and chance to lives with their new encounters in life It’s also dive into the backstage of entertainment industry which is well-researched and interesting
So actually the anime doesn't show it but she actually does not remember his name, but she does remember his actions. In the manga, he runs away crying and saying that it is not his name. But yeah it is just too sad.

For just a prologue episode, I'm very surprised that there are very few anime studios or
anime networks that can actually pull off a start like this rigtht from the get go.
I only wish that more studios can do something like this, so that we as the viewer, can actually
decide whether or not to continue onwards or, stop it outright and then continue onwards to
another anime.
Anyways, getting back to today's topic of conversation, what this anime showed all of us was that,
regardless if your an actor, comedian, musician, vocalist/idol, there is always that battle between
the lighter side of being in this case, an idol, which eventually turned into acting, as well as its darker
side of being an idol. Especially the ones that are from the Asian Nation (i.e. Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Philippines, Thai, etc.).
Because they are viewed as being placed on the highest pedestal, their standards are being set way too high for very few people
to achieve.
What really got me was the scene where she was killed by her stalker/fanatic, while trying to protect her children,
whom we all know that they are the reborn souls of both the Doctor that was killed by an unknown assailant,
and a patient, whom eventually succumbed to her illness at a very young age. What was the icing on the cake,
what that for the first time, she felt genuine love. As far as her killer is concerned, he committed suicide, after
learning that she still remembered what he did for supporting her, and her performance. But unfortunately, the
damage has been done. Although personally, I'd rather that he was caught instead of taking the all too easy way out.
I'm really looking forward to watching what is going to happen, now that the main story is about to begin.
Especially when your have Ruby, whom is taking the path of an Idol, while the MC Aqua(marine), is taking the
path of becoming an actor. We've established that Aqua is going to try and find his killer (father), and take his
life. But the question is that is he going to follow through with it?
Who knows??
Its truly a beautiful starting point to the series, and I'm really looking forward to its ending.
Until then,
Enjoy!!
“His” killer or “this” killer because I’m pretty sure it is established that the stalker that killed aqua/doctor is the same one that killed mother/idol
It’s just that his “father” is the one he suspects to be the “mastermind” of sorts that pulled the strings and manipulated stalker guy
@@V.U.4sixThanks for the assist. I may have not explained it properly with the death of both the doctor and the idol being murdered by the same individual.
@@richardmyung4592 no problem
It’s because of the part about Aqua/Doc finding “his killer” (the father) that is misleading to me
Because in terms of a direct killer it’s the stalker, not to mention it’s not just his killer alone but a shared killer between him and mother/idol so I feel like perhaps the better wording might be “their killer” (as in doc/aqua and Ai/idol)
And perhaps further into that “their killer’s mastermind/manipulator” perhaps?
All in all, I wasn’t sure if it was just a typo or a case of confusing wording
@@V.U.4six Yeah...definitely agree with there there on the premise that the killer is one and the same, now its a matter of who was involved and how the information was obtained and exchanged, while thing were happening as time was progressing onwards.
@@V.U.4six Yup! That's what I suspect! The Internet can do that to people.
i do love that it tackles the dark side of the Idol culture that normaly isnt portryed in anime/manga
Hands down the best anime about Idols and the Entertainment Industry since Perfect Blue.
I did see the death coming. But it was done masterfully. The way the eyes dulled……man.😢
Great first episode. Can’t wait to see where this goes.
Even though I knew that Ai was going to die, the end of this episode still almost made me cry 😢😔
The family dynamic, Aqua and Ruby's siblings relationship... All of these was very wholesome and interesting!
But the end, broke all of this, lead us to Aqua's Revenge story and perhaps Ruby's future career as an Idol 😬
I'm very hyped and interested about how the story will go from now on because I have no idea how it will be 🤔
As an Anime only, let's go on the crazy ride of Oshi no Ko' Anime adaption🔥🌟🌌 !!
The whole production of this 1st episode is just *chef's kiss
And I just got dust in my eyes I swear.
I have read the manga and the entire episode, I had a BIGASS grin in my face because this was a perfect adaptation .
Wait what
@@V.U.4six Yep Kaguya indeed had a cameo in the manga
@@gerdanbombales is it the same author or something or just a cameo?
