    I love how you mentioned increased risk for eye infections. I think as eye doctors we talk alot about comfort and blurred vision but we often don't talk about the increased risk for infections. 👍

    I wear glasses primarily for reading text that is blurry but usr them all the time. Can dry eyes or anything cause subtle vision issues? The best way I can describe it is seeing small objects suddenly appear, like small specks of dirt or burnt toast, and quick shadows, as if a bug is scurrying across, but there's no actual movement. It's like if The Matrix file did not load fully or suddenly loaded-lol, that's the best way I can describe it.

      That's an awesome description. :) Dry eyes can cause some vision issues... I go over a few of them in this video if you want to check it out: th-cam.com/video/PDRNgvyeIJE/w-d-xo.html
      Have you been to your eye doctor? That would be the best to make sure you can find out what is going on.

    I recently discovered and subbed to your channel in hopes of discovering what I have had going on for many years with no answers from local Dr's. Only my left eye from time to time, sometimes I will go months with no problems at all, but some days roughly an hour after waking up it begins to feel like a Boulder is in my eye, light, wind, even colder temps will irritate it more. I will literally cry from one eye for normally only a few hours then it goes away. It effects my vision only from the amount of tears being produced, I have excellent vision otherwise actually reading the small print date on the bottom of the eye chart last exam. I've been told this is a dry eye situation, was given a gel that made no difference. I haven't been able to correlate any habits or actions to influence when or how severe this is. I've had many people look for something in my eye even useing the microscope app on phones with nothing found. I understand to diagnose anything from a comment is virtually impossible and I don't expect one, but if at all possible just an idea of what this may be would be extremely helpful. Thank you so much for "opening my eyes" to all the amazing and scary things our eyes can do.

      I kind of sounds like a Recurrent Corneal Erosion. Have had a doctor look at it early in the morning while it was still hurting by chance?

    • @dd-jf1lh
      @dd-jf1lh 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @DrEyeGuy I have, two times and both times they said they could not see anything. I can't remember the name of the thing where you think something is in your eye but there really is nothing. I was starting to think I might have that but I'm pretty positive that's not it because yes I'm kinda crazy but my eyes are not part of that crazy lol. One dr did say he could see a tiny scratch, one that normally wouldn't bother a person. But I do have rediculiously sensitive eyes, like I can't even watch someone else put contacts in without tearing up. I'm super careful to get nothing in my eyes I wear safety glasses and or a complete face shield whenever the slightest chance of something is present. Is there any type of prevention against this erosion if that what it is? Because there have been times I couldnt drive or work because I feel it's not safe if I can't see.

    What about the possibility of having skin tags or similar that are caused by high blood sugar??

    • @LauraB.335
      @LauraB.335 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, dry eyes, and many eye diseases (most, if not all, chronic disease in fact) are caused or made worse by poor metabolic health or insulin resistance, which then leads to inflammation and high glucose. Reverse the high glucose/insulin, and in many cases, symptoms totally reverse (or get better). For me, my dry eyes went away completely when I stopped eating as many carbs and processed food, and I don’t even have high blood glucose. Also, my skin tags are starting to shrivel up.

    I have horrible dry eyes and floaters and have had them for a few years, mostly only in the morning after waking. I use TheraTears each morning. About 5 months ago, my right eye developed a couple of grayish smudges in my vision, along with a few larger floaters. I'm not sure if it's a Weiss Ring or not. With the smudges, if I look at someone's face with only my right eye, it appears as if there are light gray areas on a couple of spots on their face. Black borders seem to smudge as well. On a black background with white text, it seems as if the text is slightly flickering here and there. I do not have the money for an eye doctor yet. Could this be caused by my horrible dry eyes in the mornings, creating dry patches on my cornea? I hear that is possible.

    Is having permanent red veins considered damage, doc ?
    I have severe dry eyes and the red vessels don’t go away.😢 They do look pretty good( less noticeable, slightly pink )in the morning. But they’re red and look horrible later of the day no matter how often I use PF eye drops. 😢
    I have punctal plugs. Last week I visited my optometrist and she said yes they’re still dry but they look fine , just continue what I do : eyes drops, ointment, warm compress, Omega 3 .

      When you say both of your "lenses"... are you talking about glasses/contact lenses, or are you talking about part of your eye, like the cornea or the crystalline lens in the eye? Have you had your eyes checked by your eye doctor yet? That would be the first step.

    I started having dry eyes during the pandemic and i dont know why but i started seeing my right side of my nose(like it looks little bit bent to right side) when reading or looking down like it interrupts my vision.I also feel i have more dryness in my right eye so is this two connected in some way.

    I blink often because of irritation, usually associated with burning sensation, feeling of eye strain, inability to focus on an object and gradually i get a white soapy bubbles around the edge of the eyes which causes the irritation more. After washing my face, the irritation goes away. But irritation will be back after sometime again. When i roll my eye towards left or right, i see layering of the outermost part of eye, like folding. I don't have vision problem. Please help...

      Sorry to hear this! I believe there has been research done that shows a connection to elevated eye pressure and severe head injuries. I would need to look more into this. Concussions is becoming a bigger and bigger field to study in the eye world because we are finding it can affect the eyes in many ways. Best thing is to get an eye exam and express your worries to your eye doc so they can monitor for any changes.
