Super versatile and killer sounding little amp! Jason@headfirstamps..com headfirstampli... / headfirst.amplification / 225949122469679 / headfirstamps.jason
I like my SV 20 stock, since my band aims at 70s style rock... however, I get 2 channels the following way - I run a pedal that has stereo inputs in FX loop - then I run signal through ABY pedal - A route goes straight in front of the amp, B route goes to second input of the pedal in FX loop - bypassing the preamp. If you crank the presence, you get a footswitchable, usable clean channel.
Great work..Sounds killer. One I'd love to see is a Baby 800 (SC20H) with its Master Vol, "Plexi fied" to get close to the Back in Black tones /Page 1973 tones etc ..Can an 800 M/Vol go "Back in Time"? Cheers.
Hey Jason what’s your opinion about the cerrem mod ? The big resistor 470ohm 100w between pin3 or the 2 first power tubes in a 50w plexi. Apparently it was that mod which Eddie used (a huge ceramic resistor 200w) with the Variac and the reason he blew tons of OT and used Sylvania 6ca7. The sylvanias were more resilient by the heat produced by the mod.
@@HeadfirstAmps thanks for your answer. I believe the José Vai Dlr era plexi played by Pete Thorn being extremely close to the original sound however I don’t think that Dave Friedman will ever make a replica of this or even leak out any spec. Keep going on your Jose mods they sound awesome !
@@HeadfirstAmps I just watched the video again with Pete thorn at the beginning when Dave Friedman plays it you can see a little bit of the guts : the amp has a small power transformer inside the chassis after the output jacks. I don’t think it’s the usual 3 in 1. In the SLO clone forums there are some pictures of Jose plexis with those transformers but they never made any schematics of them. I wonder if you could ask Dave how Jose used them and share it with us. That would be very kind.
That sounds pretty great! I have a JTM45 my friend built. It's lovely, but i fight myself wanting to do something like this to it. It's already got a metro loop in it, why not more? 😆

I hope you made a bench mod video of what you did to Lamb Choppers SV20H!

Hmm, who knows but I don’t believe it was in the amp and isn’t required to get that tone.

Great Cult tones! Even if they did rip off Rock and Roll Singer for Wild Flower!!
Haha yep! I used to call them ‘English AC/DC’
Finishing Marshall’s homework for them, again. They should hire you as a consultant on new designs.
I dont get why Marshall doesn't make amps that sounds like this out of the box
Maybe they should hire you;)
Haha, I’m available!