Does a cameo actually confirm anything tho? I guess manga is a bigger deal but I know webtoon creators sometimes add cameos of other webtoon characters but it’s usually just for fun
Actually, I think there’s a Fairy Tail cameo in Edens Zero S1 but I don’t think it’s supposed to be anything more than a fun cameo because it’s a previous work of EZ’s author
@@V.U.4six Aka Akasaka wrote the story but the mangaka is the mangaka for Kuzu no Honkai. Kaguya was already an adult and is confirmed married to Shirogane and now a photgrapher once worked with Ruby.
@@gerdanbombales huh, interesting 🤔
I didn’t read the synopsis so I didn’t know anything and I’m glad I didn’t cos this was phenomenal. Anyway I’m gonna go cry myself to sleep 😭.
i loved going into this first episode half blind, really gave me goosebumps for long while. although i admit first few minutes i really didnt think much of it until that ending wow..
the episode was pretty meta.
I just finished watching it. It was very good can't wait for more had me almost crying
Girl‘s gonna be a master at playing reincarnated kids one day xD
Alright, we now not only have one but TWO reincarnated babies, and the doctor and patient at that. That’s the good stuff.
That scene with Ruby and Aqua both playing god and fooling the producer‘s wife was genuinely one of the funniest shit I’ve seen xD
All this stuff about the behind the scenes, the resulting character interactions (especially between Aqua and the director, their dialogue is just next level) and that whole mindset of the industry, I haven’t enjoyed an in-depth look into the showbizz-world as much as this since I’ve read Act-Age (god that was a banger manga). ^^
Damn.
Where do you watch Oshi no Ko?
@@AHBrandonReviews or it’s the titles for that matter
It’s like bruh can you not 😭
Whether it’s thumbnails or titles some people will just blatantly spoil things that only take a glance to see
@V. U. about once a month ill get some clown claim I spoiled them and I'm always so dumbfounded. Like bruh I avoid more than most and I don't give away more than a synopsis. It's on you if you extra pay attention and figure out more than a quick glance will
@@AHBrandonReviews yeah on the opposite hand of the spectrum people think every little thing is “a spoiler”
it drives me up the f-ing wall. like if my content is considered a spoiler for you then stay off the internet. ill avoid as much as I can but if someone complains they zoomed in on a blurred image and got spoiled it truly is a them issue.
my heart was not ready for that mannnn
So much roller coaster of emotions in this episode, I'm keeping my eye on this
This was my biggest most anticipated show of the season and it didn't disappoint.
I just finished it an hour ago very few shows if any have made me cry and feel this way its amazing
I just finished watch the first episode and HOLY CRAP THAT WAS CRAZY!!! I really wanted to watch this show before but wanted to wait till all episodes were out to get hidive.
I wasnt gonna watch it, but i watched it on a whim
but like HOLY CRAP that was amazing. I am completely hooked
I went in blind. So happy I did. Can’t recall a first episode as moving as this one.
this is gonna be sooo peak cant wait
Bro i almost was about to cry but I keep my tears because I'm pretty sure I'm gonna cry soon or later in the series so 10/10 this anime and one more thing about he AI grow up as a character I love the character development and that ending hits hard its like your favorite anime finish and you need to wait for the next season and you felt into depressed anyway respect nothing less I have to say about this anime❤😢
Bro I thought this was mid anime but the ending made me rethink that
Bro my fav part when aqua found out someone was feeding info to the guy
This show is gonna be a ride
One of the most shocking and surprising anime I've seen in a while. It completely subverts your expectations and gets you hooked with the plot twists and insight of how cruel and messed up the entertainment industry is and the cons of being an idol.
I have never been more happy than when I looked and saw it was 1 hour and 21 min of full on nostalgia and tears near the end.
I have re listened to the music ‘Idol’ repeatedly for an entire d’eau and it won’t stop.
It is definitely anime of the year material. it was soo unexpected The first episode was amazing they really baited us making it seem Ai is the main character just like you i wonder how the story progresses in the other episodes maybe because i just wanna see Aqua take revenge by killing the father
Oshi No Ko is deff one of the anime of the year. Her saying I love you and realising that it wasn't a lie mad me soo depressed but happy at the same time, man bitter sweet things just idk how to describe it
Also How the hell did the author went from making wholesome romcom like kaguya sama, then proceeded to make something like this. This guy is built different definitely up there with the greats.
The animation and music were superb
Hope Ai gets some closure
At last I like your thoughts on this and agree with your points like the things about the parasocial person.
