I am happy with my 2024 XL Maverick. It has the Ecoboost engine and is averaging between 28 and 29 miles per gallon. I don't need all the extra's many people seem to want. My truck has cruise, trailer hitch, full size spare, and a rubber bed mat. For about $25,000, I think I have a very good truck.

My only concern is where to put the dog. I was hoping one of the back seats lifted independently so I can add the kids booster seat and have the dog beside now I wouldn't have the SUV trunk space for the pup.

"philips head screwdriver" - works but anyone who plans to do work on a Japanese bike should really spend a few bucks and invest in a set of JIS screwdrivers. They really do work better on Japanese machines.

Cool vid , I'm still debating on if I should get the srs or the fx to just ride around whenever I don't want to drive my car I wonder if it ever crossed their minds to make a zero reverse trike , for anybody that might not feel comfortable riding on 2 wheels , cause if they did they might be able to put a bigger battery which would end up possibly having more range

How do you test for spark with the bike to see if its a bad coil? Do you pull out one at a time to test for spark and gave the bike running on 2 cylinders for a brief moment?

Do you use the Gen1 or Gen2 rhinomoto bar ends? I’m going to buy the same and want to know

That "new" upper grill...that's a no from me dog...I do like the lower portion with the fog lights though. Funny, I had to take our in for a recall today and the service advisor was talking about the ST Mav.

Once you get used to the auto clutch you will say dam . So convenient. And it’s not meant to be a performance bike . It’s meant for exploring and commuting in a city. It’s 100 mile per tank is also why most people purchase it. I love mine . The future looks terrible considering the current economy so this is a no brainer . It’s cheap enough to buy 2 for the price of an expensive bike and easy enough for your significant other to ride . Imagine packing down 2 bikes with enough supplies to survive in the wild for a few days . Very doable.”

Ford has always built a Great truck!. That's all I've ever bought. No that I'm older, I no longer tow. The EcoBoost is is powerful. The Maverick is actually an entry level truck. It could be an exit level truck as well.. Makes a great bug out vehicle too. I got the XL which now come with carpet. Unusual for Ford.

I had my DRZ400 for almost 2 years and barely ride it!...All riding locations are 2 hours from my house, minimum.....I ended up having to get different truck, my last one just wasn't reliable....then had to install a new hitch, then got a Bike carrier, because I don't wanna use my motorcycle trailer....too much to go wrong with trailers, especially if I'm driving alone. Then had to get lights for the bike carrier, I'm driving threw some congested towns, I wanna be covered just in case. Got a cell phone holder for the bike, and Onyx Maps too.....got a 5 gallon tank upgrade too. I work really far from home, so projects and trips keep getting stalled....I know that feeling.

It’s funny how slow the front end takes to get up. It reminds me of those old horse kiddie rides that used to be in front of the supermarkets. Try it while going up a hill and sit farther back on the seat. It makes it easier. And get used to the back brake. If you can find some grass to practice on it helps. 👍

2023 XSR900 here.. Swapping front Brake pads on both disks takes 15 minutes.. Needle nose pliers is all it takes. Each radial caliper has two pads.. pull the clips, pull the rod, slide out the pads, slide in both new.. Done! I went with EBC HH Sintered pads. What came out looked to be Metallic.. the HH sintered had a Lot more Copper in the friction material. Not a lot of experience on the stock Metallics.. Won't make ANY difference to matter for a Joe Blo rider like me. Just thought I'd comment on how EASY it is to swap pads at least on the 2023 XSR.

Excellent review, thanks. If I do get one, I'll be going for the XLT, preferably the hot pepper red, but would settle for the metallic grey -- and would prefer the blackout package so I get the darker interior, but with that, you must also get the luxury package.

I would want the hot pepper red too. I don't like the cactus gray or area 51 -- those are just fad colors right now. I really want one of these Mavericks but I just wish the interior was so much plastic.

I do have a '24 XLT >Paint is thin >Quality of trim, interior to be more precise, is abysmal > Head rests aren't comfortable, at least to me >

I was thinking of getting this bike. Where the trails are from my house is like 40 to an hour away. I don't plan on taking this bike on the highway, but the roads to go to these trails are 60 and 65 mph. I only do 5 over the speed limit and single lane. Would this be a pain to get there all the time? Was also thinking of the rally. Just can't figure out which one to get.

If you have a high-lift jack, works fantastic for popping the beads off and on.
