My severe dry eyes got better after changing diet to low carbs in about three months. Quit sugar, processed foods and refined carbohydrates. No longer pre diabetic.
Two things that helped so much right away are using the Horus X ® • Gaming Glasses • Blue Light Blocking Computer Screen Glasses | Anti Fatigue & Eyestrain | ONE Amber And Biotrue Hydration Boost PF Bottle: i do one drop each eye 2x a day and make sure to blink plenty and always keep my blue light filter glasses on all recommended by the Dr Eye Guy in this video thank you
In future videos, can you cover the neuropathic part of dry eyes, in which you don t really have dry eyes, but you costantly feel them burning and feel them like they are dry when they arent?
Great, promising information, I haven’t been able to get much relief from my dry eye or mites, not sure, my doctor seems to think everything looks good & doesn’t offer anything new at this time?
Thanks for the update! So glad that there is so much research going on. Is there any new treatment/ medication for the complete loss of Meibomian glands (no inflammation involved)? Would that be the "Meibo" eyedrops?
Meibo is great to supplement the lipid layer of tears. As far as treatment to repair or regrow the Meibomian glands.... nothing concrete yet. Some reports of IPL working on some people. There are also treatments in the pipeline that have claims around that. So hopefully, in the near future. 🤞
🎉 Thank you for the informative video. As always. I agree with you, this video will be obsolete by next year. The changes that have come about since 2021, since I have been suffering are life-changing.
Thank you so much for your videos. I am using the autologous serum and it has been a game changer for me. :) I find it very frustrating that insurance companies, including medicare, don't recognize dry eyes as a coverable issue.
Thanks for all you do.. this can be a debilitating condition with so many possible causes and treatments. I am going to try IPL.. do you have recommendations for the optimal settings of the machine? So many MD’s are behind the OD’s in their dry eye knowledge.
Great video, as always :) I'm trying a lot but I still have persistent problems with "blurry vision" in my right eye. Even though I put drops in the eye it can't get "sharp" anymore. Do you have an idea what might be the issue here? Could the be microscopic damage? How can this be diagnosed? I would really appreciate your advice :)
Dr. EyeGuy, one thing I was wondering about is medications that might cause dry eye. As we age, it seems we take more and more prescription medications for one thing or another. Can any of these cause dry eye?
I can confirm that. I had to use a (severe) medication for 7 years that destroyed my meibomian glands due to toxicity. So now I am entirely lacking the lipid component of my tears and thus suffer from dry eyes.
Yes, I'm glad you commented this. I have been wanting to make a video about this but trying to figure out how to approach it and cover everything in one video. There are medications or treatments that can cause dry eye.
Sorry to hear that. 😒 Dry Eyes is a battle a lot of people don't sign up for or don't even know it could happen when taking treatment for something else.
Wish I would have had this knowledge before my annual exam on Friday lol. I have a prescription for Tyrvaya for 12 months and only got the one month with their website coupon for $10 but quit because it has similar ingredients to Wellbutrin and made me dizzy and feel weird like the week when I took Wellbutrin to quit smoking. Now I’m using a sonic personal care device to stimulate the trigeminal nerve and feel it works much better.
Hi Eye Guy 😎 nice video 📹 and workmanship those are some gooood stuff !!! I like the heat fat release IPL !!! DOES IT COME WITH ALL THE HOT FOOD PLACES !!! 🤔 😋 😊😮❤😅
I use olive or coconut oil at night on my eyes. Olive oil can burn at first but coconut doesn't. I wash in the morning so don't have film. No pharmaceutical in eye.
Interesting that you need prescription for the Perfluorohexyloctane, (not the case here in Europe, under the name EvoTears and it costs ~12$ for 3ml). I've been using it on and off in the last year, mainly after I wake up because I sometimes don't properly close my eyes...
I have used Evotears and didn't like it that much, mainly because it is so thin that it always runs off your eyes when you use it. I can't imagine it's exactly the same consistency like "Miebo" in the US.
@@tiffanyTwisted. Their bottle absolutely sucks, I found it impossible to not drop too much of the liquid which then gets onto the skin, which is uncomfortable... I transferred it into a sterile syringe with blunt needle...
@@Gragagrogoghaha, good idea. I would be curious if that problem is the same with Miebo. However, I have better results with Hylo Night ointment or Thealipid (both European).

Yes, it is good. I briefly mentioned it in this video I did about eyelid wipes: th-cam.com/video/TcnD4vXDGlU/w-d-xo.html A lot of doctors use it for in office treatment for blepharitis, eyelid inflammation, and dryer eyes.

Hi there fellow US dry eyes sufferers. Just FYI: Over here in Europe i pay 8 Dollars for a monthly supply of Ikervis (identical to restasis) Have a nice day ;) PS; No, i am not cynical... your healthcare system is.
There is health insurance in the US and the European ones are troubled, too. Plus: Most of the stuff the Dr. spoke about is not even available in Europe. So, nothing cynical here.
@@DrEyeGuy Which one is that? Possibly "Evotears"? I have tried that one, it is not very convenient as the lipid always leaks out of your eyes when you apply it. It has a very thin consistency unlike your description of Meibo being thick and oily. It did not have great results on me.