Might me feel sick, like I’m about to throw up that is how effective that scene was for me
Truly a crazy start.
Best 1st anime episode ever
Indeed! Certainly a strong contender for vest anime opening episode of the year.
Hell yeah, I already could not resist telling my oldest sister and her husband about it lol
I hope they can get into it
They watch some anime like AoT and Haikyu and beyond anime stuff like GoT so I think they’ll be fine with the kind of craziness this show has shown us in its prologue
2 anime of the year candidates for 2023 this year for anime is fire
Never cried to a piece of media before. I was bawling, man.
eyes are the windows of the soul. Her eyes went blank when she her left her.
It made me cry I really didn’t want her to die the cut seems before she died really caught me off guard
I’m looking forward to this anime
The scene when the mother dies in front of her children with no life in those eyes that hurt my soul.
The feeling with Oshi no ko hurt me a lot, it made me want to cry but made me want to puke with a heavy heart. The twist was so heavy on me.
THIS SEASON OF ANIME IS THE ANIME SEASON OF THE YEAR HANDS DOWN
Perfect first episode
The story is magnificent
They really know how to hit you where it hurts damn
this ranks up there with i want to eat your pancreas and your lie in april for the emotional rollercoaster as it is. bravo to the whole animation team on this.
Man I figured that I at least had a few more weeks to at least attempt to emotionally prepare myself.
Oshi no ko on Anime wise it is quite realistic. Because it shows the dark side of Idol Industry. And how sick the fans can be. I would add this tag as Reincarnation. Not as Isekai because you can’t call it Isekai when only part is Reincarnation not “Reborn to Another World”
You know that “stab scene” like I got so many flashbacks on pretty much got a Hololive (Coco and Rushia) Flashbacks. It took me an hour sitting there and just lost for words.
that was a whole movie
As a manga reader, I am BEYOND happy with this
Where can I watch it???
Where can I watch it ? Can someone send the link
Yes. We witnessed the death of Ai's body. Her soul died the moment she became an idol. She resigned herself to no longer being human. That's scary.
if you don't like idol stuffs, Oshi no Ko is perfect because it's anti-idol/anti-entertainment.
I literally had not cried at an anime SO HARD since I saw the Mugen Train movie. It was SO devastating since you got to know them so well.
I'm glad I pushed through the babies talking like adults, just a me thing. I really cared by the end and am looking forward to more.
I'm a manga reader, have read maybe half of this. This was beautifully made, but since I read the Manga in English and read subs in English in my head it clashes with the Japanese va where my mind doesn't make heads or tails of it being good or not. I really hope they make an English dub of this
Good lord, I had to just sit there in silence for a good couple minutes after that
I was not expecting this… what have I got myself into
As if I wasn't depressed already
Best mom AI died I wasn't expecting that to happen I can't wait for are main character to find his father
I was worried that I'd get isekai'd by the emotional damage of this episode.
So about the whole reincarnation thing, it’s really rather curious
I wonder if it will play a bigger role or if it’s just there for a “strange but interesting plot narrative”
Because y’know when Doc was still himself we saw a couple of instances of people talking about “being reborn as a celebrity’s child” almost as if it was some sort of famous/trending rumour of sorts? And having binge played Persona 4 Golden recently-ish it reminds of “the midnight channel” because it starts as a weird rumour that people talk about and then of course for the audience and main cast it becomes something more than a rumour
And for this story it’s the “reborn as a celebrity’s child” bit
There’s also the case of Ai and her children’s eyes. Which is why I’m on the fence, it’s just a show/manga BUT STILL
About the eyes, they really are just an aesthetic thing. The stars are something only the viewers see. It’s pretty evident in the prologue itself.
Can you sho me the cartoon app ❤❤
So if I were to keep going with this is it going to be nothing but straight tragedy after tragedy? Because i don't think I can take it.
Have you watched to your eternity? Because that’s another great series albeit full of pain
“If you’re alive, some good things are bound to happens”
Both reincarnates are going to have conflicts between their desire for self-destructive revenge and chance to lives with their new encounters in life
It’s also dive into the backstage of entertainment industry which is well-researched and interesting
What are your predictions for the English Dub cast?
This ending made me think of a real singer killed by her fan "Selena"
So actually the anime doesn't show it but she actually does not remember his name, but she does remember his actions. In the manga, he runs away crying and saying that it is not his name. But yeah it is just too sad.
Yeah this series makes ask a lot of moral questions
