Important information for any vehicle owner. Thanks.

I have seen what some people roll in with...and I think, how in hell do they do this? We did end up bringing the truck into a mechanic as well and they went through it all. New plugs/wires, fluids, etc. (even a new dash panel). The van runs better than ever and that's good peace of mind!

Wow great tips. We carry portable tire inflator and jumpstarter

LOL! Thank you for bringing up your tips....we actually carry a tire inflator as well and own a jumpstarter(which we don't carry in the van). These are very important and I simply didn't include them....trying to balance how long you guys are willing to listen to me ramble and cover everything that's important.

I will share another car tip. Always carry at least two fire extinguishers, one in the front where you sit and one at the back near to the door. Also make sure you have the correct extinguisher for the job (Class B & C) and don't buy the small ones as they will probably run out half way through, trust me I've seen it happen.

That is excellent! I can say we at least carry "one", but will admit I am not sure the kind or capacity. Will check into it.

I've actually had to stop before on the side of the road to help a person who's engine was on fire. I was so glad I had the extinguisher that day. Their car could have been totally destroyed rather that just the engine damage that occurred.

Ah the Chevy express. Best van out there for sound. I’m using a gmc savana 1500, decent on gas and hauls a lot of gear

I have been researching the market a bit...bottom line, I am so happy we have this van! These are proven to be good years for GM and these trucks will go forever if you take care of them! We recently had full service and some front end work done to it....it drives like a dream and runs great!

I pretty much do all of my own maintenance on my jeep including doing my own brakes at least the fronts cause I knew the back ones were fine and front brakes are the easiest to do and I've never done brakes ever I just watched youtube videos and it was a bunch of them and I saved myself about 200 bucks by doing my front brakes myself and don't get me wrong I felt the same way as you about brakes but I wanted to save money and it's going almost 2 years now and knock on wood everything is doing great

Thanks for the comment....I struggle as well as how much I want to push beyond my comfort zone. Our van needs new spark plugs, etc. I actually went out and bought them, but after watching some videos, I am pulling back and we will bring it in. Ultimately, I know I could do it, but the time and effort becomes a factor too. Unfortunately, not an easy job on these vans....it involves pulling seats and wheels to get the access needed.

@@thesoundcouple no problem. I know how that is lol I had a rv back about 20 years ago and I had to take half the interior out to change the air filter and pcv filter it was an old one too it was a 79 and it had a van front but the back was the rv part. Even on regular vehicles like a pickup truck it takes awhile to change out plugs on them I remember on one of my old trucks I had to go through the wheel wells to get to some of them. My jeep wrangler is the easiest vehicle i've ever owned to maintain so far. I do agree with you on the vans though lol.

@@bretthibbs6083 Thanks for your validations...picking your battles is an important concept that I learned over the years. The point is though to make sure things get done and they aren't ignored because you can't do something....you need to figure out a solution.
