    • @TheDeadStretch
      @TheDeadStretch หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      This is what's crazy to me. His rig is pretty much unchanged since the early days. Back in the day the last two pages in the Guitar World magazine was dedicated to Guitar players' rig setups. Wes was one of the players featured. So it's crazy to me that people didn't know how rig and yet it's been public knowledge since at least the early 2000s.

      @@TheDeadStretch so and so, the Jc120's and the two girl painted box, Ibanez Cf7 and Boss Ns2 are the same, aswell for the A/B approach but over the years it changed quite a bit(atleast from 2001), amp, pedal wise and how he order it from back then. Even since the reunion it changed.
      He had back then that massive Rack, 3 Rectifier heads, a tremoverb combo, 3 Mesa OS (one of them is in the video) and 3 Jc120, where one cab and Jc where in an Iso Box. So beside the old sketched rig article from way back and instagram posts where you barely could make settings out we never got a detailed run down like that 😎

    Loving the efficiency and character of Wes' setup (I can imagine that his iconic tone has been stewing in the melting pot for decades😎) and it's really an amazing opportunity to see a breakdown of the tangible amalgamation of that. I really appreciate the emphasis on frugality throughout his setup tour, and having resonated with that - I was even more delighted to see that he's rocking a Tudor Black Bay on his wrist. Classic, elegant, superb choice for an everyday timepiece that (relatively speaking) is an affordable asset and a cracker of an everyday watch. Respect!
    I love coming across icons of industry who have the wealth/sponsors to just throw money at stuff for the sake of it, but don't. They remain frugal and pragmatic (much like the way I was raised) and I really value that. Just the vibes I'm getting from this short clip and the info Wes has given us - It's the "what I have is worth a whole lot to me because it's mine, I am going to take care of it and see it go the distance because I love what I've created and I worked hard tp be able to attain and build it" mindset.
    Fix rather than replace, optimise logistically to avoid unnecessary overspend, it's just him and his guitar tech kludging their way through any challenges that may arise like two brothers/friends - rather than a purely business transaction void of passion. Stay humble my dude!! 😄 Love from Namibia!

    This is kind of blowing my mind how many actual physical amps/cabs/pedals he has in these modern times. Pretty cool!

    Wow, it's Wes Borland unmasked talking about his rig, ultra nice stuff!
    His style of playing guitar is kinda unique.

    I freaking dig when an artist comes in and not only explains their rig, but they also actually know how it works for them. At this level they could get a pass & let the tech take all the really nerdy technical questions, but when the artist whose of Borlands range you know there's gonna be some whacked out stuff to explain. And those painted cabs are gonna eventually sell for huge money if he ever decides to go the Alex Vanhalen route and auction his old stage gear. ANY of those cabs would look great in my studio!
