I learnt an amazing hack I learnt from my grand mother when tempature gages weren’t thought of or made back then, I’d love to share with you how to test readiness of oil by using a wooden tooth pick dipping into the oil as the heating processes has started soon as little bubbles release around the tooth pick it shows the readiness of your oil, what they call a medium rolling boil is perfect so each time you dip the tooth pick if not alota bubbles it’s not quite to frying temp but if rapid bubbles are forming turn down your element, meaning to high and you will burn your food by it cooking to rapidly and if bubbles are nicely bubbling it’s the perfect temperature to begin your frying, Hope this takes the guessing game out of oil temp readiness with out using a thermometer. Love the video this will be my first time making these thankyou love from 🇨🇦

Oh, my gosh! I just made these with some pulled pork my hubby did on the smoker yesterday. AMAZING! He said these are the best taquitos he has ever had. Thank you so much! I can't wait to do more. I made 10, cooked 4 right away to try, saved 6 for dinner, and have 20 in the freezer. Thank you so much! I will be skimming your videos for more great recipes.

I have always done it the way you show here. I recently tried using a large cookie sheet and brushing oil on both sides of the tortillas and overlapping them a bit on the sheet and putting them in a 400 degree over for 10 - 15 mins
    It works

I bumped onto your channel not too long ago and love how detail you are and why you do what you do, very educational. I've done floutas as per friends with the toothpick, this seems a lot easier and really no waste, I've had my corn tortillas crack on me but heating them up in a coat of oil of some sort, softens them. Thanks so much!

Looks and sounds great! I've also found that for those of us who do not like to fry, for whatever reason, there is a baked option. Fixed and treated just the same (except we always add cheeses and peppers to the filling), then on an oiled sheet pan into a well preheated 425 oven for 15-20 minutes. Are they as good as fried? Nope. But they are still really, really good. And if you are lucky enough to have a Mexican Market nearby, fresh corn tortillas make an incredible improvement. Cheers all! And thank you M
