    They make quite a few after market windshields for the 300L. Most of my commute is 55-60. Only a few exits of 70. Your video told me exactly what I needed. Thank you

    I agree with your comments completely. I own a 2014 KLX 250s & cross winds on open blacktop roads are deadly & can take you into oncoming traffic. It’s a great bike for anything but open highway, even secondary highways aren’t great for long distance. I’m 160 lbs & 74 yrs, been riding since I was 16 yrs

    These bikes are a prime example of riding a slow bike fast. We all know they’re not meant for highway but will get you where you need to go

    Should have shown the entrance ramps on the lodge in Detroit. Cool bike, good video from a fellow Detroit guy.

    Just bought a Ls, not trying to go on the highway, but definitely back roads so I can get to some trails.

    How does gas consumption (MPG) look like on the highway?

    I tested the Rally last sepember and hated the wind against my helmet. My naked bike has not wind protection like the L so, i started to think in the L. In my bike I receive the money und against my chest but not against my helmet. With the l one get the most on the chest or all over around? Thnx

    Bugger, I really want a dual aport i can ride to the trails nut its a 40 min to 1 hour highway ride just to get to them. I think im going to have to get an adventure bike even though what i really want is a light bike to comfortably thrash and pick up myself. I used to ride 2 up with ny ex on my klx250 sf on highway its ok in short bursts

      For the most part if stay around 60-65mph this bike is fine on the highway, just not great. Even a small adventure bike is going to be a weight increase. You could also consider the rally version of the 300.

    I really like your videos! I got pro taper contour bars and acerbis x factor hand gaurds after seeing your upgrade video. One question, what phone mount are you using?

      Appreciate it! It's a quad lock with vibration dampener

    Are you still running the stock gearing? Took my 250L on the highway for a couple exits the other day and it was miserable having a 13T sprocket up front. I'm honestly considering going back to a 14T but don't want to hurt what little dirt performance this bike has lol

      Yeah running both stock sprockets. I'm with you, I'd rather have the dirt performance than highway. The bike is what it is

    55 mph is it for me and that’s with tires inflated to 22 psi. More speed is just too edgy mentally. Two hours of highway wears me out and I suspect a 5 hour trip by car would take about 8 hours on this bike. That sort of adventure would certainly require a Holiday Inn Express overnight rest. Nevertheless I want to ride my 300L from Louisville Kentucky to Harlan County Kentucky to explore some fire trails and coal mining roads.

      Yeah anything under 70mph feels okay on this bike. I think I'm going to do a multi day motocamp with it to see how it tours next year

    Removing that tail end, the Seat and the bars were the first to get replaced. Agreed, the Seat was BAD...SC far better on the arse! The bike wasn't built to be traveling highway speeds for long shots...As others have proven it can be done...I wouldn't spend hours on a freeway with it. A couple of exits is enough for me, at top speed depending on the wind you can really get thrown around...Tire, suspension set up could probably improve the stability.

    Do you personally think an Xr650L is better than a crf300L?

    • @XSRDetroit
      @XSRDetroit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I haven't ridden one myself. I chose the 300L because I wanted something specifically for the trails and quick rides through town. The XR is more powerful, but also heavier. If you only have one bike the XR might be a better option, since I already have a street bike I didn't mind the slower, lighter CRF.

    For the highway I got my 300L a 6x12 cargo trailer to ride in.......lol

      Why then you need 300l? If you travel with travel it would be much better to buy enduro bike with 250 pounds weight

    😮 I had an XT350 With roughly the same power 28 hp that would do 85 mph . That's odd

    • @XSRDetroit
      @XSRDetroit  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fastest I've gotten it was 86mph downhill on the highway, shit was sketchy haha.

    The rally or this would be nice but I don't want to wait 8 months to get the bike!? Ridiculous

    • @MM-ig1iv

      Being that I don't have any other bike to ride, and the klx300 and drz400 are in stock. But can't find the CRF in my area. CRF 250. But don't want that.

    • @XSRDetroit
      @XSRDetroit  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the wait for these bikes in certain areas is ridiculous. I got very lucky finding mine.
